Meister Lampe

"It's a real pleasure to eat here, and there's a good reason for that: chef-patron Daniel Stübler clearly puts his heart and soul into running his cosy little restaurant. He cooks up excellent regional and international dishes, and also does the serving himself – not only is he highly accomplished at what he does, he is also an extremely cordial host and single-handedly creates a fantastic atmosphere! The carefully curated wine list is also remarkable, featuring wines from Baden-Württemberg, Baden and the Palatinate only." - Michelin Inspector

We enjoyed our new year’s evening at meister Lampe. Food and timing were on point and it was topped with the nice personal touch of the staff. We enjoyed 5 hours of fine dining.

Excellent restaurant with phantastic tasting food...only drawback is the quite upmarket pricing in the suburbs of Stuttgart, main dishes start from 33 Euro, starters >10 Euro. However, if you are willing to spend that much you are rewarded with one of the best tasting, heart warming German style dishes you might find outside the Michelin starred restaurant. Atmosphere is nice, service very attentive.

Yelp
We were guests of a local Stuttgartian for this wonderful dinner find. Meister Lampe is a quaint restaurant with nice character. The server was pleasant and very attentive. Our meal began with a lentil horseradish soup. Not everyone enjoyed it, but I thought it was great. The other appetizer was an Allgäu mountain cheese. It had unique flavor and was good. The main course was a beef filet that had been cooked for 48 hours topped with sliced mushrooms over a delicious sauerkraut. This included a roasted dumpling (Knödel) which tasted a bit like flavorful bread or croutons pressed into a form. A little cranberry-sunflower seed sauce on the side gave this a very nice variety and flavor. The dessert was a braised apple Belgium waffle topped with a caramelized almond and chocolate-orange ice cream liquor. It was fantastic! I usually don't eat sugar or gluten, but I did for this. Excellent! My favorite wine of the evening was the 2018 Pinot Noir "Reserve" dry from the Philipp Kuhn Winery. This wine was wonderful and caused no headaches later. We had a great time here and talked for hours. Perfect atmosphere for a large party to enjoy the evening. I highly recommend

Yelp
Wow! We've lived in Stuttgart since June '21 and can't believe we've not been to this place. First, the staff was fantastic and spoke English well. They didn't have a menu in English and felt bad about it, but no worries since we have translate on our phones. Only downside was the menu online wasn't updated with the current menu. They gave us an amus' bouche of a corn soup that had a nice kick of spice at the end. Not enough to overpower. Really deft hand with the chili. As for my appetizer I got the veal calf that was lightly fried and it melted in my mouth. For my main dish I got the duck for two people. The host was a little confused by my order but I assured him I understood and wanted to order it anyways. The first duck dish was cooked to perfection. Four duck breast perfectly rendered and crisp. It came with a bread dumpling called a knodel that was amazing. My second duck dish was two legs of the duck. These were a tad overcooked but still delicious. I was not a fan of what I thought was a pumpkin mash. To finish the meal I got the plum muffin with salted caramel ice cream. This dish stole the show! Overall my mom and I loved the experience and I can't wait to bring my wife for a date night.

Yelp
German fine dining at it's best. Creative modern cuisine, tied to traditional, served professionally, with a smile. If you look for something beyond a Schnitzel, go to the Meister Lampe, and enjoy the food, the service and the fab German wines.

Yelp
Delicious food and the staff is very friendly. Wine pairings were very thoughtful and well done. The meal was a bit expensive if you get the full treatment (appetizer, wines, dessert, water, etc.), but the value was ok considering the quality of the food and portion sizes. Desserts had some room for improvement, but overall we were quite satisfied. The zwiebelrostbraten was especially good, highlight of our meal. The 48 hour sous vide steak was also very good.
