When walking into Éze, the glamorous entrance immediately caught our eye, the two star Michelin plaque gleaming on the wall. We were very hungry, having just climbed the steps, but, seeing the expensive cars on the driveway, immediately dismissed the possibility of going there. We kept walking, looking for places to eat. We passed some expensive seafood restaurants and realised that the price of food in Éze was universally expensive; they have you stuck up here, so if you want food, you'll need to pay. As we were continuing our search, we noticed a menu on the wall which looked very delicious. The very charming staff standing outside welcomed us in, taking us past the outdoor bar with a phenomenal view, and into the restaurant. We were blown away by the walls of windows, the views stunning. We took our seats excitedly, and asked for two Coke Zeros. The prices on the menu were incredibly high, but we thought that since we are here and the view is so nice, we may as well treat ourselves. The very friendly waiter took our order, and we waited for our food to arrive. After a very unique appetizer, we were presented with our food. The presentation on the plate was beautiful, but they were very tiny. The stuffed tomato was no bigger than a ping-pong ball. Nevertheless, both our meals were absolutely delicious. We then ordered some coffee, and enjoyed the view. We noticed the grand piano in the corner, and the waiter was incredibly kind to let me play (after asking every table whether they minded). After an encore, we ordered the bill, expecting a hefty figure. The two Coke Zeros were €18 and the coffee was €12 each. The ping-pong ball tomato was €40. Of course, the price covers the setting and atmosphere and everything else, but notwithstanding, it was vastly over-expensive. As we left Éze, we noticed the same place that caught our eye on the way up, and discovered a startling resemblance between the menu of the place we'd just eaten and here; we'd accidentally dined at a 2-star Michelin restaurant, which did explain quite a bit, and we both found very amusing. I was delighted to have been able to play the piano, but without that I probably would have given a rating of 4 stars.

Google
Im giving this a 5 star because the staff was kind and trying hard but there is a lot to be improved for this level of prestige and cost. We were seated 30 minutes beyond the reservation time with no apology or explanation. We had to ask twice for an estimate. There were other issues with the service but can just bucket this as just a younger staff that just recently opened. My bigger issue is the food. Felt that the restaurant was trying to be a little too edgy with flavors. For example adding kiwi to tuna didnt really hit the mark for me. Or adding orange to fish also didnt do it. Everything had a bit of sweetness to it that didnt really fit. They did highlight that the chef likes to put unexpected flavors together. At the end of the day what do i know vs a world renowned chef but that is my take. I couldnt finish the pigeon on the menu, it was simply not good and honestly chicken wouldve done trick but i get the focus on french tradition. Finally views were unbeatable.

Absolutely unforgettable experience at La Chèvre d'Or. From the breathtaking views of the Côte d'Azur to the refined elegance of the dishes, everything was exceptional. I started with the stuffed squid appetizer, which was delicately prepared—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented with subtle Mediterranean influences. The veal filet entrée was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and paired with thoughtfully chosen accompaniments that elevated the dish without overpowering it. For dessert, the coconut creation was a refreshing and inventive finish—light, tropical, and perfectly balanced. The service was attentive yet unintrusive, and the setting alone is worth the visit. A truly memorable dining experience that seamlessly blends culinary artistry with the natural beauty of Èze.

A must visit when in Èze, even for just drinks. The view is breathtaking and the staff is amazing! The experience is a must do!

Google
We were fortunate to dine at this outstanding restaurant back in 2001. Truly one of the most superb and incredible experiences of our lives. We tell all our friends about the gorgeous view and amazing food, along with impeccable service. As elegant and elevated as this restaurant is, our server made us feel welcome and comfortable - no arrogance or stuffiness. We dream of returning there - it was an evening we will never forget

Google
Worth every penny. The service was the best I’ve ever had in my life. While the view is incredible, the decor felt a bit aged. Not my style, but still giving it a 5 star because the food, the service and the view make it all worth while.

Google
really a unique restaurant with an incredible view, as if under the sky🤩 The dishes are very tasty with many ingredients and beautiful presentation.

Google
a great view and taste with welcoming hospitality. Undoubtedly qualified for a mischelin star restaurant.

Yelp
I don't often eat gluten but gladly scarfed down four slices of olive bread. I dined at a table in the front row on a Wednesday evening. The view was obscured with fog, but the service was meticulous. The menus are digital, and specials are discussed in person. We had a lovely Italian server who was completely trilingual. An on-site sommelier helps with the drinks and appetizers, which are presented like finery. The dinner show begins with the entree. We ordered the seabass, which is carted in and deboned in the dining room. The mashed potato is an incredible side. As far as medieval dining goes, the gold goat takes the cake.

Yelp
The restaurants here are truly some of the most spectacular I've been too - partially because of the view but also the food and service is such high quality. We were lucky and got a table on a whim later Sunday evening. After being seated on the patio at high top table, we actually gasped seeing the view. It's UNREAL. For the entire dinner, it's almost distracting to just keep staring out at the mountains, water and yachts looming down below. Gorgeous. The service matches the hotels 5-star expectations. Super attentive, quick, and friendly. We had drinks to celebrate a proposal and they also brought out some on the house champagne. For dinner, we actually split the blue lobster pasta. It was more than plenty for 2 people. Absolutely delicious. They bring the lobster and pasta out to mix together in front of you and ugh I am still thinking about that dish to this day. Its a hike to get up to this point. Once you reach the gated area, no cars can reach the top. Well worth the challenge to get up and it's such a unique experience. The walk up is all along the hillside and through the little mountain shops. 100% felt like I was in a movie and would love to come back to stay at the hotel. I don't think they couldn't created a better experience here between the food, menu, view, and service... I wouldn't change a thing.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and place. Amazing view. Excellent food and service. I would love to go back.

