Rey Tacos

I recently tried Rey Tacos and wanted to share a detailed and honest review of my experience. I ordered both the fish burrito and the chicken burrito, hoping to try a variety, along with quesadillas. Starting with the burritos the flavor was there, but the texture and overall balance were disappointing. The fish burrito was very dry, almost as if it was mostly rice wrapped in a tortilla with very little moisture, sauce, or fillings to balance it out. It didn’t have the usual soft, flavorful, mixed filling you expect from a burrito. Instead, it was hard to chew and felt more like seasoned rice wrapped in bread rather than a proper burrito. The chicken burrito unfortunately had the same issue. The chicken itself had good seasoning, but the overall burrito lacked sauce or any creamy element to hold the fillings together and give it that savory, juicy burrito feel. It really needed more moisture, more filling variety, and richer texture maybe a creamy sauce, beans, pico or something to keep it from being so dry. On the positive side, the quesadillas were excellent. They were perfectly cooked, with a great cheese pull, nice seasoning, and a really comforting, satisfying flavor. The tortillas were crisp on the outside and soft inside, the cheese was melty and rich, and overall they felt thoughtfully prepared. This dish stood out and is something I would absolutely order again. I do want to emphasize that the flavors themselves weren’t bad at all Rey Tacos clearly knows how to season food well. The main improvement needed is in the burrito preparation. With a little more sauce, moisture, and ingredient balance, the burritos could be amazing, because the potential is definitely there. As it stands, they were too dry and heavy on rice, which took away from the experience. Overall, I think Rey Tacos has a lot of promise. The taste is good, the quesadillas are fantastic, and I can see why people enjoy this place. With some adjustments to the burrito texture and filling balance, I believe they could take their menu to the next level. I will definitely return to try more items and to get the quesadillas again, and I hope to see improvements in the burritos in the future — because the flavors are there, they just need a bit more sauce and softness to match the quality of the rest of the food.

We got take out from here. Never had them before, definitely delicious. We tried the beef tacos soft and hard, steak quesadilla, nachos with cheese, horchata and the plain churros. Everything was delicious! Would definitely recommend.

I hate when people give bad reviews just out of spite bc they are probably just miserable people with no empathy for people who handle their food. This place is PHENOMENAL! I’ve ordered here several times and have never been dissatisfied with the service or food quality. The Birria Tacos are my absolute favorite and everything is reasonably priced. I go out of my way to go here and the staff has always been very friendly, always asking me if I needed any extra sauces for my order. Ignore the hateful comments! Best Tacos in Palm Beach County!

I work nearby and usually order uber eats from this place. I decided to go in today and order to go. I got the birria tacos which come with consommé and two sauces. The hot sauces are delicious. The tacos were even better. For $12 you get 3 birria tacos and a can of soda. They also have taco Tuesday deals. But these birria tacos have such a unique flavor compared to the others I've tried from different places. Rey Tacos birria tastes like warm spices and almost remind me of autumn flavor profiles. I think they are truly delicious. Also, my to go order only took 15 mins and when I picked it up, it was piping hot. The soda was very cold and crispy too. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is cozy. I kind of like the feel of it. Not fancy but not run down. It's quirky and kitschy.

I’ve traveled to almost every city in Florida. This was the best place that I’ve gotten the birria tacos and the side sauce are amazing Coming I’m from a family that runs Mediterranean cafés the food was very clean hot the cheese pulled perfectly But most importantly, the service was amazing from Amanda When I walked in, I said I never been here before and she was quick to point out. Things on the menu offer me different sauces and explain them. Her customer service made the food better if she came in for a job at one of my families restaurants I would hire her immediately. Finally, some good customer service from somebody who can communicate an upsell a customer the right way and who’s very kind thank you

Worst Resturant ever! White girl in the front with red hair her service is absolutely trash! Childhood taco place and will never come back due to the service! I live out west Delray! The girl said come back we’ll fix your food and refund it. I came back then she started having them make my food when I got in the store and then said I can give you the 3 tacos or a refund! This was yalls mess up! NEVER AGAIN! WORST PLACE EVER! NEVER AGAIN.

