Restaurant La Forquilla | Barcelona

This is one of the most amazing restaurants I have ever been to. Small, cozy restaurant run by the chef who is the only person working there and somehow makes this an unbeliever experience. I ran out of words to describe each course, other than this is the best thing I have ever tried. The chef takes his time to explain everything and really cares that he makes you things you like. I was blown away by every single dish and really can’t wait until I’m back so I can go again. Highly highly recommend this place!

It was recommended by our hotel, and rightly so! What an experience! The place is simple, spacious, with not a lot of capacity, resembling 'quality over quantity'. Every single dish we ordered was outstanding! Every one!! Amazing! Everything was great. The chef was very adaptive, and explanative, explaining why and how he prepared each dish, and what flavour pairs with what. Definitely going back when I visit Barcelona next.

We were lucky enough to have the only booking that Tuesday evening so our party of 4 had what amounted to a private chefs table experience. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings and Vilad was absolutely amazing. He knocked it out of the park. This is a stand out establishment managed by a world class chef. Do not miss it.

Eat here. We found it by just walking by. We made a reservation for that night. It is simply perfect and amazing. We got the tasting menu and wine pairing. The description and stories we got with each course were fantastic. He clearly loves what he does. This one man show of a restaurant is inspired and wonderful, food and wine are clearly this man's passion and life. We loved it so much we went back the next night. He offered us a different tasting menu for the second night and also asked for our favorite course from the first night and he incorporated that into our second night tasting menu! Definitely eat here.

My fiancé and I are big foodies and have been to many Michelin star restaurants around the globe. The tasting course with wine pairing truly surpassed our already high expectations and was the best meal either of us have had. The chef cooks everything himself, pouring love and attention into each dish. He also serves each course and pours the paired wine while taking the time to explain it all. We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. This restaurant is not talked about enough and is deserving of the highest awards that culinary has to offer.

Amazing experience! The chef runs the entire restaurant on his own and manages to keep the patrons happy! The wine pairing was an excellent choice and probably amounted to 3 or 4 glasses in total. Also very reasonably priced. Lastly, he was able to accommodate last minute dietary restrictions with ease, which was great because I should have mentioned during the time I made the reservation.

Ordering the tasting menu with the wine pairing is a MUST. Food was served by the chef himself and each course was an absolute delight. He explained each meal in detail in Spanish for us (who wanted to practice) and had the patience to explain anything we didn't understand. My husband and I have been vacationing in southern Italy, Rome, and Barcelona for the past two weeks and this is the best food we have had. Additionally, the place was super clean with beautiful ambiance. The ingredients and wine the chef selected were of the upmost quality and flavor. All small batch, sustainable and ethically sourced ingredients and wines. An unforgettable two hour experience worth every moment and every dollar.

The best meal in Barcelona is definitely at la forquilla with Chef Vidal. The menu is well designed and balanced. If you go make sure to do a tasting menu with wine pairing. Each dish is better than the previous and wine pairing compliments its dish so well.

We had one of the best meals of our lives here! All of the dishes were innovative, beautiful and scrumptious! Easy to reach from all of Barcelona and well worth the visit. We've been fortunate to have traveled the world on business and pleasure staying in all major metro areas. La Forquilla produces delicate creative cuisine that is the best our cultures have to offer. Stumbled upon this restaurant which was around the corner from our AirBnB. Consisted of an 8-course tasting menu (three were desserts). Every single course was a culinary surprise, with unusual combinations of ingredients. This was the best meal we had while in Barcelona. We were equally impressed when we returned two days later. The menu was the same, but because we had been there, he changed it just for us. I recommend this small, one-person restaurant to anyone wanting a stand-out meal. We are recommending it to any of our friends who plan to visit Barcelona.

I would give it 6 stars if I could. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I visited in January 2014 with a friend while in Barcelona. I had found it through the great reviews on TripAdvisor. It did not disappoint. Reservations are a must. Its a very small but homey space. Only a half dozen tables. The chef Vidal is also the owner waiter and sommelier. Went with tasting menu. The whole table has to order but its divine. Each course better than the last. Highlights include sea bass, foie gras, chicken fingers, and many more. Each dish and presented and explained by Vidal. So much more personal than most high end restaurants. Worth every penny too. The tasting and one bottle of wine per person was about 120 a person. An experience you must take advantage of if you are in Barcelona. Deserving of a Michelin star!

Really fantastic find thanks to Yelp! Super small place with literally one employee. The chef, waiter and cashier. But the sea bass was the best I have ever had with artichokes and sauce. The Pork was fantastic as well. The dishes were the most beautiful we have ever seen yet tasted. The desserts were truly to die for.

Place: simple and clearly not at the level of the dish they serve! Such a shame! Product: food was very good, flavorful, balanced. Service: professional, could be warmer... Price: given the quality of the food served, I feel that it was cheap I paid about 47 euros for a starter, main course, desert, a glass of wine, a bottle of water and a herbal tea. Overall I had a delicious dinner and would have enjoyed it even more in a warmer setting.

Hola! I am not sure where to begin. Our experience was amazing from beginning to end; all around. The chef prepared our meal with such care that you could easily see the passion he has for what he does. It was really delicious. Small place. We happened to be the only one there for majority of the evening which was fine for us. It was like having a private chef. We are staying in the neighborhood and read that this was one of the top 10 places here. We now know why. Enjoy!!!!

Went here last night for dinner on our honeymoon. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing and I have to wholeheartedly agree with the other reviewers here -- one of the the best meals (if not the single best) we've EVER had! The food was incredible and the service was excellent. This is an absolute must in Barcelona! So glad we found this on Yelp.

Absolutely magnificent 10 course tasting menu. One of the best hidden culinary gems I have ever tried. Highly recommend! Every dish was art!