Yelp
We only grabbed drinks here. The hotel restaurant is located in Eze Village on the hilltop. There is indoor or outdoor seating. The view outside is beautiful. It can get windy and chilly so ask for a blanket which they will kindly provide. Service was phenomenal. Highly recommend. Tip: when you leave the restaurant, stop by the bathroom across the hall in the hotel lobby. It's white marble and plays opera music...reminds you from the scene of The Shining.

Yelp
AMAZING!! This restaurant has 2 Michelin Stars and it's definitely clear why. The service is top notch, the food is incredible, and the restaurant is exquisite with the best view in Eze. We had high expectations and La Chèvre d'Or lived up to each one. We went with the 5-course menu but it felt more like 8 courses. My husband and I had a reservation for 7:30pm and we were there until midnight. Everything was delicious so it's hard to pick a favorite. The staff really made the experience so fun and we absolutely loved Emmanuel! We look forward to coming back again one day.

Yelp
The best culinary, hotel, and travel experience my husband and I have ever lived. Do yourself a favor and book as many nights as you can here and eat at the Michelin-starred restaurant. I'll be back to write a longer review. The food is unmatched. The service is without reproach. And the ambience feels like heaven. From the moment you arrive to the gate, til the moment you leave, this place is perfection.

Yelp
An amazing 4 hour French - Mediterranean dining experience. 2 Michelin stars. If you can stay at the hotel as well to get the full experience. Best dining views in the Cote D'Azur and quite possible the world imo. Great service and staff. Food was superb (with exception of Sea Bream which kind of missed the mark). Dinner went kind of long. You gotta be in shape to eat here. :) Worth it for the experience. Make sure to watch the movie The Bucket List- there's a great scene filmed here.

Yelp
First, you can not mention the place without talking of the stunning location and ambiance. I mean. Most of the area is picturesque but this is the proverbial cherry in the icing. Views, location, ambiance - 5 stars. Note: if you have any kind of immobility issue or have a hard time walking on unstable ground you will need a lot of assistance as it is cobblestones, a lot of steps and very narrow and up hill. You should also know that there are a number of small restaurants here and it is pretty easy to miss, but google maps to the rescue as always, and the staff are also helpful depending on who you ask. I sat outside and stuck with champagne (rose) but they have a great assortment of cocktails. You are really there for the views so enjoy. My one negative is people who decide that in that beautiful mountain environment nothing would be better than a cigarette or a vape. Like really?? Way to ruin the fresh air for everyone. I wish they made a special area around the back for them. Other than that, everything was perfect. -5stars just hard to get to and a lot of smokers and you do need to plan a bit in advance, but so worth it. Can't wait to go back. I was supposed to dine at the restaurant but my person who made the reservation made a mistake on the booking so I was not able to dine, but I definitely plan on this next time. The restaurant is directly below the cocktail area and is just as beautiful. It also has 2 Michelin stars. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Unbelievable views at the top of eze where you can stop to grab a bite of food and a drink. There are tables lining the balcony and service was great. Definitely pricey but the views are worth it and the caviar hummus and bread was delicious!

Yelp
From start to finish this dinner was magnificent. The service was incredible & your glass never went empty! The views of the Mediterranean are incredible from this elevated establishment. I could go on forever about the food, but easily the best meal of my life. Every detail was so carefully chosen in each dish and it was fascinating to learn about it all. A must if you are in the area and want to splurge!!

Yelp
Specific Rating: 3.88 Food is incredible, have meals for all types of eaters. Atmosphere is spectacular, the view is superb and overlooks the mountains/sea. Service is horrible, they are very slow and inattentive. Would not recommend for kids.

Yelp
We took the package stay with a night in the hotel and a dinner reservation at the 2* restaurant le chèvre d or. The service of the hotel is great, what you'd expect from a 5* hotel in France. The restaurant was good, but in my opinion only the dessert was truly outstanding. The rest was delicious but relatively expected and felt a bit underwhelming for the price and the 2*. I would eat there again any day though even just to get the dessert.

