I was very disappointed because we were not informed upfront that the restaurant wasn't fully functional on Sundays. When we arrived at the hotel on a Sunday, we didn't have a second chance to try the well-advertised cuisine. We were given a short menu with very limited choices. The "fresh bread with tomatoes, garlic, and oil" turned out to be a plate with toasted pieces of baguette, a small uncut tomato, an unpeeled garlic clove, and a prettily presented virgin oil. When I asked about this uninspired dish, I was told curtly that's how it's done in Spain. Despite the excellent second dish, a perfectly spiced beef tartare, I am surprised that Relais & Chateau would consider this to be an excellent choice or a way to present food in their chain of exceeding excellence.
The ambience of the place itself is enchanting and so was the view. The staff was very nice. The breakfast on the other hand was delicious and absolutely stunning. Fresh fruit, eggs and cheese from local farmers as well as the best honey I've had as far as I remember.
