Le Terminus

"The menu of this former 1900s station buffet features modern cuisine that places freshness above all other virtues! You can have lunch or dinner in the brasserie, in an intimate and cosy room, to enjoy the regional classics that have made the house so successful (pâté en croûte, quenelle de brochet, frogs' legs). There are a few guestrooms on the first floor." - Michelin Inspector

This is a difficult review to write. I stayed here twice in a week while on business travelling France visiting customers. The first visit was excellent, I arrived about 8.45pm, was able to have a lovely meal in the restaurant (last orders 9.00pm) and the room was really lovely, quaint, but well modernised whilst keeping the character with stone walls etc. Very nice balcony on to the street. I got a great night's sleep and was off early, so didn't have breakfast. The second visit, not so good. I had a room on the top floor with a small window overlooking the street and it just wasn't that great. Not the same ambience at all, no proper headboard on the bed, so you couldn't sit up in bed and lean on anything, the sliding door to the bathroom was half falling off and the light to the bathroom hidden behind the sliding door, only visible when the door was shut. The water wasn't very warm when I had my shower at 8.20 the next morning and went cold before I finished my 5 minute shower. Breakfast was OK, nothing exactly wrong with it. As is typical for France the only hot food was boiled eggs. A limited selection of pastries and a choice of about 12 jams/preserves and honeys. There was a little excellent ham which I enjoyed. So to recap first bedroom 5 stars, second bedroom 3 star, breakfast 3.5 stars and the really excellent restaurant 5 stars. Great choice of food on the menu, food came quickly and there is a good choice of wine. All restaurants overcharge for wine, and they are no exception, but the prices are reasonable compared to others. Would I go again? For the restaurant definitely, but not unless I can be guaranteed the room I had first time. Photos are of this room. They have their own parking off the station car park.

Not that cheap but still affordable. Overall just an exceptional experience .The service, the food, the location made our experience the best in a long time. The snails, the quenelles, the veal heads were just the best. Choose local dishes and don't compromise. Our red wine came from 10 miles away and carried amazing flavors. Don't even hesitate if you are in the area.

Acceptable food at a high price. Very impolite staff. Warning: families with kids are not welcomed

This hotel has some interesting rooms with nice quaint atmosphere. From our bed to the bathroom we had to stoop under a half wall. Quaint but very nice with authentic details, like a work bench serving as sink/armoire. Service is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has good food in principle, although we were a bit disappointed by the price-quality. The hotel has a private parking. Their covid-19 measures seemed adequate (people wearing face masks inside, cleaning).

We have been staying here for many years on our way South, 2 or 3 times a year. Always a warm welcome, the rooms are scrupulously clean and are in the process of being up-dated, hence some little inconveniences. Beds are comfortable, the sound-proofing and air-conditioning excellent. WiFi is hit or miss! Food is delicious. The menu and the wines are always changing. Good food and an excellent wine list are a speciality. We always look forward to dinner and to our stay here.

Excellent food, nice ambiance, not very expensive. Staff had to improvise because of unexpected rain / outside reservations wanting to dine inside. Dealt with this excellently without undue disturbance to service. Well done!

We spent one night in Le Terminus and found it to be clean, comfortable and thoroughly dog-friendly. Secure off-road parking was a bonus. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was a gastronomic experience, with diverse and interesting menu choices for every course and a vast wine list. It was certainly not a cheap meal, but one we will both remember fondly for a long time.

Lovely old Station Hotel, modernised well, but retains the old architectural features, too. Right alongside the Railway Station & on the main road through town, but still very quiet indeed. Very good restaurant is well worth a visit, or even just an appero !
