I like this little coffee shop right in the heart of Carlsbad Village. The food menu is a little bit limited, but everything is fresh-baked and made on site. Which I really do appreciate. coffee is a great quality and delicious. There is plenty of seating in the back patio area behind the coffee shop

Jessica Colt

Google
This is a very cute little coffee shop with yummy pastries and coffee. Their morning bun is delish. It can be a little busy at times, but has a nice courtyard area to hang out in.

Google
Best coffee in San Diego county ! Everything made in house Incredible homemade syrups and cold foam, delicious seasonal drinks ! Loved the orange pine latte and the winter spiced cold foam. Organic milk and homemade almond milk. Great pop tarts, morning bun, coffee cake — even the plain croissant is out of this world. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend !!

Google
One of my absolute favorite coffee shops in my area! If friends are visiting from out of town, Revolution Roasters is always at the top of the list to take them to! Their coffee is just done so well! I love the unique drinks and food menu for each season. My personal fav is their Christmas drink. They make their own syrups and that syrup is like none other.

Google
While thinking of a coffee moment with my daughter, we decided to try Revolution Roasters in Carlsbad. This open air coffee shop allows you to delight in the lovely weather. This seems like a perfect place to study. The artificial turf appears toddler friendly. Surprisingly, Revolution Roasters does not accept cash payment, which seemed odd. The barista quickly responded to our order, and we soon began to sip on our coffee. I will certainly bring others here to have a good time.

Google
Typically, there is a line on weekends, but it moves fast. Coffee orders are picked up at the bar where as food is brought to your table. No cash, credit card only. The most delicious pastries.

Google
I've been to Revolution Roasters twice. The first time just for a jalapeño cheddar croissant (fantastic) and the other time for cold brew. The cold brew was a small ice drink with a dash of vanilla simple syrup, no milk, and the total came out to $6.50. The outdoor area connected to the coffee shop is a great place to meet up with friends! Would recommend for a business meeting as well.

Google
Great vibe! Lovely pastries. I’m a huge fan of the salted shortbread cookies by the cashier. I’m also a matcha fan so can’t speak to the coffee but seems to be a crowd pleaser! It’s primarily outdoor seating in front and back. Bring your dog!

Yelp
Omg. What a great spot! They have such a cute dog-friendly outside area to enjoy the goods, perfect for a slow morning! They don't have a kids menu, so expect adult prices and adult portions for you little ones. My latte was perfection; the food was super as well. Everything we got was fresh and natural tasting, we enjoyed everything so much! The staff was inviting.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this spot for a drink and to get some work done. I love that there's plenty of seating, so finding a spot shouldn't be an issue. The back patio even has heat lamps, which is a nice touch. I haven't visited during warmer weather yet, but hopefully, there will still be plenty of seating then. Inside, a few tables have outlets, which is great if you need to plug in a laptop. The barista was very welcoming and took the time to suggest drinks based on my preferences, which was a nice touch. I ended up going with the honey lavender matcha latte--it was delicious! The matcha flavor was strong without being overly sweet. Overall, it's a great place to grab a drink. Unfortunately, no WiFi though. However, I'll definitely be back to try more drinks and some of their baked goods, which look amazing!

Yelp
Really wanted to love this place, but it missed the mark for me. Maybe they were just having an off day, but the matcha latte was not blended at all. I was getting matcha chunks through the straw, which was a big bummer and not very appetizing. It did taste good, but not a super strong matcha flavor compared to other places. I would not get it again, maybe their coffee is better! I also got the avocado toast with heirloom tomatoes. I was really disappointed with the amount of avocado on the toast, it's like they used a mini avocado! The seasoning had a really good flavor and overall I enjoyed the toast, just wish they hadn't skimped so much on the avocado. It was super cute inside and they have good outdoor seating. Service was also very friendly.

Yelp
The energy and vibes of this place are fantastic. The baked goods are amazing. Quality ingredients. But lately babe, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, it's your coffee, it kinda sucks. Maybe there's been turnover with your barristas but the quality of the coffee preparation, and I'm talking about your espresso based drinks, has gone down. For non-espresso drinks, I don't care, b/c if you go to a coffee shop and order something other than espresso based drinks, you're probably one of those people who is the "dog parent" to an unattractive little yelping dog and well, I don't care about you. When I go to Lofty cafe I know exactly what I'm going to get: strong, smooth, meticulously prepared drinks everytime. It doesn't matter how long it takes, we want it done right. I'm asking for consistency babe. That's what all solid relationships are based on. So to conclude, it's not me, it's you.

