"Located right in the town centre, this spruce inn has an eventful history that stretches back to 1800. The success of this inviting family-run restaurant now lies in the hands of Florian Wörgötter, who represents the third generation. Working alongside his father, Mathias, he uses seasonal produce to rustle up Austrian classics with a judicious modern twist. Dishes such as trout fillet with tender wheat, chicory and fennel, or Mariazell venison ragout with sour cream spaetzle, mushrooms and red cabbage are simply delicious. The latter proposes creative, modern cuisine that draws on international influences. At the helm in the kitchen, Florian Wörgötter represents the third generation of the family and is supported by his father Mathias. The reasonably priced surprise menu impresses with well thought-out combinations that create interesting contrasts and are packed with wonderful flavours: yellowfin tuna, beer radish, jalapeño, shiso, or pork greaves, gyoza, pointed cabbage, brown butter. Select a bottle from the nicely curated wine list, or opt for harmonious wine pairings by the glass to set off the menu perfectly. Guests take their seats in the elegantly decorated rooms or, in summer, out on the terrace in front of the building.