Yelp
Amazing, amazing meal. We came to Eze on a day trip from Nice basically just for La Chèvre d'Or and this ended up being probably the best meal in our 2-week trip to France. Plus you can't beat those views.. only small complaint is the restaurant was so hot, we were both sweating! The giant south-facing windows turn the dining room into a greenhouse. RESERVATIONS: We had none on a Wednesday in late October at around 1pm. We showed up and checked with the front desk, and they had space for us. Throughout lunch not all the tables were seated, but all the ones along the windows were. SERVICE: Incredibly professional, and they all speak great English (English menus were provided too). We had a 2-month old and they provided a high chair, and were so nice even though my baby cried a couple times. There was no changing table in the bathroom, but they let us change her in a private dining room upstairs! Also, the moment you sit down, the amuse-bouches start coming immediately. Impeccable timing. THE COST: 500€ total for lunch tasting menu, cheese plate, and a few drinks for two. Interestingly, they gave me (the female) a menu without prices, and my partner (the male) a menu WITH prices. THE FOOD: AMUSE-BOUCHES * Pizza crackers - 4 stars These had a nice toasted flavor. * Lemon tart - 3.5 stars Quite savory, a lot of butter * Pillow pastry with cod - 4 stars Nice explosion of flavor. * Tartare spoon - 3.5 stars Very fishy in flavor. * Socca - 4 stars Like lightly fried chips, dense yet crunchy. * Vegetable and bean soup - 4 stars This was mostly a puree. You get a nice fresh crunch from the green bean. DRINKS * Earl Grey sour cocktail - 3.5 stars Stronger than I expected, more sour and lemon flavor than Early Grey. It also had a bitter after taste. * Virgin mule - 4.5 stars Delicious, very sharp raspberry flavor, very nice and refreshing. LUNCH TASTING MENU * House bread - 4 stars Soft, herby. * Bread basket - 4.5 stars The brioche is by far the best! So heavenly soft, buttery, and moist! * Local tuna and vegetable salad - 4 stars Interestingly, the tuna was pureed. The fresh vegetables were great. * Lobster - 5 stars This was the best dish of meal, and quite possibly the best lobster either of us have ever had. * Monkfish - 4 stars The fish had a dense texture. There were olives in the vegetables, a big personal dislike, so this was not as much for me. The skin was cooked separately and placed on top of the vegetables. * Rabbit - 4.5 stars The rabbit meat was amazing with bacon. The octopus was soft but still quite chewy. * Cheese plate (cow, sheep, and goats cheese, olive tapenade, fruit) - 4 stars The olive tapenade was amazing, on the sweet side. You can choose between the cracker and the bread - get the cracker! It has an amazing soft texture, yet it's still got a good crisp. * Pre dessert drink - 4 stars Served to cleanse our palette before dessert. Refreshing, citrus forward. * Lemon dessert - 4.5 stars This was freaking beautiful, a visual surprise, and delicious. COMPLIMENTARY DESSERT * Chocolate bar & Thyme tart - 4 stars Very dense chocolate, nice and subtle tart. * Strawberry Tart & Jasmine dessert - 4 stars Nicely done, good buttery crust. * Nougats & caramels - 4 stars The nougat was surprisingly soft, and not too sticky! * Muffin - 4.5 stars Perfectly moist, even a few days later!

Yelp
This was going to be the last dinner of our trip to the French Riviera. This is supposed to be a high end restaurant, and the service was good and the food was good, but they allowed two dogs in the dining room, and one of them barked through the entire meal. It was infuriating. For this reason I do not recommend this restaurant at all! It's one thing to allow necessary service animals, but these were lap dogs!

Yelp
KenScale: 9.0/10 Out of all the restaurants my wife Jun and I were to visit during our honeymoon/summer vacation in Europe, I did have the highest expectations from La Chevre d'Or. A friend of mine who had visited southern France a few years ago highly recommended that we stay in Eze, a beautiful hill village overlooking the French Riviera, telling me he and his wife had stayed at a gorgeous hotel Chateau de la Chevre d'Or and they had a restaurant that any foodie should definitely check out. In our itinerary, we didn't end up staying at the hotel ($800 and above per night sounded a little bit too much for us given that we were already traveling all over the place for two weeks), but I did make a reservation for the restaurant. La Chevre d'Or is as classic a fine-dining French restaurant as it gets. There is a strict dress code (all gentlemen wear jackets and no jeans or shorts are permitted), and all the professionally dressed staffs certainly look like they have a ton of experience in the hospitality industry. We arrived just a little earlier to have a cocktail at the hotel's outdoor bar (I highly recommend taking in the stunning sight of Cap Ferrat and the surrounding coast even if you don't have a chance to dine at the restaurant), and were then led to a breezy dining room with windows overlooking the same sight we had just seen outside. The ambiance of the restaurant certainly won us over. It was, however, the food that made our experience at La Chevre d'Or truly special. The meal at La Chevre d'Or, consists of both a tasting menu and a la carte options, but each a la carte dish is already prohibitively expensive so why not just go for the tasting menu? The full tasting menu is at 250 euros per person although you can also take out a couple of dishes and pay 215 euros per person instead. We opted for the shorter tasting menu, but that didn't mean we will leave home feeling still hungry. In fact, there were a variety of amuse bouche bites and snacks that came to us. A gorgeous bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape was poured, and only then we started with the savory course, starting with this gorgeous dish of girolle (also known as chanterelle mushroom) marinated with hazelnuts, blue lobster and a type of plant known as lovage. It was one of the best appetizers I've had in recent months, especially with the way the texture of crunchy lobster in the center worked so beautifully with the mushroom and hazelnuts, while the flavor was also very balanced to my liking. If I had a dish like this every month, I would certainly be one happy foodie. Artichoke, which stuffed delicate caviar on top, came on top of broth perfumed with lime; the slightly citrusy feel to the dish somehow found a way to balance the slightly salty caviar and the effect was quite delightful. Initially, the texture of glazed grouper, which came with fresh almond, wild spinach raviolis and saffron jus, wasn't appealing at first because of rather firm texture, but over time it grew on me and I am very regretful that neither Jun nor I remembered to take the photo of this winner. The best savory dish of the night came last. Jun and I do not eat lamb very often because of its gamy feel that can overpower our palate. Well, the one from La Chevre d'Or would change the mind of anyone who feels the same about lamb. Roasted lamb saddle, accompanied by elderflower and zucchini flower, was one heck of a meat dish, and I don't know what magic the kitchen to neutralize the gaminess. It chewed like a superbly cooked beef with no smell of game at all! This was one of the best meat dishes I've had this year, or maybe even the past three years. For dessert, we had a dish named "Vison of a Riviera Lemon," where you can open up a lemon shell to reveal a delightfully deconstructed lemon tart with lemon sorbet on the side. It was refreshing and perfect for a summer meal, and really made us marvel at the kitchen's creativity in putting together dishes that not only look aesthetically pleasing but quite delicious as well. The dining room at La Chevre d'Or is not big, and the restaurant with its two Michelin-star fame is probably one of the most popular fine dining options in the French Riviera area, so I highly recommend booking the restaurant in advance (the restaurant requires a credit card deposit in advance of 50 euros per person to hold the table). As noted above, the dining room has a romantic aura that you can't skip if you are in the area for a trip with your significant other (in fact, most of the tables in the dining room were couples or couples going on double dates). There is an extensive French wine list, and there are surprisingly several bottles that were in the realm of reasonableness in terms of price. Do yourself a favor and don't be afraid to order a bottle that goes over 100 euros for this glorious dining experience. La Chevre d'Or is undoubtedly one of the best dining experiences I've had this year. It epitomizes the finest of French dining.