Yelp
This place is one of our favorites! Tasty seasonal toasts, pastries and coffees. The service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing and love local feel.

Yelp
I went here kind of on a whim for a snack and it blew me away! They have all kinds of toast, and I was so happy to find that they offered gluten free toast! I got the smoked salmon and WOW! Some of the best gf toast I've had. It had herbed butter, flavorful delicate salmon, crunchy salt and pepper, lemon zest, and edible flowers. A total work of art. The gluten free bread is a little smaller, so it was two pieces of toast. I got a kombucha and sat in the courtyard which was lovely! Such great vibes here. The service was friendly, kind, and quick. I was so happy with my experience and will definitely be back soon for more gf toast, and am also now inspired to put lemon zest on all my salmon from now on.

Yelp
Grab and go pastries and coffee. Theres also avocado toast and other items that you can order and they bring to your table. You find your own seating which is shared with 3 other places.

Yelp
Amazing, low acidic coffee and espresso. Workers are always friendly no matter the time. It's in the cutest shopping center in Carlsbad. Something for everyone. We adore the marketing here. Try their pop tarts! Also their seasonal drinks are super fun and yummy.
google avatar

Abby W.

Yelp
The coffee is so good! I love a strong cup of coffee and the seasonal orange latte was scrumptious! Whenever I'm in north county I will be stopping by! They have the cutest porch seating, friendly staff, and yummy toasts
google avatar

Yelp
Love this little coffeeshop; I feel the espresso hits right every time I come here. Not to mention; the little plaza/community gathering area/outdoor space it has is perfect for those of us with little ones who want to run around. Despite the ample offerings of toast, fancy drinks, etc...I'm a black coffee man at heart and last time I came here I enjoyed an espresso; they served it with some mineral water, which was perfect and traditional. Do I wish they had pasticottos from Italy here? Yes. Will they try to carry them after they read my review? I hope so.

Yelp
Wonderful pre-thanksgiving chai tea latte! Early morning line was calm and moved quickly. Baked goods and sandwiches looked delicious! Ambiance was clean and retail goods were placed nicely. I enjoyed seeing every age group from kiddos to adults enjoying something sweet or savory. Staff was friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
I saw a video featuring Revolution Roasters on Instagram. We went to try their fall menu drinks. My sister and I got the Salted Rosemary Cold Foam and her husband got the chai latte. The service was friendly and quick especially since there was a line to get in. The seating is limited inside but there is ample seating outside. The ambiance is busy and somewhat noisy. I wouldn't come here to read a book but it's great to meet with friends. There were several bakery treats available for purchase. I love the creativeness of the drink menu. A must try if you're in the Carlsbad area.

Yelp
This coffee shop exudes an ambiance with comfort and coziness. It is quite small, but there are lots of places (shaded and unshaded) to sit outside! For the matcha lovers, this place does it quite well! They use honey for sweetness and the matcha itself is good quality. The matcha isn't super strong here, but is balanced with the milk! (Not too milky, not grainy, and not too sweet). If you want to try something new, try the ube matcha latte! It's one of my favorites :) Service is quick and everyone was friendly.

Yelp
Come for the wonderful coffee but be ready to stand in line. Came on a Sunday at 10:30 and the line was about 10 deep. It moves pretty quickly. I went for the house coffee black which they serve immediately. Nice and hot. They have a delicious looking (didn't try) assortment of baked goods and also some prepared to order options. Will go back to try their espresso options.
google avatar

Ava F.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop. Espresso in latte is bold and flavorful. I've tried with both their in house almond milk and 2% milk, both complement the espresso beautifully. Their Toast was yummy too. A great shared snack
google avatar

Yelp
We stored here for a quick coffee whole in the village. Even on a holiday this place was open, beautiful and busy. Our drinks were made quickly and tastes delicious. Definitely grab something here and enjoy the village.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice area to hang out along with other businesses. Revolution was nice and clean with minimalism aesthetics. Baristas were super friendly from describing my coffee choices to helping switch in the heaters by the table. It was a cold breezy afternoon. I certainly would return when I'm back in San Diego!! Thank you, Revolutions Roasters! In the picture I couldn't decide between Cortado or Alchemist. So I got both and am pleased with both selections!!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee shop in the Carlsbad village! There is plenty of seating in the area which is nice to enjoy some coffee or tea with friends. Very dog friendly area as well. I got a tropical ice tea which was really good and my friend got the salted rosemary cold foam which was good too! I def want to go back and try more of the food options and other drinks.

