The 35 Best Restaurants in São Paulo, Brazil | Eater

"Aizomê has established Telma Shiraishi as a prominent female chef in the male-dominated sushi industry and earned her recognition from the government of Japan as an ambassador for Japanese cuisine in Brazil. In her airy, charming restaurant in Jardins, she serves an omakase alongside hot dishes, available in the dining room and in private spaces outfitted with tatami mats. Shiraishi’s cooking is technical and delicate, like her golden, crispy tempura or black cod with miso. Everything pairs well with a great selection of teas, including cold matcha and hōjicha." - Rafael Tonon

Visited while on Business in São Paulo, 5 minutes from the Hilton Canopy. Sushi was amazing, very fresh and delicious. Service was also top notch. Highly recommended

A good intro to omakase .. simple dishes. I wished they had more flavor and variety. If you are an experienced person in omakase, then this restaurant isn’t for you.

I stopped by for lunch after I had visited the Japan House. I by myself so I was promptly seated though it was at the shared table, but I didn’t mind. At that point it was still fairly early and it wasn’t too crowded yet. I ordered a regular sushi plate which came with so much more than I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was super fresh and the flavors were unbelievable. It was more than enough food for one person. The wait staff was friendly, but it was a little difficult to get their attention. I ended up spending about an hour and a half almost two hours from the minute I sat down until I left. The space was very pleasant and though the prices were a little high, everything was very obviously of high quality. In total I spent about R$200 for one person, but I got a sushi plate, a water, a lemonade, and dessert. I think this place is worth checking out, but keep in mind they only do lunch!

Top restaurant. Really good food and service. Around €60 per person to enjoy a nice option

Their ambiance, hospitality and authentic dishes made me feel like I was back in Japan! The omakase 5-dish course was perfect for me. They also have 7-dish course which comes with a lot of food. Chawanmushi(a steamed egg custard) Sashimi, Hot soba with tempra were really what I was looking for! Little pricy to be honest however it’s a great place to treat ourselves:)

Ignore the Michelin guide: just come here. The food was some of the best, with stunning attention to detail by the sushi chef at the bar. The sides other than the amuse were forgetable. The fish was very fresh and the cuts were precise. The only downside was the ambiance downstairs by the sushi bar, there was just far too much foot traffic by the staff to be tranquil.

Great spot with an amazing Omakase. The interior design and decor is traditional Japanese with bamboo. Takes time between courses so don't come starving.

Yelp
Every single thing I tried here was amazing. Super low key house on a small street with the best Japanese food in the city and amazing service. Tasting menu is on point.

Yelp
The food is delicious. The service is abysmal. I ordered from the English menu, and the waitress asked me, "where did you get that menu? That is not our menu." This is the same menu I scanned on their table. It went downhill from there. I told here that this was the menu I scanned on the table and she looked at me perturbed. I then ordered the Wagyu beef on rice, and she said there is no beef. I asked surprised, "no beef? No kidding?" So I turned back to the sushi. Then she said, "why don't you order the grilled beef." I said, "oh, you have beef. Okay, I will have that, then." And she walked off again. This place is *NOT* ready for international travelers. The food is great. The wait staff is a disaster. Lamentable.

Yelp
I was really disappointed. Went with my husband for his birthday. very noisy, the waiter said they asked the shouting people at the table nearby to quiet down, but I guess the staff just gave up after that, because the people at the table kept shouting and I never saw the waiters say anything to them. I had the five course tasting menu, for about $55, left hungry. The waiters were nice, but didn't explain much about the choices and a lot of time passed between courses. My main course, wagyu beef, was lukewarm, as was all the other food on the plate except the potato purée. The waiter said it was supposed to be lukewarm. The potato purée was cold and gluey. The waiter said it was supposed to be gluey. he didn't say anything at all when I said it was cold. So 900 reais, about $180, for two people for lukewarm food in a noisy place with not very attentive waitstaff. Either we got them on a bad night or this place is wildly overrated. I'll never go back.
