One of my goals while visiting Quebec City was to have some fabulous French food, and Le Clan exceeded all expectations! I thought we were in the wrong entrance because when we walked in, the kitchen was right in front of us. Immediately, they saw that my sister- in- law was in a wheelchair and offered the chef's table, which is downstairs. All other seating is upstairs.
What a fortunate turn of events that was. We were lucky enough to watch the chefs at work. The whole staff was so warm and welcoming and our waitress, Lucy, was absolutely lovely! When my sister-in-law had to negotiate the stairs to use the restroom, the chef/ owner himself escorted her. When my sister- in- law protested, he would not take no for an answer. He simply responded, "My pleasure!"
Now the food! We had the 3 course menu which was so economical and absolutely delicious! It was as good if not better than any food I've had in Napa, San Francisco, or New York. If you have a couple of hours for a great meal and an incredible experience, you must go to Le Clan. Also, check out the table with the elm tree that grew around a cannon ball.