Yelp
I had an excellent experience at Revolution Roasters in Carlsbad. The coffee was top-notch, and I really loved the vibe of the place--while it was pretty small, it felt welcoming and laid-back. The quick service was a pleasant surprise, too. This location's café is tucked away in this awesome little small business plaza, which adds to its charm. I tried their pumpkin spice latte, and honestly, it should be a year-round item in my opinion; it was that good! Can't wait to go back and try more of their stuff (if I can resist ordering the PSL again).

Yelp
Went here two days in a row as it's our friends favorite coffee shop. The first day, my boyfriend got one of the seasonal iced lattes, which we thought was really delicious. It had really great flavor and wasn't overly sweet. The second day I got the vanilla latte which I liked, but honestly didn't love and probably would not go back for it. Didn't think it had all that much flavor and was missing the creamy and sweet flavor I was hoping for. My boyfriend got the hot pumpkin spiced latte and really liked it. I think this is one of the places where there's kind of hit or miss drinks and you have to figure out which ones are your preference.

Yelp
The lack of cash options feels like it's out of touch with what customers need. I've actually tried their coffee as a gift before and loved it, but this outdated policy will absolutely keep me from ever returning. It's a shame because the vibe and service were solid, but this policy definitely left a bad taste. I hope they reconsider this approach in the future to make their business more accessible and customer-friendly. I recently visited this spot, and while the atmosphere and the barista were great, I was pretty frustrated by their outdated business policy regarding cash. As a small business owner myself, I understand the importance of making sure your customers feel valued and accommodated. In a world where cash is still widely used, especially for quick stops or those of us who prefer not to rely on cards, it's a huge inconvenience to be told they don't accept cash. It's okay thought because there are not limited options walking distance I was able to get coffee and have it and get where I needed to by a barista who was even warmer and where the vibes where just more authentic at "The Goods" today but also "Baba" the opposite direction is amazing just a little slower paced. It's not just an inconvenience - it's also limiting. Some customers, including myself, prefer cash for budgeting or simply don't always have cards on hand.

Yelp
I'll drive out of my way sometimes to get to revolution roasters. I love their lattes, especially the fall specialty one but what really surprised me are their pastries. Everything is made in house and I cant stop thinking about their croissants and pop-tarts. Pls don't come here without ordering something from their pastry case. Located in a small plaza, the parking is easy and outdoor seating is plentiful! Favorite place to go to get a sweet treat and spend a relaxing morning
google avatar

Arlene s.

Yelp
Go to coffee for locally sourced. Night Shift - Dark Roasted is excellent. Butterscotch Latte is a fave! Breakfasts and baked goods for the win! Typically a long line on weekends so that tells you something about demand. Always such nice human beings behind the counter. Big fan!
google avatar

Kimberley K.

Yelp
When a place just gets it. No over explaining.., no.. having to give an overly detailed review... these people KNoW how to make an iced matcha latte with lite ice & lite sugar ( simple syrup ... no agave ). Whatever they put into the ticket for the barista ... she got it right. Boom. These are my kind of peeps.
google avatar

Kirk M.

Yelp
Great location with such a nice "yard" to hang out and eat in. Delicious food options with quality coffee to match. Plenty of public parking in adjacent lots. My oat milk latte was delicious. I would only ask that they make larger sizes available.
google avatar

Winny H.

Yelp
Located in OCN off S Coast highway. They sell various coffee (Holy goat, night shift, minus the edge which is decaf, etc.). I like the various and deep flavors of their coffee. I ordered their butterscotch and lavendar honey lattee...YUM! THeir house made pastries look so delicious. I will get it next time I visit. Lots of open space inside and a cool place to relax and unwind. There's also a shop for merchandise (totes, kid's tee, adut tees, various mugs). Cons: kinda pricey and slight parking situation Still overall a good experience!
google avatar

Yelp
5/5 for customer service and care. the manager of Revolution Roasters, Tyler, reached out to me via PM and provided exceptional communication and help. he also provided a personalized recommendation on how to get the best matcha latte for my next visit, which was very nice. for those thinking about getting the matcha latte here, try to get it as is -- the standard sweetness & ice level. this was recommended to ensure the best matcha experience! because of the care & time taken to ensure my experience was done right, I definitely will come back to give this cafe another try for their matcha as suggested, alongside their pastries as I intended to try too. thanks so much! :-)
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday morning to get a latte, this was my first time here as I was just visiting this area of California for the weekend, and this place came recommended. It's in a great location, and the inside was cute. Also had plenty of outdoor seating. I ordered a hot chai latte with lavender honey syrup. I thought the chai was on the earthy side, could definitely taste the spices in there, and they kind of overpowered the lavender syrup, I couldn't taste it that much. I do love the fact that they make their own milks in house. I did try a pink lemonade pop tart and it was good. I would definitely come back and try other drinks + food next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing all in house syrups, great coffee and great pastries will not disappoint , I am already planning to be there again in the morning
google avatar

Tanya K.

