NYC-style deli highlighting hefty hot & cold sandwiches plus breakfast fare & a coffee bar.
"Downtown's Reuben’s Deli is primarily known for their sandwiches, which earn a spot on our best sandwich guide. But their lesser known talent (hot dogs) is another big reason to make your way here. These dogs fill an entire takeout container by themselves, so bring a friend and some napkins to tackle these giants. There are only three options, but we usually go with the Atlanta Dog. Melted cheese and an avalanche of tangy slaw and hearty chili sits on top of a beef wiener. And the bun is bathed in butter and toasted—it somehow never gets soggy despite the mound of juicy toppings." - juli horsford, demarco williams
"Reuben’s Deli plopped onto Broad Street in 1996. Yes, that's our Olympic year, and if there was a gold medal for sandwich making, Reuben's would stand atop the podium. The no-nonsense deli is a Downtown Atlanta lunch staple for GSU students and area workers, who come in yelling their orders to the team behind the counter. First timers should get their namesake, the reuben with pastrami. But beware, the meat on all of the sandwiches is piled so high Reuben’s should really have to pay for air rights. Congrats if you can finish your whole sandwich—celebrate with a tasty black and white." - demarco williams, juli horsford, nina reeder
"Reuben’s Deli plopped onto Broad Street in 1996 (yes, that's our Olympic year), and the no-nonsense deli has been a Downtown Atlanta sandwich staple ever since. GSU students, rushing in for a bite before their 2pm Lit class, yell their orders to the team behind the counter. No, they're not being rude, instructions on the wall actually advise this auctioneer-style approach. First timers should get their namesake, the reuben with pastrami. But beware, the meat on all of the sandwiches is piled so high Reuben’s should really have to pay for air rights. Congrats if you can finish your whole sandwich—celebrate with a tasty black and white." - Juli Horsford
"Sorry to our vegetarian friends, but this downtown deli is geared more toward carnivores than those on a plant-based diet (i.e. there's only one non-meat option lovingly labeled “rabbit food”). These giant subs and sandwiches have meats piled so high we half expect to find a Mission: Impossible stunt safety crew. Your favorite sandwich will largely depend on meat preference, but ours is the reuben with warm, tender pastrami, a slice of swiss, and a heaping portion of tart sauerkraut on toasted rye. With ordering instructions that tell you to yell at the folks behind the counter, Reuben’s is probably the closest you can get to eating at an NYC deli. " - juli horsford, nina reeder
"This New York-style deli is where to head in downtown Atlanta for a classic Reuben, a hot pastrami, and even a liverwurst sandwich. Open for breakfast." - Eater Staff
