"Even in the depths of a gray northern France winter, the bright dining room at L'Auberge, part of a boutique hotel in the town of Cheverny, still feels warm and inviting. The restaurant works with Loire Valley producers to serve dishes like heirloom tomatoes with basil and goat cheese or a wood-fired guinea fowl with chickpea and tomato fricassee in winter. In warm weather, eating on the terrace feels like hiding out in a secret garden, when the trellis walls of the pergola that shades the outdoor tables are covered in vine leaves." - sophie friedman

Very beautiful location, friendly staff and tasty food. Especially since it’s prepared on open fire

I had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant L'Auberge, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the entire evening. The ambiance was simply exquisite, with elegant décor and soft lighting creating an intimate atmosphere perfect for any occasion. As for the food, every dish was a culinary masterpiece, expertly prepared with the finest ingredients and bursting with flavor. Whether it was the succulent seafood, perfectly cooked steaks, or delightful vegetarian options, each bite was a symphony of taste sensations. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who anticipated our every need without being intrusive. Overall, Restaurant L'Auberge offers a dining experience that is truly exceptional, and I cannot wait to return for another unforgettable meal.

Amazing menu with creative vegetarian options. The black tomato starter was incredible. The service is very kind and attentive to details. A three-course evening menu is priced at 45 euros, which is reasonable given how high the bar is. The whole environment surrounding the restaurant is lovely and peaceful. Wanna go back ASAP!

We had a lovely lunch here during our stay in the Loire. The food was amazing (highly recommend the strawberry basil dessert) and the wine was nice too. Service was great - we’ll be back!

Had such high hopes for this place… you would think sharing a kitchen with a Michelin starred restaurant would guarantee success but it does not. The place is beautiful, we stayed at the hotel and wanted to give it a try. Salad was very nice, good wine selection, only two servers so it was a little slow service. The big let down was the main course. We got the big steak for 2.. the meat was tough, even the server struggled to slice it. Seasoned ok but with too much pepper, it was simply not the right way to cook that type of beef. Very disappointed unfortunately. Fries were good, sauce was ok.

Booked online to secure a reservation. Lots of availability (it says when it's waiting list only or full) and put 100eu on card to secure it. Turned up to an empty restaurant and was turned away by the maitre d who offered to find a space before realising we weren't guests of the hotel and then laughed at us and told us to leave. Waited 30 mins for a taxi which hotel kindly sorted. Paid 80eu to turn up and then find somewhere else. We were onsite for 45 mins and no one was in the "full" restaurant the entire time. They shouldn't offer an external booking system if they don't want non residents booking. Really disappointing and expensive experience for no food!
