"I've known this South Oceanside coffee shop as a fixture since it opened in late 2015; its beans are currently roasted at a facility in the back of Coffee Coffee in Leucadia. It mixes up java concoctions like affogato and butterscotch lattes and offers fresh pastries and avocado toast. The team is taking over the retail space next door to double production for coffee roasting and baking and to open a beer-and-wine bar connected to the café; while brewing beer and wine on site isn't part of the plan right now, they plan to bring in favorites from local breweries (the staff mentions a love of IPAs and some strong interest in wine, and owner Miriah Scheibe is a fan of kombucha). The extra bakery space will modestly expand the food menu—the pastry chef is excited to put together "a full run of croissants"—and construction was set to start in September with the expansion and new bar expected by the end of 2019." - Mike Schramm