Yelp
Fancy restaurant, you have to walk up for a while to find it. The food is fantastic, the views are wow!!! Restaurante lujoso, tenes que caminar hacia arriba bastante para encontrarlo. La comida es fantástica, las vistas wow!!!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, from the moment you walk in, you feel like royalty. This feeling is passed on by the staff, as everyone you encounter treats you with uttermost kindness and respect. We stayed here for a couple of days and our suit was fantastic. Beautiful view and very comfortable room, probably one of the most beautiful rooms I ever stayed in. All our wishes were immediately met and attended to within seconds. The housekeeper came personally to do my laundry and returned it within 2 hours. I mentioned to the waiter at their Michelin star restaurant that I didn't like their menu and hotel manager came to meet me personally within minutes to organize a special one of a kind menu for me. This very much reminded me of stay in a hotel in Argentina that organized an artist atelier showing privately for me when I wanted to go shopping for some art. There is also this beautiful orange tabby cat who lives here, who made us feel very welcome and was a highlight of our stay ! He is the sweetest most endearing hotel staff member! I loved him and we even got to feed him milk! The village above hotel is divine and has some very unique and quirky shops, I got some beautiful jewelry and souvenirs there. I will definitely be back but this time for a longer stay. You can easily spend a week here between shopping for one of a kind experience, exploring Monaco, lounging on the beach in a beach club nearby or climbing the mountain adjacent to the hotel which proves a great exercise routine and has a spectacular view. Perfect hotel in every sense and I only regret not coming sooner. My future destination, my love and my retreat.

Brad B.

Yelp
Our last time here was 15 years ago. It has a magnificent view, food quality and service appropriate to the 5 star ranking of the hotel, and in every way superb. Unfortunately, we got sidetracked enjoying the food and failed to take photos. If you come, be sure to try the cold watermelon soup and the tomatoes and buratta. Obviously buratta is served all I've Europe and is a delight. But somehow, they made it more beautiful and more tasty than anywhere else. Perhaps the beauty of the location heightened the senses.

Yelp
4 Solid Stars for This 2 Michelin Star Winner Breakfast was fantastic but lunch was a whole different ball game! First of all, I was seated on the terrace edge with a stunning view of the French Riviera below. Not since Santorini have I seen amazing ocean views like this! I was then started with an exhilarating amuse bouche of cold zuchinni & cauliflower bisque with crunchy bits of buttery toastettes making each spoonful rich, flavorful and decadent. The cold soup was inviting since it was a warm day out, as well. Rucola salad with Parmigiano Reggiano and side of toasted tomato fusette was a refreshing accompaniment to our inviting amuse bouche. The peppery rucola with a vibrant pesto dressing was flavorful and wonderfully acidic, while the fragrant Parmegiano flakes and toasted tomato fusette added just the right amount of earthiness to balance the dish The fish was served with the skin which is what I usually do not prefer and the flavor at first bite was a bit on the fishy side. It came with a sauce that helped tone it down but overall I wasn't too impressed with the dish The duck on the other hand was succulent and full of permeating flavor. Swimming in a pool of scattered pine nuts and pistachios, the honey coriander crusted skin exhibited the most fantastic texture and intensely pleasant flavor. The accompanying poached lemon verbena peaches were both fragrant and delicious, as well. The aroma of this dish was addicting and each velvety bite, heavenly! Highly recommended For dessert, I had the Mysterious ball, lemon sorbet and praline sauce. A creative dish that was as pleasing to the eye as it was in my mouth. Overall, a pleasant experience for breakfast and lunch at this two Michelin star restaurant. An excellent choice if you're looking for fine dining with a breathtaking view. Happy Eats!