Amazing tacos with lots of meat and fresh veggies. Freshly grated queso?! How can you get more authentic? The veggie taco has fresh avocado slices. If you like spicy then ask for the red sauce. They make it fresh on site and it's the only restaurant hot sauce I've had that's spicy enough for me. They also have a creamy and verde salsa for the non-masochists. The flan is a must try. The owner, Mohammed, hooked me up with a slice the first time I went in and now I'm addicted. He also owns the kava bar and vape store in the same plaza. And my favorite part about Rey Tacos? They're open until midnight.

They mismark the burritos SO OFTEN. My wife loves steak, I love chicken. SOMEHOW they mark them wrong. This might not seem like a big deal, but you can't tell what's in a burrito until you open it. It's wrapped up. And by that time you put your sauce and stuff on it. I like spicy, she doesn't. So you can't just trade them. Seriously, do us all a favor and pay attention to how you mark things!

Honestly my husband is obsessed with this place but I don't get the hype. Chips are very thick & queso is very thick - both are not my style. The guac was pretty good! I would not recommend the Mexican street corn (esquite) because they use canned corn. Price is decent for the burrito and amount of food you get. Water was not free, you had to buy a bottle. Nothing special to note about the inside of the restaurant/ ambiance. Service was fine, not especially fast.

Stopped here tonight for take out and I was SO Impressed with my order!!! I ordered loaded nachos for appetizers and steak Quesadilla. I ordered 3 chicken Burritos loaded and 1 steak taco loaded. It feed 4 adults and we had leftovers that I could have fed another adult. Portions were large and food was authentic. Everything was delicious!!! I ordered my order at 5:00 and it was ready for pickup by 5:19. My whole order came out to $49.63 which is amazing to feed a family of 4 for dinner. Food tasted clean and everyone was so happy. I would say this is more of a take out place since it's small inside but it is clean. I will definitely be coming back and I give it 5 stars!!!! Oh, I forgot to mention that I forgot to take pictures before we already started digging in, so the pictures are what ever was left over after we devoured it!

This is a hidden gem tucked in the corner of the plaza on Ocean & Dixie in Lantana. The prices are cheap/reasonable, especially for what you receive! The tacos and burritos were amazing. We also shared chips and guacamole, which was yummy. My favorite was the steak burrito & steak taco. It was fresh, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. It is a small restaurant with walk up ordering and a few tables inside. We did eat inside, but in the future, this will be one of our go-to take out places!! I can't wait to try the other menu options.

lm so glad I found this place! The food has so much flavor. The burritos are HUGE!!!!! I have ordered 2 times now I'm new to the area and got luck to find my favorite taco spot!

Super conflicted! Here's why. So this was my first time here. What brought me here? The corn... I'm a sucker for corn. No one in the county has good corn. I tried the corn. It had to of been the worst corn I have had. It was canned, cold corn. Not even warmed. It had a ton of lime, cheese, maybe some Mayo? And a ton of Tajin. But this was the worst corn... so. I was scared to try the Birria tacos... The Birria tacos were arguably the best I have had in the county. These were cooked to perfection with tons of flavor, cheese, toppings. Seriously it was phenomenal. I think the issue is they do some things great, but what they slack on ruins the rest. I think you should scratch the corn, and do the tacos like a king! I rated 4/5 because of the corn. BUT. If I rated the corn alone it would be 1/5 I am willing to come back to try other things.

Great food! This is a great place for takeout. They have really fast service. My go to is the steak burrito.

One thing I like with food is consistency. Rey's is that one place. I'm in Lanatana often for school. I love stoping by and getting their birria tacos and steak tacos.

Came in to order a beef taco. I was surprised to see no one was there until I tried their food. This has to be hands down the worst burrito I have ever eaten in my life. If they do not get their act together, they will lose their business. I would give it 0 stars if it would allow me to. Do not come. You will thank me later

Most favorite Authentic Mexican restaurant to go to in Palm Beach County!!!!! Best steak tacos, Guac, elote, Horchata, Churros, MORE!!!! I have been coming here for 4+ years and will keep going! The people there are kind and catering.

