A very intimate dining experience but plenty of atmosphere given how well the team operate. Everything is effortless, well coordinated and the staff are all entertaining and make a huge effort to create a memorable experience.
The restaurant is also quite casual, which makes for a more comfortable evening whilst you’re there to enjoy delicious food!
We went as a group of 4 to celebrate 2 birthdays and had every course and the wine flight. The optional cheese course is a must! Extremely enjoyable evening and super impressive food!

We couldn't have had a better dining experience at Roots. The service was brilliant, we were talked through all of our courses and given options for wine to compliment the food on the menu. We chose the signature menu which was 14 courses of outstanding plates of food that combined and array of tastes and textures that left us very satisfied customers. I'd recommend an evening experience at Roots to anyone who enjoy really great food.

We went to this restaurant for our 10y anniversary and it was absolutely delicious. The food was stunning and service fantastic. It was course after course of amazing food and the drink suggestions to go with the courses were spot on.
Any foodies in the surrounding area, go here, check it out, and have a lovely relaxing evening with food you won’t forget!
We even had a little goodie bag with a copy of the menu to take back with us too.

From arriving we were very well taken care of. Everything was explained, how the menu worked, the options available eg. Vegetarian, The Wine Flight Option (recommend,by the way), any allergies etc. We were very entertained by our waiter with stories and history of the creation of Roots and thoroughly enjoyed but above all recommend the experience as it is an experience, not just a meal!!!

One of the best wellington I had- the beef is tender outside but also pinky and juicy at the inside! Great effort from the chief. Roasted potatoes are done with perfection. The roasted mooli was also surprisingly delicious!
Ham hock & duck liver tastes good on its own, however, the purée did not go well with them - the mixed flavour was too confusing for me.
Anyway, still one of the spots in Bournemouth not to miss!!!

Yesterday we had a special culinary experience at Restaurant Roots. Fantastic flavors, textures, and beautiful presentation, and Géza took care of us like a true host 🍸
If you can, try the fine dining experience, it is truly special. If anyone is still hungry after such a menu…. No that’s impossible 😊

The food was so tasty, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The flavours were fantastic and comparable with anything we’ve had in Michelin starred restaurants (Roots should be awarded a star of its own in addition to being in the Michelin guide). We also would really like to thank Geza for his welcome, attention, and lovely wine recommendations. We really enjoyed chatting with him over the evening and felt he and Chef Patron Jan made an incredible team! We would highly recommend for anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience, a real gem!

We had the most beautiful, delicious tasting menu at Roots. We also had the wine paring, which was definitely worth it. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. If you are a foodie, this is the place to go for a special occasion.
