Where to Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Located inside the W Hotel, this swanky choice is hosting a New Year’s Eve ‘Disco Festa’. The five-course tasting menu includes Italian plates like a charcuterie board to start, pappardelle with rabbit leg confit to follow, and stuffed calamari as a main, plus a glass of champagne at midnight for $125. Reservations can be made on their website." - Erinn Blicher

The Best Food Events and Deals at Montréal en Lumière 2020 | Eater Montreal

"Chef Paul Burgalières of two Michelin starred restaurant L’Enclume (rated the top restaurant in the UK in that country’s Good Food Guide) will be at the W Hotel’s on-site restaurant February 28 and 29 in the evenings. While Tbsp. is usually an Italian spot, it’ll pivot to modern British fare for the evening, with a seven-course menu at $110 ($165 with wine), tax and tip not included. https://www.montrealenlumiere.com/Gastronomie/Lieu/465" - Tim Forster

Taco Restaurant Escondite Opens in the West Island | Eater Montreal

"At the W Hotel in Old Montreal I tried Tbsp. (that’s “Tablespoon”), a new on-site Italian restaurant helmed by chef Joris Larigaldie, who has experience with Europea and international names like the Fat Duck. Most dishes keep things simple — examples include duck breast with pear mostarda and radicchio, and lobster cavatelli with creamy white wine sauce and cabbage — with most substantial dishes clocking in around the $30 mark; the space, designed by Sid Lee Architects, leans sleek and modern balanced out with some natural textures." - Tim Forster

Google
Good restaurant located between Old Montreal and downtown Montreal. It has a very calm atmosphere, low noise level, and beautiful décor. The service was excellent. The only thing I must mention is that the food was always served cold. I visited three times: once for breakfast, once for lunch, and once for dinner, and on all three occasions the dishes were excessively cold. A cold steak, where even the fat was already cold, was not a good experience. This might explain why the restaurant itself always felt cold. Perhaps this is something they should take into consideration. Aside from that, the service was excellent. The place is very nice, and I would recommend it for couples, as it is quite quiet and romantic.

Google
Wandered in on a cold day, and found this chic, unassuming restaurant. The food was stellar and service was great. The waitress was super attentive, and helpful. I got the eggs Benedict and it came on the most perfectly toasted sesame seed bagel. The potatoes were well seasoned and it came with fresh fruit. I got a sweet Caroline to drink, and definitely recommend.

Had dinner here because it was included in my hotel stay. They let me choose from 2 menus because their bar (Living Room) was combined with their restaurant (Tbsp). Although service was very friendly, I wasn’t too impressed with the food. It was good but overpriced for what it is, especially the Cauliflower Variation which, although very pretty, turned out to just be a fried ring made of cauliflower. The only dish that stood out was the Fried Brussels Sprout Salad, a twist on the classic Caesar salad. It wasn’t as nicely presented as the cauliflower dish, but is it worth $23? Not in my book. Déclinaison de Chou-Fleur (Cauliflower Variation) 6/10 Salade de Choux de Bruxelles Frits (Fried Brussels Sprout Salad) 8/10 Flétan Poché au Lait d’Avoine (Oat Milk-Poached Halibut) 7/10 Wagyu Burger 7/10

WOW ! Had a great time with a friend at this restaurant but we ate in the lobby of the W hotel to enjoyed the night with a DJ, very nice. Food and drinks were delicious and gourmet, service impeccable and the ambiance was the best of all, we ate, drank and dance, highly recommend !

This restaurant features a bold and experimental menu that leans into creativity. Some dishes were definite highlights, while others may be an acquired taste — nothing was bad, but it’s the kind of place where an open mind goes a long way. The service was excellent. Our servers were professional, knowledgeable, and patient — they described the dishes clearly, answered every question, and took accurate orders for a large group of 14, which was impressive. We dined in a private room, which had its pros and cons. The heavy door (though lacking a doorknob) provided some barrier against the main dining area’s music, but it was still noticeably loud at times. On the plus side, the room had its own AC, which allowed us to adjust the temperature and stay comfortable. Overall, this is a great spot if you’re open to trying creative, non-traditional dishes, and you’ll definitely be well taken care of by the staff. Just be prepared for a lively — and possibly loud — atmosphere.

Google
Tbsp was a splendid experience, from the food to service it was impeccable. Jamie our server took time to explain the food items and was very engaging throughout our visit.

