A New Vegan Birria Pop-Up Debuts in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"A Northwest Dallas pop-up serving vegan birria tacos that replace traditional braised meat with jackfruit, a fruit noted for a pulled-pork–like texture and flavor. The tacos emulate the birria format—jus- and cheese-drenched tortillas—but use plant-based filling; orders are available by preorder (menu posted on the pop-up’s website starting August 18) with pick-up or service on Saturdays only and preorders taken Tuesday through Friday." - Brittanie Shey

Google
Man honestly this place is so under rated the food is pretty good for authentic Latin food the breakfast is what i got and it was very good! this is a hidden gem lowkey! home made tortillas are amazing! it’s more of a Salvadoran Latin food so if you’re looking for that in oak cliff don’t miss it! Try the horchata too you have to get it it’s actually real and not made from powder pack!!! They also make fresh bread daily! Don’t forget you have to have patience since the food is made by order

The staff is friendly. The salsa has a good flavor, and the beans are amazing. The pupusas were over cooked.

we use to love this restaurant but not anymore. First time we had a bad experience was last week when we went in and got a bad waitress. My mom asked for something in the menu and the person who was sitting us, with a bad attitude, said we don't serve that anymore. We didn't like her attitude so we left without ordering or saying anything. Today we did a phone order to pick up. When we got to the restaurant the lady taking payments said they had sold our order of tamales to someone else because they weren't sure if we were picking them up. On the phone they told us it would take 25 minutes for picked up so how did they just sold our order to someone else. So we had to wait more time for our order to be prepared and than to find out we didn't get all the tamales we order because they only had 9 left. They didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I don't know how they still have good ratings.

Maaaaaannnnn I usto order here all the time just as pick up order tho. (Over the phone ) I ordered in person this time and waited inside. While I was waiting ROACHES started coming out from in between the table and a pregnant big roach ran across from the back table to a table by the register (front) 🤮 On top of the register lady acknowledging your there she’s on her phone or chismeando

I hadn't seen a menu posted so went ahead to snap up a few pictures. I love this place some of the best food I've had in Dallas. Best pupusas hands down, yuca fries with the black beans and crema 🥰😍 The staff is always friendly and they do take call ahead orders.

Google
Best pupusas I’ve ever had! I always get minimum 10 and I have to get a extra sauce! It’s best that you call ahead and order your pupusas before you get there or you’ll be waiting. (I always spend $20 just getting 10 pupusas and the sauce.) ❤️

Yelp
This place was amazing the setup was really nice and cultured they had a lot of different flavored drinks they don't sell in the store my burrito only has bean rice and the spicy vegetables cause I don't eat meat and cheese it was worth going back and also making a Yelp review 5 STARS highly recommend

Yelp
The wait time is so long I ordered five Pupusas that could've took 15 minutes but I've been here for about 45 minutes

Yelp
The popusas are great. Only set back is that Oder was not ready. I ordered 25 popusas at 11:25, told them I would pick up at 12:15 and I am still waiting for the order to be complete at 12:30. Just saying, other than that it's a great place to eat

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is consistently delicious and fast preparation. Out of all the Salvadoran restaurants in Dallas, they have the best Chicharrónes y Yucca Frita and Chicharrón y Frijoles con Queso pupusas. If you haven't tried this place, check it out ASAP! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Horrible service, the waitress had a horrible attitude, all the restaurants that I have gone this is by far the worst one. Would ask simple questions and would get attitude with the answer, the potatoes on my plate looked like they were made from a day before just everything was awful would not be coming back.

Yelp
This place saved our hungry ass lives on christmas day! We stumbled upon this place while looking for any open restaurants in that area. While it may look like a shady place from the outside, but their food is A1. The best mexican food I had so far. The servers were very friendly and nice. Only downside? they dont accept credit/debit. only cash, but thats worth the amazing food they serve you.

Yelp
We like dining here when we are in the area. Very delicious Salvadoran Mariscada (seafood soup) tastes just like my grandma's.

Yelp
We walked in & sat down. The waitress didn't greet us she just can over & asked what we wanted to drink. Seems like she wasn't interested in being there. All we ordered were 10 pupusas and chicken nuggets with fries. It took so long for the food to come out. Ridiculously long!! There were only two other tables occupied when we walked in. The pupusas were just ok. They were very thin & small. I was ready to pay but she never came back after she brought out our food. So I stood at the register for maybe 8 minuets until she finally came out from the back. Terrible customer service.

Yelp
How does this place only have a couple of reviews? After exploring Oak Cliff, we decided we wanted to eat Salvadoran food. I've been to El Salvador before and hand made papusas with a couple of little old ladies who have done it their entire lives, so it was refreshing to find an authentic place in Dallas that brought me back to that time. Gloria's is the famous chain restaurant, but Gloria's doesn't even compare to places like this. The fried plantains where amazing, the pambazo sandwich (just google it) was one of the best sandwiches I've had and the papusa's were great! I'd HIGHLY recommend leaving with a slice of the plantain bread dessert. It's $2 and its a huge slice and you will not regret it. It tasted to me like a plantain bread pudding. I just wish I knew the name of it...

Yelp
Having become addicted to Salvadorian food, I was saddened when my favorite , Gloria's in Oak Cliff went all upscale and valet park-y. This new one still has a vinyl banner for a sign and this is our second trip there. The first was for breakfast and it was good but different from others and not the Migas and Chiliquilas that I was used to but still very good. Dinner tonight was really great. The service was good but we were the only patrons at the time. I had Pechuga De Polo and my wife had the mini sampler consisting of Pupas, Plantain, a Chicken Tamale, salad and Creama Salvador. It was all really good and our waitress was friendly and helpful. Dinner for two with two Iced Teas came out to $21.00 which was great as well. The atmosphere wasn't much to write home about. Glass storefront space with little decoration and two flat screen TVs in the dining area. We enjoyed dinner and will definitely be visiting them again.

Yelp
I actually hate this place they always take forever and I placed an order through the phone they said it would be ready in 20 minutes I arrived and they told me they hadn't placed it -_-
