Restaurant Roots

From arriving we were very well taken care of. Everything was explained, how the menu worked, the options available eg. Vegetarian, The Wine Flight Option (recommend,by the way), any allergies etc. We were very entertained by our waiter with stories and history of the creation of Roots and thoroughly enjoyed but above all recommend the experience as it is an experience, not just a meal!!! J&H

We went to this restaurant for our 10y anniversary and it was absolutely delicious. The food was stunning and service fantastic. It was course after course of amazing food and the drink suggestions to go with the courses were spot on. Any foodies in the surrounding area, go here, check it out, and have a lovely relaxing evening with food you won’t forget! We even had a little goodie bag with a copy of the menu to take back with us too. 100% will come back.

Yesterday we had a special culinary experience at Restaurant Roots. Fantastic flavors, textures, and beautiful presentation, and Géza took care of us like a true host 🍸 If you can, try the fine dining experience, it is truly special. If anyone is still hungry after such a menu…. No that’s impossible 😊

Roots Restaurant Southbourne, Bmth Sunday 16th Feb 2025 Fine dining at its best !! Bournemouth is a really difficult place to find somewhere special......there's plenty of casual eateries in town and surrounding areas, but no fine dining of any significance.......those that exist all lack what Roots has in abundance in our opinion. WELL, LOOK NO FURTHER. Visit ROOTS !! I'm not sure why Roots and the team haven't received the coveted Michelin Stars they deserve, but this restaurant is not to be missed ! It's excellent...... it's exclusive with a set amount of covers for service, which creates intigue and interest (menu changes monthly we undertand) ! The atmoshere is subtle, minimalistic, classy, and sophisticated. The food is excellent and catered for our every need.....including a food allergy. The service is terrific, excellent knowledge, and persuasive techniques to challenge your taste buds and create curiosity to try and experience the wide selection of food/drink available. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Roots. So much effort, courtesy, and attention to detail means we will return ! It's an excellent unrushed experience. Excellent service. The food was very tasty and well presented to our table. The experience was good. This is the second time we were there (this time for San Valentine day). We recommended the place for couple dates.

I stopped by today for the lunch tasting menu, and wow it went beyond all my expectations! The flavours were incredible, including some I’d never tried before, which made the experience even more exciting. The quality of the food was outstanding, and for the price, it’s an absolute steal. Amazing value for money! I’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Had a wonderful lunch at Roots. We have been before, but many years ago. The food, drinks and service are all still top quality. Culinary delights that will entice the senses and tantalise the tastebuds. A very inventive chef who works hard to create wonderful menus. Thank you to all the team for an amazing lunch. We will be back.

I would give this restaurant 6 stars if I could. The most wonderful experience all round - faultless service, food, drinks and atmosphere. I would highly recommend Roots to anyone looking for a wonderful meal out. This place is special enough to feel like a once in a while treat/occasion, but welcoming enough to feel like you’re going to your local neighbourhood restaurant. Perfection all round. Thanks so much, we can’t wait to come back!!!
