The tamales are so good!! They are soft, fresh and, filled!! They definitely don't skimp out on the meat!! The Pupusas, OMG!! I tried all 3 kinds and they are freakin delicious!! The Champurado is so good, its a must try! They sell out fast so it's better to get here early.

The tamales here used to be so good until these recent months. Not only have the tamales gotten very dry but they are stingy on filling and sauce. I ordered the Tamales de Rajas and they gave me a strip of the skin 🤦‍♂️ I felt like I was in a desert while eating these tamales. The workers are very nice; however, if you are going to order tamales order them from the second location as those are way better. I am disappointed

The tamales were overly greasy, with what seemed like an excessive amount of lard. The male kitchen staff is rude, although the female cashier was consistently polite and welcoming the couple of times i've been here. The front of the establishment also appears run-down and not well maintained. There are plenty of other places in the neighborhood with better tamales and a more pleasant overall experience.

Tamale are ehh and hate the sauce on it.. it taste like nothing. Got the cheese and jalapeno tamale thinking it was gonna be without sauce but NOPE sauce came on it.. asked for regular chicken and hot red chicken tamale 😩 why say regular when it’s not? The tamale made my stomach hurt so baddddddd. I should stop being so lazy and make my own, mine taste better than these. Oh these tamale smell like light fluid 🤮🤮

$1.80 per tamal is already a rare find in this economy but these were also big and delicious. With only a small table of three, it’s really more of a takeout spot but honestly, who’s complaining? Don’t miss the cheese and jalapeño tamal.

Some of the best tamales in the city. The tamales here are always delicious I would really recommend them. The rajas con queso and the green tamales are definitely my favorite. The staff is always friendly. Always glad to support a family owned business that takes pride in the food they serve.

The name of this place is misleading because it is not a restaurant. La Bendicion is a place to order and pick up food. I ordered the strawberry tamales that my daughter wanted. The tamales were bright red and had raisins but did not smell or taste like strawberries as they should. Do not recommend those. The chicken in red sauce was delicious; you can taste the chicken, and the red sauce was delicious. Also, the restaurant uses plastic bags for the tamales, which is unsuitable for the environment. They should use recycled paper. If you want to order tamales, call ahead and pick them up from 4-5 AM to 3 PM. Sundays, they close at noon. Each tamal is $1.50

Being in Portage Park there is a tamale vendor on most corners, so it's hard to choose just one. BUT a trusty look up on Yelp and I found it! This will be my new Tamales spot. Moist, flavorful and tasty masa help complement the delicious insides. I ordered Queso con Rajas and Chicken both red and green! They were amazing. Unfortunately they were gone before I could post a pic! GO!!!

Amazing amazing tamales! I thought I could not find any where better than the Tamale Lady in Pilsen, but I'm glad I did since this is a bit closer to me. The service was friendly and quick. There was a single table for this location, but they mentioned there is dine in at another location 5 mins away. It seems most people here came in for a quick order. I got the green chicken tamale as well as the pork banana leaf one. Both were fantastic. Additionally got the rice milk drink (was fantastic as well!). I will definitely be back, this is probably going to be my go-to for tamales.

Customer service needs a huge improvement. Please be warned if you order to ask by what time you have to pick up your items. I came only to find out they sold my food. I have never ordered food only to drive to said location to be told they sold my food. No apology or offer to replace my order. I was disappointed and annoyed and will never order from here.

That's it, it's over, ring the bell... ever other tamale joint should throw in the towel. Hands down THE BEST tamales i've ever had. Ordered two dozen for an office potluck and I everyone agrees. Thank you!

I LOVE their tamales! This is my second time trying and I can't complain , all of their tamales taste super good, they have the right amount of sauce and their meat is very delicious/well seasoned. along with their hot champurado, such a GREAT combination!! I would definitely HIGHLY recommend this spot to everyone and anyone that lovessss tamales as much as I do. hahaha.

Came here last week the tamales were amazing!! I've never had one that tasted this fresh,the meat was fresh it was well seasoned I had to come in again order more definitely a must have experience

The best tamales I've had! My favorite are the spicy rajas con queso paired with an arroz con leche. Simply delish! Love that they are open dark and early to take to work. Service is great too.

My go-to tamales! Delicious! Consistent taste and level of spicy! Call ahead is recommended on Holiday season to come in and out. Parking is street parking and could be a little tricky.

everything is trash here and they have the worse customer service and it looks like the establishment is about to fall apart. They're also discriminative. They will claim their register is not working or they have nothing available not even coffee if they don't want to serve you. Do not come here if you're looking for hospitality.

My go-to for the Best tamales. Homemade. Good size and filled with plenty of chicken. Favorite are the Green ones and they are spicy. Got to order a champurrado as well. Addicted!

I will not get tamales anywhere else in this area.. the place is open so early and they make the tamales in front of you.. so good and the Champurrado ni que se diga is perfect. I definitely recommend this place as all my coworkers and my family get the tamales from here.

Great tamales definitely some of the best in the city! Small storefront at Wrightwood & Cicero and there is usually a line out the door so get there early. I can't READ the menu but they have like 8 different varieties each day. I usually get the red & green and they def have some kick and are filled with chicken and or pork not all masa like most of the other joints! I've heard they have an amazing mole with chicken tamale but I've never been able to order it. The one time I tried to speak spanish here I almost ended up with like half a dozen drinks of some kind!? Haha.. must try tamales.

07 OCT19, 1:45 pm, still the BEST DARN TAMALES ANYWHERE!!! Ordered 2 dozen verde at 6:30 AM to make sure they would have them when I got there. They occasionally run out of the verde in the late morning. Picked them up, brought them home. I am now eating my second tamale. I may me a pig and go for a third. They are that good. I also get a cup of the green sauce to take home and add a little more to the tamales. The BEST, Adios!!

Giving 3 stars because they don't wear masks, none of the employees do and I have gotten a few batches of tamales that were extremely dry. When they're on point they're on point. Tamales do taste good, they're not great or the best. Pupusas are really good. I come here due to convenience and they are open super early. Definitely a decent spot.

The best tamales on the northwest side of Chicago I won't go anywhere else. They also have good Pupusas.

Hi.. I normally get tamales by 18th and blue island.. my favorite by far. They were sold out.. I decided to use Yelp and found this place. Not many reviews.. I decided to give them a chance. This is my second order with them. They are smaller in size then my normal tamales from 18th Street. They are good tasting. A good filling inside and not too salty.. the building is not much to look at. They are preparing tamales in front room. Can't go wrong if want a good tamale.. that the best.. but I still recommend

Omg. Hidden gem for anyone who loves Mexican tamales you cannot go wrong with green or red sauce tamales. They were served hot and they are made fresh everyday. It was super clean. Wish the place was more cheerful it looks a little plain. I def wanna try their pupusas too. Staff is nice.

Their tamales are some of the best in the city !. I order from here bi-weekly and have never been disappointed . Made fresh daily and has a generous portion of meat and salsa .
