A wonderful exquisite meal. Creative, beautiful and delicious. Excellent wine list. Simple and elegant setting. Charming service. It was quite empty when we had dinner there which was surprising given the quality of the entire experience but hopefully this was a one off. Thank you.

When we arrived, the waitress had given our reserved table to another couple, so that was odd, but the rest of the evening went perfectly! The chef is so talented, that his cooking made me cry. Emotional cuisine with seasonal and fresh ingredients. Refined and obvious that a genius is behind this cooking. This is beyond food, it’s art!

A beautiful and memorable experience on the Left Bank. This tiny restaurant creates incredible food. The lovely wife of the chef made us feel welcomed and happy. Thank you for such a delicious evening.

A bit deceived because we were expecting a flavors explosion in every dish but that wasn’t the case. Although everything was good, nothing was exceptional. The restaurant lost its one Michelin star. We had the 7 courses menu. There’s a lot of work behind every dish and we know it but it’s just missing something. Menu details and dishes pictures attached to the post. The best dish was the cauliflower risotto with truffles.

Every step from the beginning till the end it was amazing!! the service was excellent, also the food! The Japanese plum wine was stunning 😍 Tuna tartar was shining star for the menu. High quality and every taste was a small party in the mouth! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Excellent restaurant! In some booking services shown as French cousin, but its not quite that. Rather, it's international/creative/fusion. We had 10 courses dinner, everything was very good. Wine list is reasonably priced.

Rising star chef Yakayuki Nameura brings Japanese ingredients and techniques to modern fresh cuisine. Great little gem. Especially loved the tomato sorbet, the smoked tapioca fois gras, and the lamb with morsel and wild asparagus

Yelp
Milestone birthdays should be celebrated, and what better way to celebrate than to enjoy a Michelin star meal in Paris? Especially when the birthday person has never eaten at a Michelin star restaurant and loves food :) Montée is a tiny 15 seat restaurant in the 14th and is now under the helm of Takayuki Nameura. Its status in the culinary world is very well merited. They offer a lunch or dinner menu that is set by whatever is is in season and / or ignites the chef's creative fire. Dinner is 10 courses, but they served 2 additional amuse-bouche and because it was a birthday celebration, they also presented us with a birthday plate. I chose a lovely 2014 Graves that was mid range priced to accompany the meal and we took Le Cab there and back so that we could enjoy the entire bottle :) I neglected to take a picture of the veal/spinach schnitzel, probably because it was one of my favorite courses and I enjoyed it so much I completely forgot about documenting it, but that is a good sign of living in the moment, rather than seeking to preserve it. Enjoy the feast with your eyes until you can get there to feast your palate on these incredible flavors. Multi layer amuse bouche, another amuse bouche with candied walnuts, dried shitake, and puff pastry, tomato ice and corn souffle, blue lobster, cashew, and caviar, foie gras, banana, and smoke, cod, potato, and sorrel, white asparagus, almond, and chives, flounder and leek, amazing veal, spinach and schnitzel that I forgot to photograph, then an apple, cider and saffron dessert, chocolat, crisp powdered sugar oreillettes. The total price for dinner was about the price of a luxury car payment and worth every centime :)

Yelp
When you're on vacation you have to indulge and treat yourself. For my big treat I wanted to try my first ever Michelin-starred restaurant. For a long time I thought that I would have to win the lottery before I could ever afford a Michelin-starred restaurant but the trick is to go at lunch when many of these places offer menus prix-fixes that are more affordable than their dinner menus. Montée is owned by a Japanese chef who has a love of French food. The restaurant is very simple and very small so it is wise to reserve well in advance to be sure that you get a table here. On weekdays they offer a three course menu for only 40 euros which is very reasonable for a Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris. The menu varies depending on the day. Our entree was an avocado crab dish. Everything was beautifully plated and tasted wonderful. The crab was so tender and delicate. From there we enjoyed a delicious orange duck which which was so well balanced in flavour and cooked to perfection. That was finished with a pineapple, mango cream dessert which was light and airy and very refreshing. Another thing that Montée does well is service, which was simply impeccable. Throughout the meal our waitress paid great attention to us making sure that we never had to wait long for anything. Considering she was handling the entire restaurant, which was full at the time, alone this was impressive. Upon leaving my friend forgot his bag here, but she was quick to notice this and actually ran out of the restaurant and down the street to return it to him. Many restaurants would have simply left it in the lost and found in the hopes that the owner would come back looking for it. Thank you Restaurant Montee for making my first Michelin experience a memorable one. My only wish is that I found myself in Paris more often so I could come back here and indulge more often. It was a fantastic find.

Yelp
This was the best meal and experience we had in Paris - and we even went to another Michelin starred restaurant. The food was simply amazing, as was the service. Montee is a tiny restaurant, with a handful of tables. The chef is from Japan, and you can see the Japanese influence in the decor (simple, clean), service (phenomenal, very attentive) and most importantly, the food. Like some of the other reviewers, we also went for lunch. This is literally such a steal. I almost felt guilty, given the amount of detail that went into the preparation of this meal. We ordered the 4 dishes + 2 desserts for 55 euros. We also had two glasses of wine, which were reasonably priced. They did charge for water, which we didn't know until the end. I wasn't upset though, because the price was so reasonable. Every dish was flavourful, perfectly balanced, creative and somehow light. I will talk about some of the standout dishes. I was initially turned off by a raw scallop, but this was like no other scallop salad. The scallop was perfectly sliced with a great texture, and was paired nicely with vegetables and a raw-ish sauce. One of my favourite dishes was a take on a baked potato (on a tiny scale) with a garlicky, parmesan cod sauce. Yes, cod! It was phenomenal and so unique. The best dish by far was the lamb confit, with a parmesan broth sauce. Words can't describe it. The desserts were fresh and delicious. This was one of the best meals I've ever had. The chef is extremely talented - he even came out at the end of the meal. Beautiful meal. You need to go - and make a reservation! If we are back in Paris, we will go for dinner.

Yelp
A Japanese chef (from Kobe in this case) shares his love of French food in this establishment. His graphic, meticulously crafted dishes are rich in distinctive flavours, revealing his undisputed skill, know-how and personality. Finally, the stripped-back décor further enhances and amplified to the culinary experience.

Yelp
I am so glad I found this place, it's a small restaurant but the atmosphere is very comfy and cosy. we came for lunch tasting menu which was €40, a very good price for such wonderful food!

Yelp
Wow, what a great discovery. We had some great meals during our most recent week in Paris, but this was perhaps the most memorable. Small, cozy dining room with the most hospitable service. We went for lunch, and their 40EUR menu is an absolute steal for what you're getting. Highly recommended -- go now before prices go up and reservations become scarce.