Yelp
Beautiful spot, good food and great coffee. Service was friendly and quick. Loved the pastry and the unique selections! Very flavorful.
google avatar

Olivia B.

Yelp
This was a last stop before the airport and I'm so happy we made it here! The pastries are all fresh made and soo good. I INHALED the tomato ricotta croissant in about 2 minutes. Even the syrups are made in house! I got the s'mores latte with cold foam (the special) and it was pretty good. More on a mocha side, the marshmallow cold foam was very mild in taste. All their apparel for sale was so cute and I wanted to buy all of it
google avatar

Natilee R.

Yelp
First time trying this place and quite frankly there are better places to go for coffee without the pretentiousness. The cold brew and nitro is extremely bitter. Charging double when you ask for no ice because the cup was filled to the brim with ice? Oh and their sizing is as pretentious as the barista. Just go somewhere else for. There are great coffee shops that source coffee ethically, fair trade, single origin that are far better!
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Cutest little coffee shop tucked away in the Cottages. The drink selection is a great mix of classics and more unique options. My friend ordered the Matcha Strawberry Latte and I got a Honey Lavender Latte. I also drooled over their baked goods, both sweet and savory (though I did not have a chance to try any). There were items like leek & mushroom pastries, homemade strawberry poptarts, etc. Service was excellent, the cashier was super sweet and wrote "Happy Bach!" for my friend's receipt when we shared that it was her bachelorette weekend. She was also great at introducing their menu and helping us with our drink options. The barista made everything beautifully (as you can see in the picture), and both drinks were DELISH. Will definitely make Revolution Roasters a go-to coffee stop whenever I'm back in Carlsbad!
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Love the flavor options here! Indoor and outdoor seating available. Place is clean and well-decorated. Lovely area to grab coffee and then take a walk around the shops. Well staffed with two people behind the counter ready to take our order and blend our coffee! My favorite flavor is butterscotch. I haven't found this flavor offered anywhere else!
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Great coffee, cool atmosphere. Great enclosed area for kiddos to run around. Lots of parking
google avatar

Jenna D.

Yelp
This could be a good place to meet up with someone because of the outdoor space. Parking is easy in the morning, but really rough later in the day. Croissant was just ok. I didn't enjoy the drip coffee as much as other places. Service was efficient, but it didn't feel like the friendliest place. I probably won't be back. It's fine, but not my fav local place.
google avatar

Harris B.

Yelp
Wife and I ordered Dirty Chais for the road. They had a ridiculous amount of cinnamon. We didn't have time to return to exchange so I drank more even though it was hard to swallow....my mistake. The cinnamon ended up burning my mouth and especially my tongue, which hasn't yet healed going on 3 days. What kind of training, or lack thereof, do they have here that they would actually harm their customers?
google avatar

Anush G.

Yelp
I had high hopes for the brown sugar sage latte but it fell short for me. The sage flavor wasn't really there for me and the almond milk made my drink taste a bit off. I would get oatmilk next time. The tarragon turkey sandwich, however, was AMAZING. 5/5 for the sandwich. The service was quick and the vibe of the shop was cute. A bit expensive but the quality is there.
google avatar

Buddy A.

Yelp
Second time I have tried this place. The first time was complete chaos. LOTS of people working and basically standing around doing nothing while one person takes the order(even with a big line) and only TWO people making the drinks. Literally took 25 minutes to get my coffee drink. Thought I would try one more time. Same thing, lots of meandering employees. Sugar was gone, napkins out. Latte was barely lukewarm. No more for me.
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
This is a cute little coffee shop in a cute little food court type of area. The coffee is smooth and isn't bitter or have a bite. I got one of their specialty house drinks that had cold brew, vanilla syrup and cream as well as a shot of their espresso. Both were excellent and the ladies inside were super nice and had amazing customer service and personalities.
google avatar

Janae R.