Food is fresh and delish. Friendly service and small town feel. Supporting local business is where it's at. Steak quesadillas and birria tacos were really good. This is where we will be going for Taco Tuesdays !!

Staff is always kind, love the food and feel better every time my wife and I come here. Sometimes the music videos on the TVs are awkward, but it often gives us something to laugh a out while we're eating.

Hey finally stopped in to this new taco joint that's new to the lantana area .... Me & my nephew found their tacos to be super fresh & delicious...... The steak was well seasoned as well as their shrimp taco's; as per my nephew the chicken needs more seasoning but he still enjoyed them. We topped the steak tacos off with their green sauce which was on point and then used their house sauce for the shrimp & chicken .... All fresh ingredients, their taco shells are not corn they use a flour tortilla single not doubled up which surprisingly help up with out breaking .... The service was super fast & super friendly...... The dining room & entire restaurant was super clean & neat looking .... Would definitely return again & recommend to family & friends ... This is a conflicting one because if you're looking for AMAZING birria tacos...this is the place. However!! They will forget to add the dipping caldo so make sure to remind them to add it!!! As far the rest of the menu, That's about all they have that's worth eating. BEWARE the churros (loaded or regular) will have you in the bathroom regretting all life decisions. The corn is canned, cold, and it looks like a babies dirty diaper. Not to mention, they forgot the tajin but at that point, the tajin wouldn't have saved the corn. NASTY!!!! We didn't even bother trying it so there's goes $9. Overall...come try the birria but THATS IT!!!! And enjoy

No frills Mexican food in a casual environment.Try the Taco specials ,they are good for Lunch or a quick snack.Takeout is fast and reliable.

I ordered this place on Door Dash, regret it! I opened my meal and gnats flew out of it! There was more crumbled cheese on the tacos than meat but I had to throw it away anyway because of the bugs. totally grossed out from this place.

Here's the deal. People are nice Food is good Place is in lantana close to lake worth The prices are insanity high Every other taco place lantana and lake worth cheaper. Look a veggie taco is 350 Taco al cabon 250 Two tacos a small chips an salsa and a drink cost me 14 something. This is a poor area ..listen it was a mistake for me to even come here . That is my meal now for two days and yes I'm going to starve now . Big mistake when he said 14 something I was in shock and embarrassed.. This place was a big big mistake to come here ..I guess they cater to the rich or people on food stamps that don't have to worry about going hungry ..me I'm barely surviving..

We have eaten here 3 times so I know it pretty well. The tacos aren't anything to write home about but the burritos are great. They are filled well and quite a handful for one sitting. They are also pressed slightly before served to get a nice brown patina on the tortilla. I'd forego the tacos and stick to the burritos. Another downer is the fact that last time we were there, they gave us zero sauce. No salsa, hot sauce, nothing. That was definite bummer. Do better.

Off the beaten path but worth it. This place is tucked away along with a few other restaurants out east along the tracks in Lantana. Cute little restaurant with awesome tacos made with fresh, quality ingredients. I will absolutely be back when in the area.

This little taco place is new and it is really good. My wife and I got some tacos and a burrito with an order of nachos, I was really impressed. Fresh food really clean little spot. Seats maybe 20 people sitting down. The attendant really nice and courteous. The chef really nice and pays good attention to your order. I will definitely go back and strongly recommend.

Veteran owned, really tender and good steak tacos. Pretty flavorless rice & beans but that's often a hit or miss at Mexican spots. Friendly staff, would come back!

This spot is one of the few local spots I plan on visiting again in Lantana! They are open late, clean, vibrant, and fun. They guarantee fresh ingredients, delicious flavors, and great customer service. While the charm in the surrounding area can be questioned this is one stop that hopefully will spark some much needed life in the neighborhood!

Was just ok. I got the carne asade nachos which were flavorful, but light on the meat and cheese. Quesadilla was just ok. The young lady that took my order was not wearing a mask and there was no hand sanitizer to be found.

