The 38 Best Restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden

"Leijontornet isn’t just one restaurant; it’s a whole city block, including indoor and outdoor wine bars, test kitchens, and a hotel. At the center is a restaurant with a very large wine cellar. “Hedonism” is the key word in the restaurant’s offerings, which include classic southern European dishes, generous cuts of meat, and large fish and seafood from the Nordic region." - Per Styregård

Leijontornet

"After a few years as Djuret, this long-established restaurant has returned to its original guise and provides heaps of old-school charm. The dining room is full of character, with armchairs, vaulted brick ceilings and candlelit tables all adding to the appeal. The cooking has heavy French and other European influences, providing bold flavours across a wide selection of generous dishes. Expect plenty of premium produce, from lobster to turbot, and an extensive, similarly luxurious wine list." - Michelin Inspector

A fantastic evening! Great food and wonderful service. I would highly recommend this place next time you are in Stockholm. We will definitely come back!

I had a great time here. The price is a bit upscale (300-400 kr per main) and the menu is maybe a little pretentious. It tasted good overall, maybe a little heavy with the seasonings. The best part was the location and atmosphere - we had a table in the cellar which had the vibe of a medieval mancave. Very cozy and private with a great sound atmosphere. The service was great and unobtrusive. I would highly recommend a visit.

Amazing experience. Large selection of premium wine served by the glass. Three course set menu. No dessert. Just as we like it. A ton of truffles. Sat in the bar. Really great atmosphere. Huge recommendation

Overall I would rate 3.5 stars considering the price level. Service was very good. Food was decent. We were seated next to the tweed bar, and found this area to be less cozy than the other rooms at the restaurant. The air was stuffy and it got quite warm.

Overall very average experience, nothing really stood out to me and the service was just bad. The food was ok but you would expect way more for the price and for the fact that on the menu each dish takes 3 lines of description. Seems like there was more effort in putting together the menu itself rather than cooking the dishes. The service was just bad, with the waiter forgetting to take my drink order, then forgetting to bring it to me, forgetting a full wine bottle in front of me after someone else at my table order just a glass of it, and more… Honestly for the way it advertise itself and for the price I wouldn’t have expected more.

What can I say? Nordic haute cuisine I guess? This establishment is a hidden gem in Stockholm. I've been to most places around town and this really blew my mind. We ate for two people and shared the dishes as this was our most preferred way of dining. Very fun and creative dishes. The complexity of the dishes were high and every herb was used in a very profound way - which matched the proposed wine in a very refined way. What ever you decided to choose, please feel comfortable asking the staff as they are very knowledgable. We had some amazing food with a good tempo between meals to enjoy conversation and sip the excellent wine. I wish we had more time for drinks and if I would have re-made this evening I would most definitely plan for pre-drink or after drinks in the bar. Extra shout out to the staff that took care of us super well. I really enjoyed walking into a strange entrance and revel in a new world. Staff 100%, raw material 100% and I really enjoyed other guests not being too much business people. Make sure to reserve a table before as it is not easy to just drop by.

6/5 experience. For starters we had ravioli and toast with scallops, both dishes were divine! Pure heaven for the taste buds. Entrecote was the best we've ever had. The atmosphere was classy and relaxed, not too posh or uptight. The waiters were super friendly and made us feel welcome. Prices were reasonable, some starters were on the pricier side but totally worth the money!