Yelp
What we ordered: smoked salmon toast, double shot of espresso, mocha, chai latte with oat milk. The toast was tasty, but I found the bread to be a little too thin. It didn't support the weight of the toppings and started to bow up on itself when I ate the second toast. The espresso was acidic and sour tasting, and the taste wasn't indicative of the tasting notes posted. The mocha tasted like milk and didn't have any chocolate taste to it. The chai latte tasted like water. It was difficult to taste the tea and the cinnamon overpowered the entire drink. There's a cute courtyard outside shared with some other businesses. But the drinks and food were not good enough for us to return.
google avatar

Kara V.

Yelp
Coffee is so good. Atmosphere is wonderful. I really enjoyed sitting outside and working. I would love for some more indoor seating (it's limited), but when the weather is nice, it's a lovely place to meet someone for coffee. Their pastries are yummy (I had the Oatmeal Maple Pop Tart - I meant to share, but didn't end up sharing because it was so good!).
google avatar

Taylor A.

Yelp
Chai latte with whole milk: 6/10 Good flavor but leaves much to be desired and has a watered down feeling about it. Overall not a very sweet chai but also not spicy leaving the drinker wanting more. The coffee shop was very cute and the barista was nice so that leads into the inflated score. Avocado toast: 9/10 Perfect blend of crispy yet chewy sourdough bread glazed with butter reminiscent of childhood breakfasts. The avocado was fresh and balanced with the tomatoes in a way that brings a tear to your eye. The salt and pepper seasoning had large kernels and popped in your mouth when biting into this masterpiece. Serving size was more than enough for this reviewer and could be shared with another. Would come back just for the toast.

Yelp
Revolution Roasters in Carlsbad is a coffee haven! The aromatic brews evoke pure bliss, and the excitement of each sip is unparalleled. The ambiance is cozy, providing the perfect setting for coffee enthusiasts. The service is top-notch, adding to the overall delightful experience. The outside seating, equipped with heaters, offers a fantastic spot to enjoy your coffee in any weather. A must-visit for those seeking a blend of great coffee, ambiance, and service!

Yelp
I am absolutely obsessed with their matcha lattes. They're just sweetened with honey, and I honestly think they're the best I've had in recent memory, if not ever. Everyone's always super nice whenever I drop by, and quick with getting food and drinks out. I also love that it's in a little courtyard with some other food places. There are plenty of seats and nice shade, which is always great in the summer. The only bummer is parking can sometimes be hard, but that's just Carlsbad in general! Overall, I love this place and wish they'd open another one up in Encinitas!!
google avatar

Tara T.

Yelp
Butterscotch with Marshmallow Cold Foam! That was one of my favorite coffees of my life! Had to be iced for the topping which was fun to drink with like a frothy floating marshmallow! Proud of you that you make your syrups in house! Friendly & helpful as I requested this combo from looking at the menu so maybe you'll see something too. Wish it was closer. Yum!
google avatar

Valeria D.

Yelp
Coffee is delicious & reasonably priced. Toasts can be a little pricey but quality & quantity is great. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Carlsbad location has ample outdoor seating with shade covers or with the sunshine on your face, both are lovely! They offer limited indoor seating. Very dog friendly! I do wish they offered healthier homemade baked goods!
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
I ride my bike with my son here every Sunday without fail. Revolution has become my go to coffee shop since moving to North County, and now that there is one in the Carlsbad Village, I come in even more. This location has a great outdoor space for kids to run around in, so it's a great family weekend spot. The best Vanilla Latte around, and all their baked goods, syrups, and alternative milks are made in shop.

Yelp
I have been to RR three times. I am definitely a coffee consumer and enjoy visiting different coffee shops. The lattes are good; however, totally overpriced. I think the simple answer to this is location - coffee shops/eateries in the area can get away with charging more due to demographic and tourism. The customer service is ok, not wonderful, and kinda pretentious as another reviewer mentioned. Overall, going once is a nice experience for something a little different, coffee art, etc., although no latte is ever worth $7, especially when their $6-7 sizing is a medium or large at other shops. Yes, the economy has not been great and businesses have increased costs, still, the prices at RR are greedy in my opinion. To be fair, one or two other coffee shops nearby are overpriced as well and not necessarily exceptional. So yeah, it's a location thing as I see it, businesses taking advantage because they can, unfortunately. Compared to other nearby cities with cool coffee shops, good coffee, and fair pricing.
