Our meal yesterday at Kokotxa in Donostia was precisely that: an exquisite experience and, without doubt, one of the nicest meals we have ever had. Perched just above the sands of La Concha bay, Kokotxa offers more than a view; it provides a prologue. The serene vista of the Cantabrian Sea sets the stage for a culinary journey that is deeply rooted in the Basque Country yet speaks a universally elegant language. It’s a Michelin-starred establishment that wears its accolade lightly, focusing not on pomp but on profound pleasure. From the moment we were welcomed, the service was impeccable, a flawless choreography of warmth and professionalism. The staff moved with an intuitive grace, without intrusion, and explaining each course with a genuine passion and knowledge, guiding us through the tasting menu, ensuring every detail was perfect. Lunch at Kokotxa is more than a meal; It’s the feeling of a complex and beautiful jigsaw puzzle falling into place (you can tell I love Radiohead) leaving you with a complete picture of great food and service. Great food, great staff, had a really lovely lunch. We took on the market menu rather than the tasting menu, but it was more than enough, a super experience. The French sommelier is very knowledgeable, listen to him! Highly recommend a visit.

My wife and I came here for lunch while on vacation in San Sebastian. We had the market menu, which included several courses. I can say without reservation that this was the most satisfying meal I have ever eaten. The courses were varied, and each was delicious. My favorites were probably the tuna steak (not pictured), the Iberian pork shoulder, and the main dessert course (not pictured). The staff were both efficient and very knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere was also pleasant. I was expecting the food to be good, but I was not prepared for how much I would enjoy the overall experience. I hope that I can come back someday.

Outstanding. We visited as a group of four and did the tasting menu. The service was top tier, the food exceeded expectations and the sommelier took his time to find wines that worked with our tastes as a group. An all round wonderful experience.

Had a wonderful afternoon meal here. The food was beautiful and the staff and service were amazing. We opted for the Market Menu and every dish was stunning. The Iberian pork shoulder was as just unbelievable.

Absolutely wonderful! We came for lunch and had the Market menu without the wine option - although that looked really worthwhile! The somm seemed very hands-on. The staff was excellent and worked in their small space honestly like a ballet. I was pregnant at the time and they listened and substituted menu items with ease to accommodate me. The food was inventive and delicious. I highly recommend!

Exceptional experience from the moment we walked in. The food was amazing, they even allowed my wife to switch desserts as she wanted something off the other menu. Recommended highly when in Donostia.

quality and presentation is excellent but dishes of the tasting menu are not as flavorful as expected.. ambience is stiff but waiters are nice and quick.. wines are ok but wine pairing very expensive..