Yelp
I think a big part of our experience was staying at the hotel as well as dining at this restaurant. We had a reservation for 8 pm and when we went to be seated we were told that our table wasn't ready yet and the host asked if we would like to enjoy a cocktail on the terrace while we waited. I was a bit disappointed we had to wait and the wait ended up being over an hour. The terrace is beautiful and I love the champagne flutes with the little goats on them. Once we finally made it to the restaurant the service was amazing. If you're dining here, I would suggest you ask for a table by a window so that you can enjoy the view. We opted for the tasting menu with just one dessert option. It is an incredible amount of food. We left absolutely stuffed. I was full for most of the next day. Everything we had was delicious. The wine recommended was a perfect compliment. Some of my favorite items were the mushroom gnocchi, the tomato salad and the gazpacho. I also really liked both desserts. The fig was so perfectly ripe and bursting with flavor and the lemon tart dish was almost too beautiful to eat! Plates were cleared immediately, wine was never empty and the servers even noticed when we started to become full and made sure it wasn't because we didn't enjoy the dishes being served. I would love to dine here again- our only complaint was the crazy long wait for our table when we had a reservation.

Yelp
The best dining (lunch really) experience I have EVER had. Food aside, this hotel is a must for anyone in the South of France region. The beautiful gardens, the serenity, and most importantly, the views from the property are spectacular. I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is alway busy and I really do think its worth eating here if you make it to Eze. Since we were there for lunch, we went to the Cafe du jardin. My bf and I arrived ended up waiting 25-30 mins to get a table, which was not a problem at all since the Manager (..wish I remembered his name, he made our visit a very memorable experience ) offered us complimentary champagne and seated us in the patio area where we could enjoy both the views and the garden. We spent some time exploring the gardens and took pictures until we were seated. We were seated right on the edge and were able to enjoy great views of the Mediterranean. I remember that lunch was very quiet because we were both just taking in the moment. It was very surreal! The service was amazing - from the manager, waiter, and staff on the property. We started off with a Tomato salad with mozzarella cheese and agrums and enjoyed pizzas for the main - Ortolano for myself and my bf a Fromaggi. Everything was fantastic! Although it was a bit on the higher end in terms of prices, it was definitely worth it for the whole experience. I highly recommend visiting Chateau de La Chevre either for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
My wife and I had a gastronomic experience of a life time. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the views the drinks, the desserts and the coffee were spectacular. We had the crustaceans and pigeon dishes. The chocolate dessert was phenomenal! We would love to come back. Cheers!

Yelp
Gorgeous restaurant, gorgeous hotel, gorgeous views, gorgeous food. This place is Fancy with a capital F. Lunchtime reservations were made easily a few weeks in advance. I requested a table with a good view, and while we didn't get the best view (I assume those tables are booked out way ahead or held for guests/regulars), it wasn't half bad. We ordered the 4-course lunch menu for 150 euros. It ended up being more like 8 courses with all of the gifts from the kitchen - I think I was halfway full before the first course even hit the table. All of the food was impeccably prepared, but the desserts stole the show for me. The first dessert came to the table presented as a lemon on a bed of dry ice; with a tap, the lemon revealed itself to be a white chocolate shell holding in lemon curd, with balls of lemon sorbet on the side studding the plate. Our second dessert (they kindly gave us a complimentary one) was the best coconut cream tart I've ever had topped with thinly sliced apples - I was absolutely in love with this dish. Perfect service, as to be expected from any restaurant of this caliber. Make sure to take a walk around the hotel grounds after! They're impeccably manicured and kept, it felt like a dream.

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing!! They have several miniature meals before the item(s) you order to prime your palate for maximum flavor! Great service and knowledgeable staff. They have a system set up so you're always excited for the next portion. Expensive, but definitely worth the money if you enjoy food. Their two Michelin stars are well deserved!

Ibrahim A.

Yelp
The view, the gardens, the food, the service. This place will meet or exceed your expectations at every front. If you're luck to sit in Thierry's section, you're in for an extra treat. He's thoughtful, personable, attentive and professional. As good as the meal was, he made the experience even more memorable. Enjoy.

Jeff R.

Yelp
The best most upscale dining experience I have ever had. Four of dined and I think we had 6 servers. The menu was of course a little exotic and the additional courses they brought out were amazing. It was also the most expensive meal I have ever had. But hey we were on vacation and ate at a two Michelin star restaurant on top of a cliff.... The fois gras melted in my mouth the lamb was cooked to perfection. We had a fireworks show at 11 planned or unplanned it added to the experience. I asked the chef to stuff some blue cheese olives for me he of course did. We wanted some ice cream for desert it was not only the menu we got it. I would suggest going early have a bottle of rosé or Champaigne on the terrace before. Also, try to go to the top to view the cactus garden during the day well worth €6. Ask about the story of the golden goat as well it's interesting Bon Appetite! Très Bien.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this restaurant and I even brought my children who loved it as well. The staff was very kind and the sommelier gave the most fantastic recommendations. The dessert by far was the most magical and best tasting I have had. It looked like a lemon but inside was filling and cake. I would definitely go back here again!