Google
Tbsp. is an experience that I think about a lot. I went in the late afternoon to celebrate an event, so I was willing to try many things. For appetizers, we got the foccacia. It was so soft, served in a hot pan with creamy mozzarella on top. For main, I tried the ravioli filled with squash, garnished with crispy green apples and nuts. My partner got a steak. Let me tell you, the ravioli changed my life. This was the best dish I've ever had recently. The squash filling was so full of flavor, absolutely delicious. For a change of texture, I bit into the sour green apples and walnuts, each bite providing such a burst of flavors. The dish was well balanced and well thought out. The service was great, and the atmosphere overlooked the small park outside Square Victoria metro. But truly, the best part of this restaurant was the food. I am so thrilled to show more people this restaurant. Overall, I loved my time here, and I will be coming back.

Google
Friendly atmosphere. Waiters from the restaurant are well behaved and polite with an all time smile in their face. I cannot comment much on the food, all were new to me. I tried quinoa with grilled chicken, it tastes good.

Yelp
We borrowed a conference room to work and enjoyed a delightful Italian lunch. The arancini was cooked perfectly, the ricotta gnocchi was very creative. The deconstructed cheesecake was a pipped mousse with fresh strawberries and raspberries. We used a private dining room for a working lunch and were well taken care of by the staff.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch on Thursday. Wow. Local sourced cheese and meats w our starter charcuterie. Mmmm. Lunch special corn soup, yes, yes so smooth and flavorful, sea bass on a chili bed of corn, garbanzo and lentils. Wow! Sea bass, baby that was good fish. We are in the hotel and it is a highlight

Yelp
Delicious food service and ambiance! I started with the Beet Carpaccio - a vegan starter of shaved beets, cashew cream and micro greens. For the entree, the server recommended the Ricotta and Broccoli Stuffed Agnolotti and it was delicious! I finished with the Tiramisu (also recommended) and was so happy with it all!

Yelp
Service was extremely slow for a slower evening. We didn't see our waiter for half an hour before ordering. I had the vegan options, and both were... creative. But they were not overly exciting and especially not filling for the price. The vegan appetizer was undercooked leeks and hard to eat, and the cauliflower steak is tiny. The ambiance was quite nice and if you don't have a dietary restriction the consensus that the food was really good and had adequate portion sizes. If you are vegetarian or vegan, pack a snack.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh, 'treating myself to a great dinner' place to go to with loved ones. I've been so surprised by the low star ratings here and on google. It's probably due to people having different expectations of the experience, so I'll give my review some context. Post 2020, dining in at a resto is a treat for us. We don't like to be rushed in and out, or to be elbow to elbow with other diners. We want to relax, enjoy being out, and feel allowed to savour and take our time. So I loveeeee this place, especially the booths which have a decent distance between them for more private conversations. The tasting menus are a great deal; you should plan to be here 2-2.5 hours for them. (Also, why would you want to eat four courses in a smaller span of time? You need time between courses so that you are mentally and physically ready for more indulgence!)

Yelp
Today I went to the new restaurant of the W Hotel, TBSP, located next to the Square Victoria Station. This location has changed banner so many times in a short period of time that I was really curious to see the different twist that they would be coming up with. I went there on a Friday around noon, the restaurant was empty, the decor is very modern and the service was excellent from the beginning to the end. I ordered from the 26$ table d'hôte menu which comes with an entree and a main course, for an additional 9$ I also added an espresso and the dessert of the day which was a tiramisu. I felt it was a nice lunch option, I wasn't wowed by the dishes but they tasted good. I'd have to try their dinner menu to see the difference though. I recommend if you're in the area during lunch.

Yelp
Great restaurant with fantastic, attentive staff! Highly recommend this hidden gem in the W hotel!

Yelp
Ambience and service 5/5, but unfortunately the food was lacking. The antipasto was delicious along with the focaccia and mozzarella sticks to start, but the carrot risotto was too salty and the sea bass was very very small. Disappointing considering it's the restaurant attached to the W hotel.

Yelp
My review may not reflect the true nature of this restaurant as other reviewers' pictures seem to show a better experience than I had. The restaurant was in a partial re-opening, with very limited menu and wine selection. Overall, it was decent, with service a bit slow. I would give it 3.5 if I could.