Nothing special. Got a lunch combo which was three beef tacos and a drink for five dollars. It was cheap but not worth it or anything that would want me to come back. Also, I ordered one fried fish taco. The fish was the size of a sliced pickle and was so over Friday that I just threw the thing out there was nothing meaty or moist about it it was just a piece of charded bark.

Unfortunately extremely underwhelming. I should have heed the advice of the other reviewers as my experience is consistent. Cheese not melted in my quesadillas, items on the food that was not listed on the menu, meat lower quality than Taco Bell. Insane. They must fresh fry their chips too which is odd for a place like this. They don't know how to drain the oil properly off the chips which results in the styrofoam melting all over the chips. I don't know about you but I don't want micro plastics melted all over my chips. Poor quality food, poor packaging, mediocre prices.

Not great. Steak had a weird smell, couldn't eat more than 2 bites. Chicken taco was ok but in the dry side. Ordered loaded nachoes and warmed up cheese was not fresh (dined in). Guacamole was not bad but over all food wasn't good. It was serving halal meat so I was hoping it to be good.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is absolutely amazing. You get big portions for a very small price and it's all delicious (we had burritos, queso and chips and tacos). The veggie burrito doesn't really have any veggies on it (just avocado and tomato- which are both technically fruit) but all the food was great nonetheless. Highly recommend.

Lantana is a hidden gem and I'm so happy Rey's has moved here. Tacos we're pretty good, I had shrimp and fish. They are pretty plain and could use some seasoning. But overall, decent. I went back and got a shrimp burrito and it was better than the tacos. I'd like to see more veggies in the burrito, like sauteed mushrooms, peppers and onions. Maybe even a bit of lettuce and tomato and some guacamole and sour cream. Idk, I'm a pescatarian and love veggies, I get it though, it's "street tacos" I just like to jujj it up a little bit. Hot sauce is not for wimps . So yummy to dress up the tacos and burritos! If you love taco bell, check out Rey's for a seriously better option. Staff is also really nice and place is clean. I'm definitely going back for more burritos and hot sauce. Mmmm

I hate to have to do this to a small local business but absolutely DISGUSTING. I ordered from Uber eats, did not receive fresh food the chicken they use in the chicken tacos is literally out of a CAN. Everything smells weird, you have got to be JOKING to use canned chicken..... terrible. Guacamole had a weird liquid coming out of it all brown by the time it arrived. Everything was inedible, shrimps were small and awful no flavor... I asked for hotsauce they did not include. Stay away!!!!!

loaded nachos? more like cheese and tomatoes only. chicken was dry cheese wasnt even melted. only bland white rice that dose not have no flavor . steak tastes microwaved. burrito is soggy. looks like they spend more money on the restaurant than the Actual food. how can u mess up rice

Went in last weekend with my son for dinner and while we were standing at the register deciding what we wanted a shift manager/kry holder was telling the other cashier a very vibrant story and was using a lot of profanity. When she said the F word multiple times and the B word I said "Hey, my 8 year old is right here, can you not talk like that?" She quickly apologized and then proceeded go back to story and literally saying the F Word every other word. This continued the ENTIRE time we sat in there and ate. She ranted and complained about other co workers and management. To be honest, the other 2 cashiers appeared mortified that she kept it up. Little regard that my son was hearing every F word she dropped. While I am in no way prudish in my language I would expect that during dinner the cashier can remain professional for the 20 mins we were in there. My child was not the only child in this restaurant. Not sure we will be back.

It's good food but when they forget half of your order and you order through grub hub they don't do anything to help you get your money back! Grub hub did a nice job of making it right, but how do you leave off 4 items on an order??

Made my stomach hurt not to mention they messed up me and my friends orders. beef tasted watered down, chicken tasted like it was boiled and unseasoned, churros were stale and drenched in nutela and cheap caramel, "nachos" were tortilla chips with cheddar hardened on and about a tablespoon of sliced tomato at maximum. quesadilla was average. never again ):

Came to try this place after seeing a guy on the street with the sign. I will say I am a taco fanatic and the steak tacos are pretty amazing and the price is unbeatable !!! I came on taco tuesday and got 4 steak tacos for $5! The service was awesome and not to mention the place is owned by a veteran so def go support !!! My new fav place
