O'Pazo

"If you’re unfamiliar with O’Pazo, one of Galicia’s most renowned restaurants for grilled cuisine, you’re long overdue a visit to dine in this unique space created by the Vidal brothers (with Óscar in the kitchen and Manuel in the dining room), where everything revolves around the wood-fired grill. This charming property located next to the main road boasts an elegant interior design featuring an abundance of dark wood, providing the backdrop for traditionally based cuisine that is mainly served as part of the Rescaldo tasting menu. Despite the apparently simple grilled approach to cooking, the end result is a gourmet experience of the highest level which showcases Atlantic fish and seafood, produce from the fields around Padrón and, above all, the native Rubia Gallega breed of cattle. The superb T-bone steak and the aged red bream are a must!" - Michelin Inspector

Excellent food with top quality local ingredients and inventive preparations! The attention from the staff was accommodating and impeccable. The dining room setting is sublime and exceeds its Michelin rating. Without a doubt an essential stop for any foodie visiting the Santiago area.

Thank you for the great hospitality and culinary experience, the wonderful local food within this incredibly well designed mix of old Galician classic and modern Spanish set up.

A must visit. Very good service, English was no problem. We could not take a wine pairing as we went by car. Highlight was the chuleton, perfectly grilled, but all other dishes are well executed as well. Using many local ingredients, so expect a lot of seafood.

Recently awarded with a well-deserved Michelin star, O Pazo is also specialised on family events but the place to be is the more gastronomic option in a renovated and cozy small saloon. Superb product including seafood and its famous steak, grill is the king here. Relevant wine list at affordable prices and kind service for a great overall experience.

In a slightly off the beat and track location lies an absolute culinary gem! If you want to be introduced to Galician cuisine at its finest look no further. Everything was presented and cooked to perfection, and we were very lucky to be able to try the goose barnacles! Thank you for such a lovely afternoon! Unfortunately Google wouldn’t allow me to post any pictures, but the food was fabulous!

3.5 Very large portions for a tasting menu, too much for me, may well be considered a positive by some. Reasonably broad wine selection. Menu relatively pricey, but then no charge for water, coffee, beers. Beautiful dining room and patio.

Undoubtedly one of the best meals of our lives and we have been fortunate to have many excellent meals. The tasting menu is generous, well thought out and luxe - a great introduction to all the bounty that Galicia has to offer. The bonito, lobster, and chuleton (steak) were standouts among standouts. Service was warm and unpretentious. We can only hope we have the chance to go again.
