If I could rate Abya 10 stars, I would. My wife and I made reservations months in advance to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, after having looked at different options in Madrid. We decided on Abya, as the atmosphere seemed nice, and the menu looked varied, interesting, and very much in line with our taste. And Im so glad we were so right!
The service was excellent throughout the night, from the moment the taxi dropped us off, to the server taking us to our table, and getting recommendations on wine pairings, and helping us decide on the best dish options. Every recommendation was on point, and matched our taste really well.
The food was the star of the show, and it really felt that every dish exceeded our expectations. We went for the tabla de Ibérico to start, and it was very likely the best Ibérico ham we've tasted. Next up were the langoustine rolls. These were tasty, fresh, with a hint of salt from the soy, and the taste of the langoustine always coming through. Next, their famous croquetas. They live up to their name. The ham on top is far from a garnish, it does seal the experience of each bite. The croquetas themselves were spectacular. Ill have a hard time having any others! Then, the Solomillo de Vaca Nacional with truffle cheese fries. Very tasty, not greasy at all, with a nice salty taste in the crust. We finished off with a tarta de queso (cheesecake). Some restaurants overlook desserts. Abya does not. Their attention to detail in crafting such a perfect way to end the evening shows just how much they care.
We will definitively make it a habit to make time to visit Abya whenever we visit Spain again. We could not have asked for a better way to celebrate 10 years of memories, love, and companionship. Thanks!
