Parada de la Reina-Martina Bistró

"This restaurant, which started life as a typical bus station café, has evolved into what could be described as a “gourmet concept”. Nowadays, it is a contemporary bistro serving modern, globally inspired cuisine on an à la carte attractively split into different sections, plus two extensive set menus: Destino and Degusta (the latter needs to be booked 24hr in advance)." - Michelin Inspector

Parada de la Reina is literally at the bus station in Plasencia and the food served is incredibly delicious. I arrived shortly before 16h / 4 p.m. and was very grateful that the team would let me still order the menu del día (lunch menu). The dining room was full of mostly locals from the looks of it enjoying their midday meals. The lunch menu at La Parada de la Reina from the quality of the food and the price (€20 for a three course meal) were clear indicators that I’d gladly return. My meal began first with a bread service - light fluffy dough inside surrounded by flaky crust and served with olive oil. Next came the starter - a cream of red beet soup with shrimp tartar. The red beet soup was extremely refreshing on a hot summer day. As for the main, cuttlefish in its ink and with a mushroom sauce was delicious and the sauce was so good that I asked for more bread to use to eat all of the sauce. And lastly, for dessert I chose the torrija (imagine French toast) with and apple crumble that was out of this world! A delightful meal and at excellent price in a space filled with natural light. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience! Food is amazing, on beautifully prepared plates. Service was perfect, even after my telephonic stumble in Spanish. Interestingly located in an old bus station, where te busses make up the decor. Expect to pay around 60-70 euros for primero, main course, postres and drinks.

Excellent food we had tapas as they were fully booked, every tapa we ordered (6) were delicious and my favourite was the foie and caramelized onion tapa. We were skeptical given its location but seems locals make an effort to come and dine here. Only comment is that for coffee given the arabica beans freshly ground and the serious looking machine could be improved. Probably should set the temperature lower in order not to burn the coffee.

What a terrible experience. Food is average. Prices are crazy high compare to the quantity and the quality of the food. We ordered the croquetas and the ravioles. 4 pieces in the first dish for 12€ and 3 pieces in the second for 14€. They made us waiting 30 minutes to finally get the bill. They tried to make us pay an extra money because of some falls mistakes on the bill. 2 errors on prices. Waiters are plenty inside but incompetent. Awful place to be trully avoided... Ps: the owner's first answer tries to make the wine the issue that explains my bad review...hahahaha.nice try... The wine was surely not good as well. But this is quite nothing compare to what I described above and the poor customer experience. Run away folks !

I was just drinking some coffee here, but it was very good. Pleasant place, great choice and moderate prices!

Actuallyalso called Bistro Martina. Who would have thought you could get Alta cuisine in a bus station. This bistro serves great food. Reservations may be required. We happened upon this restaurant and had to wait a few minutes but well worth it. Really lovely cooking.

This is an extremely good restaurant. The fixed price menu at 19€ is very good value. It deserves to be Michelin recommended.

Good place if you are passing by. The staff is usually prompt and the prices are fair.