Yelp
This is my second time to this area. We ate at Chateau Eza last time and loved it and figured we'd try here next. Places that are on this scale to me are hard to review because everything is done so well. As much as I love food and have eaten at several Michelin starred restaurants does not make me an expert, but I can tell you if it's good or bad or worth the money you're about to spend. Fair warning. This is an old hill top town and navigating through the town in dress shoes and a wife in heels is challenging. Also, make sure you cab it or uber it here. Makes life much easier then any other mode of transportation. They do drop you off right of the gates of the hotel and walking to the restaurant through their grounds is pretty easy AND beautiful. The grounds are exceptionally gorgeous. FYI no sunset views on this side of the town. If you want that sunset. Go to Chateau Eza. The restaurant also does not have any outdoor area that you can step out to before the meal or after. But you can hang out on the grounds before hand. Views inside are incredible with floor to ceiling windows of the beautiful landscape perched upon this hill. Make sure you request a window table, but also make sure you book months in advance if you want that window table. It's hard to rate the food on a level like this, but I can tell you everything was perfectly done. We did the chefs tasting menu with a total of 7 plates and were throughly impressed on how well everything tasted and was prepared. The only thing I did notice was my lamb was a bit hard to eat. Overall, for 7 plates 1 to be off wasn't a killer for me, but I did notice it was a bit too chewy. Sisteron's lamb is supposed to be tender and it was anything but that. We did the cheese cart too. Why? I don't know but I can tell you I almost always feel like it's not worth it. Cheese is amazing don't get me wrong, but I'm like damn that's a lot of cheese I have to eat. Also a slight knock against everything was creativity. I don't need a science project, but I like to see some other newer things being done. If you're a foodie that wants super creative food, then you might not like it here. If you want a fantastic, fresh, French meal, then this is the place for you. Wine menu is off the charts, incredible list. We voted for the wine pairing. My wife did the lower tiered one and I did the higher tiered one. If you're on the fence about the cost of the pairing, I do think it's worth it, because it really does enhance the flavor of the food. Expensive yes, but it's an experience you should try because you're trying wines you typically don't have the opportunity of trying on a regular basis. Service was ALMOST incredible. A couple things that shouldn't happen at a 2 star...after a dish is a completed and empty it should never be left on the table for too long. Unfortunately some dishes sat on our table longer than expected. Next up, too much time between dishes being served. I understand speed is at a some what slower pace, but there was a good 30 minutes before the next dish came out. 20 min max but not 30. Our meal lasted roughly 4 hours total. Overall, the staff was very attentive and friendly and were there the minute you raised your hand. Overall. To me it was typical French cuisine where nothing wow'd me, but all very exceptional dishes. That does not mean that it was bad at all, it just means I wasn't blown away at the level of creativity. It was a fantastic experience, but I'm not sure if I would say I NEED to come back for a second meal. Then again I typically don't visit places like this twice. If you're here on vacation and you're looking for a fantastic romantic meal I would say you'd be a fool to pass it up. Just don't looking for amazing inventiveness. So why 4 stars? Those couple knocks on service and the chewy lamb. Sorry, at a 2 star that shouldn't happen and I think that kicks off the 5th star for me. Also fair warning to those who might be wondering. We paid nearly $1100 dollars for 2 people. Without the wine pairing you're looking at roughly $700-750. If you don't do the chefs tasting menu you could drop even lower in total cost. If you want those outdoor while*drinking*a*glass*of*champagne sunset views look at the restaurant next door......you can also check my review of that other restaurant on my page.

Yelp
It was like a dream that I never wanted to end. The "golden goat" needs to be a must see if you find yourself in Eze. This review is only for the bar area and it's amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea. I tried to stay here but t was booked and it is now clear to me the reason for that. Perched high above the sea, the garden terrace is the perfect place to rest your feet after climbing about Eze and enjoy a glass of wine and a snack. The friendly servers are great about letting you pick a table that gives you the ultimate view of the Sea and the entire French Riviera. As the landscape unfolds beneath you, there are people getting married in the gardens (go for it- it has to be one of the most gorgeous places I've seen!), people laying out in the southern France sunshine by the pool, or just sipping wine as they enjoy the sea breezes. Even the interior of this hotel is stately and grand with tapestries and beautiful furniture. Unlike the other fancy hotel in Eze, the Chateau Eza, who was rude to me and my guest when we asked about lunch, this place warmly greeted me and treated me like a valued customer even if I was only there for a glass of wine. So much appreciated! BTW- dress accordingly. I get that Eze is a tourist site but this is not the place for beach wear. I could have stayed here forever but reality set back in and I headed back down the hill to catch my train back to Nice. But I will return to stay in this beautiful chateau!

Yelp
Heading up the mountainside from the coast into Eze, all I knew was that there was a Michelin-starred restaurant somewhere in this quaint village perched precariously aside a plunging mountainside with stunning views of the Mediterranean. I quickly figured this was the place, and after nearly fainting at the cost of a meal (or even a single dish) here and perusing the menu at the Chateaux Èze across the street, Wakako U. and I decided to go for broke-- possibly quite literally-- and try to have lunch here. The setting was among the most gorgeous and opulent I've ever seen. It seemed as if this was going to be one of those stuffy, snobby places you see in movies where the waiters go around with their noses in the air and speak with outrrrrageous Frahnch accent. I figured our chances of landing a table walking in cold off the street were slim indeed. Much to our delight, the staff was extremely cordial and welcoming, not exactly what we expected from a French fine-dining establishment. We were enthusiastically greeted and ushered immediately to a table with a breathtaking view of the mountainside and a village by the sea hundreds, if not thousands, of feet below. There was also the famous "chevre d'or," a gilded billy goat standing commandingly upon the roof outside. More about him later... The food... well, for over $150 each we ordered the 3-course lunch menus with wine pairing, which came accompanied with some delightful amuses-bouches. My starter was an anchovy-based dish that blew the anchovies I had in Cinque Terre (famous for the little buggers) out of the water. Wakako had a tomato-themed starter that included a tomato lasagna and some fresh mozzerella cheese. Nothing spectacular. The same could be said for the steak we both ordered for our main course, which came profusely adorned with black truffles. Maybe it's just me, because this often happens when I eat truffles, but I found them to be quite tasteless. The steak was decent, but again, was nothing special and certainly did not warrant the insane price of entry. By this point, it seemed as if the golden goat outside was looking down at me with a pitiful, knowing look on his face. Sucker, he seemed to be saying. It's not that the food was bad. It was far from that. It was just that it was nowhere near as good as they were charging for it. The desserts did little to change my mind. Wakako had an artfully prepared basil lime sorbet with merengue; I had a sponge cake slathered in rum with strawberry creme on the side. Look, I've got nothing against fine French dining or expensive meals. But when the best thing about a place is the view and you're out over $300 for lunch, one tends to feel a bit of buyer's remorse. And so it was at the "Golden Goat." Oh, it turns out the place actually has 2 Michelin stars.

