Restaurante Allegar

This was amazing and I think worthy on 1 Michellin star. The dishes were beautifully presented and they share a map of the Rioja region to show where the ingredients from each dish come from. All dishes were delicious and the “short trip” menu was more than enough food. The restaurant’s design is beautiful and the staff super friendly. My husband and I loved the experience and would definitely come back.

We had a wonderful dinner at Restaurante Allegar. They act as if they are a Michelin one-star restaurant and I think this place deserves that distinction. The food was local, fresh, and prepared perfectly. Best lamb shoulder I have ever tasted. All of the other food, from the starters to dessert, were interesting and delicious. Excellent wine list, especially of Rioja wines (but not only wines from that region). The service also was first-rate -- the waiters and other staff are very well trained, and our waiter also had excellent suggestions for wine. The atmosphere is very sleek and polished, but also comfortable and relaxing with soft colors and wood. Highly recommend.

Excellent service, food, and wine. One of the best I have had. I drove down from a week in Bordeaux and wanted a quiet night alone. I was an English speaking single diner without a reservation, and I felt absolutely welcome and spoiled. Thank you to the front desk gentleman, the sommelier, the service team, and the chefs. It was a night to remember.

I will remember this meal and this boutique hotel for a long time. I still remember the taste of the meal, the atmosphere, the staff and the exquisite service to this day. We drove almost half hour for our reservation to this restaurant and it was so worth it! We had the set meal with wine pairing and this restaurant is one of the best! Highly recommend!

Amazing restaurant, the food was so good that we decided to change to a long set menu from a short one halfway through. The amount of food was just right with smaller portions but allowing to taste many different dishes. The service was impeccable. One of the best meals I can remember!

I don’t often write reviews but this place deserves it. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Even more so if you consider the amount they charge. In the Netherlands (where I live) you would get crappy service and food nowhere near this quality and style for the same price.

Superb tasting menu and service. Beats many of the Michelin star restaurants on our trip to Spain and Portugal. The restaurant and hotel are hidden gems in La Rioja!
