Torre de Sande

"You can enjoy the more casual concept of Atrio’s cuisine in this restaurant occupying a 15C mansion located in the heart of the town’s old quarter, just a few metres from its famous three-Michelin-star sibling. In this informal setting, savour dishes with a more traditional and regional flavour, including Iberian sausage, local cheeses, delicious stews, grilled meats, a few fusion-inspired dishes as well as enticing desserts. In fine weather, it’s well worth booking a table on the attractive terrace." - Michelin Inspector

Outstanding menu with plenty of local inspired dishes. I started with the cheese croquettes which were tasty and well fried and had the squid/chickpeas/spinach stew as my main. I was pleasantly surprised by the straightforward way everything was prepared, more mother’s touch than Michelin experiments. I had a glass of light Spanish rosé proposed by our waiter and a wonderful local dessert. The prices are well adjusted to the great quality provided. All in all we had our best lunch during our New year’s holidays.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant in the historic centre of Caceres. The servers are excellent and speak great English. I had the best pork dish that I've ever had in my life here. Highly highly recommended!

Top notch! If you want to have a premium culinary experience at a fraction of the price of michelin star sister restaurant atrio this is the place to go in caceres. Restaurant sits in an amazing medieval palace in the heart of caceres. Beautifully decorated. Food is delectable and service is second to none. You need to walk to the restaurant as it is located in the pedestrian area of town.

Disappointing for the price. The best part was the wine recommended by the server and even that was on the pricier side. Also want to give some slack since it was holiday season (Dec-Jan) so many places are not open and they might be busier than usual. We went in intending to order a la carte but got pretty heavily pushed to order the tasting menu. The waiter pitched it as a good way to sample everything, but it was a poor sample. Everything was okay at best and nothing stood out. I've had much better meals for much cheaper and without the fine dining posturing. Not sure if a la carte would have been better, but I wondered if the reason they pushed so hard for the tasting menu was because nothing else was prepared. The service was also rushed, with dishes collected as soon as they looked done. One dish wasn't even complete and we had to insist a few times to keep it on the table. Perhaps they were busy, but definitely dampened the mood since we were rushing to finish dishes. Otherwise the atmosphere was pleasant and the decor was nice. Would recommend elsewhere, but if there's no other option, the food is alright (just expensive given the quality).

We had a wonderful dinner. Our waiter was super friendly and was very helpful. His English was very good which was helpful for me (my wife speaks Spanish). The food was superb. Great wine list at all price points and from many regions. Highly recommended.

I was very disappointed. I ordered the degustación, but the ensalada rusa and croquetas tasted like something you could get anywhere, and the langostinos were well-fried but didn't go well with the sauce. The merluza was very dry, and the presa ibérica was tough. None of the dishes matched well with their sauces. That's why I didn't even bother taking photos of the food. However, the service and atmosphere were not bad.

Superb food and wine . The young man in charge ( didn’t get his name) was extremely attentive and recommended 2 excellent quality white wines . His wine knowledge was very good and his enthusiasm infectious! The cheesecake was the best that I’ve tasted .

Nice atmosphere, we took 1 entry each and a main course. We both went for the cerdo iberico. The service and atmosphere are great. The portions are generous.