Yelp
The quality of this amazing place drop significantly, u fortunately. Rooms are of the level of a 3 starts hotel and the breakfast isn't good at all. It used to be a favorite place for brunch foe long thanks to the great quality of the buffet, this was a beautiful past ... we really hope the management will do something about it and bring this unique place back on the map of the best.

Yelp
The hotel is tremendous--the landscaped gardens and pools feel like paradise. I must have been dreaming. In terms of scenery, this was the highlight of a two week trip to Spain and France. The restaurant is a feat in itself, with amazing views and elegantly plated food. There were revelatory moments. I never knew a tomato could taste so good. The vegetables pistou amuse-bouche had so much flavor. Just goes to show how simple ingredients can go so far. Don't miss out, a meal here is full of sweet surprises. There is a reason why they have two Michelin stars!

Yelp
This was our 3rd visit, and least impressed. The room has not one ounce of charm once the darkness sets in. It is truly all about the view in the daylight hours. The food was very good, but very limited selection. All 6 of us had the lobster appetizer which was superb. We should have stayed with that for the dinner. Friend had the rabbit and unfortunately was sick for the next two days. We would have loved a salad, but there was none. Overpriced! Upon presenting the bill, the waiter informed us the gratuity was not included. (which it was) Be careful going down the winding staircase. Lady friend slipped at the turn and fell down the last 3 steps, the front desk pretended they saw nothing. He could have at least asked how she was. RUDE!!!

Yelp
What a beautiful chateaux with amazing view! I had an amazing meal with great service and staff. You couldn't ask for more-- delicious oysters, fish fish and yummy dessert! It wasn't crowded or loud, perfect mini getaway in a small town with absolutely amazing view & food! I highly recommend!

Yelp
We stayed at this place last night. Beautiful hotel, beautiful grounds but very unkind and racist Management. Yes you heard me right. They still exercise racism, classism and misogyny and do not treat people equally. We had requested a window table writing to the concierge on august 24 for a very special mother daughter dinner in eze. When we got there at 7:30, there was no one in the restaurant...and no one showed up for the next hour and half either. We were placed in the back of the room next to what looked to be the coat closet. The farthest table from the window. When asked to be moved, Marc Piquet, the restaurant manager very dismissively "mansplaned" to us while towering over us - with his arms held across his chest - how the window tables were booked in may and June . When I asked why I was not told we couldn't get a window table, he ridiculously said "you didn't write to me personally "! So no one shows up until 9 pm or thereabouts to claim the window seats! Then one couple asks to be moved to the window and, yes you guessed it, Marc Piquet moved them! When we asked him again his non-responsive answer was something like "I would never give you the good seats over guests who have been coming here for 40 years"! And he honestly thought that his answers were in fact justified. All the couple tables guests on the window seats were French white people. When I decided to write and let the general manager know, mr piquet comes over with the manager's card and insists that i contact him! Sure enough I did the next day and received half hearted response defending mr piquet's prejudice. If you need more info about this hotel please contact me. The ralais chateaux (owner of la chèvre dor) should do something about this discrimination and how they still live in the old days where racism, misogyny and classism were tolerated.

Yelp
You can not beat the views while dining at La Chèvre d'Or. The whole dining experience was exceptional. The food is divine. The staff is great. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Oui. Come here only if you want to remember service, food and view for the rest of your life. Incredible French dining experience with entire staff going above and beyond to give you a memory you will never forget. At the same time, they are kind and spend the time to smile and explain the wine, food...we even learned a bit about the city we were viewing from on high. Just go. :)

Yelp
Bring someone you want to share one of the most exclusive and amazing dining experiences you will ever have with, and about 500 Euro per person - trust me, you won't ever forget it. This is the restaurant that Cyrus, French Laundry, et. al. aspire to be. You'll have a glass of champagne on the terrazza before entering the main dining room. There will be views of the Mediterranean that will take your breath away. And then comes the food - and everything you thought you knew about food will change forever. Savor the moment. Breathe in, Breathe out.

Yelp
Absolutely worth the price, if not just for the ambience alone. The presentation and quality of the food coupled with the 5 star service is nothing sub par of superb! Your bound to make an afternoon of it since you'll have to go through the village with so many tempting shops and galleries to reach this gastro-haven.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Chateau de la Chevre D'Or in 2008 and had two of our very best and memorable meals here in late April. We enjoyed lunch on the terrace which is perched about 1,500 feet over the azure Mediterranean on a rock outcropping (most of the village of Eze east of Nice and west of Monaco). The food and our white Provencal wine were just lovely. Due to the wind, we moved inside for our lunch dessert of crepe Suzette (yes, old fashioned, but delectable). Then, on to dinner -- the very best meal both my husband and I have ever had. The food was artfully prepared and presented. We had the most lovely (and cheeky) Danish female server. And the sommelier was very helpful and appreciated our asking questions (he liked us much better than the loud table of other Americans (they were from Houston)) -- I even got a hug from the sommelier at the end of the night! We enjoyed a 1997 Lafite (an "off" year (92 Robert Parker), but among the best wines we've had nonetheless) which paired perfectly with the numerous courses we had. La Chevre D'Or is a 2 star Michelin restaurant -- the night after dining here, we drove to Monaco to dine at the 3 Michelin starred Louis XV (Alain Ducasse). La Chevre D'Or blew Louis XV away in terms of atmosphere (Louis XV is in the lobby of the Hotel Monte Carlo and is a old-school, fusty french restaurant -- from it's stuffy and stilted service to it's cheese cart. La Chevre D'Or was light and airy in atmosphere, whereas Louis XV was extremely hot and humid (I literally could not wait to get out of there as I was perspiring and bloated from the heat). La Chevre D'Or experience was also just hair better than The French Laundry in Yountville. We are going back to France for 3 weeks this year; I hope we make it back to La Chevre D'Or as it's the best I've experienced.

Yelp
What a gorgeous place! I wouldn't necessarily say that the food matched the view, but it was a good night anyways. Since I was dining alone, I do feel like they pushed me off to the side and prioritized couples and groups over me. I understand why they would, but I am a very serious foodie so I expected the same treatment as everyone else. Aside from my very slow service, the food was just okay. I feel that the stunning view should be seen during the day, so I will definitely come back to this gorgeous place for lunch next time. I've never seen such a breathtaking view in my life.

Yelp
One of the better of the Michelin star restaurants that we have visited but the service was a bit stuffy and rude. I was celebrating passover and could not eat flour/yeast and they "forgot" twice and I had told him I was allergic! Glad I wasn't our would have ended un in the Hospital God knows where. I also asked if they could substitute the lamb for something else and they were not accommodating at all and gave me a terrible look. Glad the beautiful view made up for their attitude. Overall worth the visit!

Sannah J.

Yelp
Food and service was amazing. We had the sea and ocean taste menu, seven lovely dishes. The last desert, "strawberries" was the best desert I ever had with homemade (of course) sorbet on a biscuit. The "gamberoni" was also something special that I wish I could eat every day. Since this restaurant is quite pricy I guess it will be a while until next full experience visit. But next time I am in Eze I will definitely drop in to the bar and try to order the strawberry desert.

Yelp
I've dined here many many times over the years with small groups and large groups of people and have never been disappointed. This is some of the best cuisine in the world and anyone who gets a chance to taste the special creations their chefs make, is beyond blessed! The views from the restaurant and castle are incredible and it's in by far the most charming and gorgeous town of Eze. I've had the best wines, ports, deserts, and food in the world here, and made some of the best memories.

Yelp
Amazing environment, fancy dishes and people, very expensive bill hehe ... Just that the service you got can be also a bit ... arrogant/ snobbish. But one waiter was very funny and made us smile.

R S.

Yelp
What a wonderful dining experience. From beginning to end everything was perfect. Special in every regard. The food was prepared beautifully and served with grace. The lunch tasting menu is a relatively affordable way to enjoy this 2 star Michelin rated restaurant and to enjoy the daytime view of the yachts below. Expect to pay $250 US per person.

Yelp
This is a 5 Star Restaurant, but because it is super expensive I knocked it down one star. We were visiting Nice, and decided to try and find a scenic place on the hills surrounding Nice. First you should know, that you will have to walk up some inclines to get to the restaurant though a mid evil village. So be prepared to make this trek if you are not staying in EZE. It is an absolutely beautiful setting on the veranda outside the hotel. They also have indoor seating as well. We were taken aback a little when the waiter came bolting over with menu's and shortly thereafter to try and take order. But as it turns out, we were not rushed, and really never saw the waiter too much during the process until we needed to order dessert. The sommelier brought over the champagne and wine list. The cheapest bottle of champagne was 110 EURO. I think he saw the sticker shock on my face and guided toward that excellent bottle at 110 EURO. The next level was over 200 EURO. The bottle was quite good. We were 4 , and my friend and I ordered the sea bass and salad and our wives ordered two appetizers. The wine list was actually not over the top price wise. We chose a bottle for about 75 EURO and finished 2 of them. Now you are in for a dime in for a dollar. We ordered two desserts and split them with our wives. The food was 5 plus stars....service was 5 star as well... Could not be anymore attentive. The issue was ... it was 600 EURO when we were done. Now, this is the most we have ever paid for a lunch.. despite the price it was almost up to that value. Being honest, we would not go back or afford to go back to La Chevre d'Or. But if you can afford it... it is well worth the experience.

Yelp
Medium rare pigeon at the top of a mountain overlooking Nice, France and the sea. Yes. Incredible service. Spectacular view. Food was amazing. Worth every penny.

R K.

Yelp
Incredible... Milk-fed lamb chops were absolutely amazing. The selection and variety of the cheese on the cheese trolley was spectacular. The staff was outstanding, very attentive but not overbearing.
