Best Rooftop Bars in the Triangle | Eater Carolinas

"Some may say this isn’t officially a rooftop bar, but it is elevated three stories off the ground and the hottest ticket in outdoor drinking right now. It’s still hard to snag a prime weekend time for the indoor restaurant months after opening, but patio seats are first-come, first-served for drinks. This is definitely a place to see and be seen — expect patrons to be dressed to the nines to enjoy a rosé spritz or bottle of Veuve, so act accordingly." - Elliott Harrell

13 Hottest Restaurants in the Triangle, November 2024

"The new RH Raleigh (formerly known as Restoration Hardware) burst onto the scene last month with a splashy 800+ person opening gala featuring a who’s who of North Carolina celebrities. A furniture store might seem an odd addition to an Eater Heatmap, except if you ask the folks from RH, they’ll tell you that they’re no longer just a furniture store. To whit — RH Raleigh’s expansive new space is topped by a glimmering rooftop restaurant complete with trees, balconies, a DJ booth, and what has quickly become one of the Oak City’s most see-and-be-seen dining rooms. Serving lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, the restaurant offers a caviar menu, American standards like a lobster roll, ribeye dip sandwich, whole grilled branzino, petit filet, and plenty of wine and beer to wash it all down. It might be North Hills, but the vibes are pure L.A." - Matt Lardie

RH Rooftop is pure aesthetic goals! From the chandeliers and marble tables to the dreamy rooftop views, every corner is picture-perfect. I came for the vibes and stayed for the food—everything was fresh, beautifully plated, and surprisingly flavorful. The truffle fries? Say less. Service was attentive but never rushed, making it feel like a luxurious escape right in the middle of the city. Perfect spot for a girls’ brunch, date night, or just treating yourself. Definitely lives up to the hype!

The ambience is great at Restoration Hardware. The place is perfect for pictures and I was up in the air about the food, but the food was actually good too. My bacon was a little bit crispy, but my overall experience was a 5/5

Other than the price tag, this gallery is simple, natural neutral pallet, and innovative. I enjoyed the inspiration and simplicity of the furniture. All finishes and fixtures are definitely apart of my wish list.

Ok so… here is our quick review of RH. Service was terrible. Food was good but not exceptional. We really didn’t like the choices on the dinner menu. J got the salmon and it was good, I tasted his. I got the Asian chicken salad. It was fine. But all sides were a la carte. No bread service gratis, it was a menu item. The only way I would go back: If it were a nice day and I could enjoy the outdoor seating for wine and appetizers or maybe coffee and dessert. The desserts sounded amazing but we had been there so long we were afraid how much longer it would take to maybe even try one dessert.

FIVE STARS to the new Restoration Hardware Gallery and Rooftop Restaurant Terrace in Raleigh! RH Gallery's long-awaited 60,000 square-foot architectural wonder is genuinely comfortable and 'blurs the lines between residential and retail, indoors and outdoors, home and hospitality.' Raleigh's RH Gallery is undoubtedly a destination and will lift all retail activity at Midtown North Hills. In addition to the self-guided gallery tour, our Sunday lunch included grilled shrimp with grilled vegetable salad, mini-lobster rolls with caviar, and. truffle fries. Everything was FiVE STAR, including the gallery and restaurant staff.

Love this place! The products, variety of styles plus large selection of materials to choose from is excellent. They offer free design consultation to ensure things are scaled properly for the space. To me, they are on top of color trends & mostly have lovely, durable furniture. This particular location is so inviting, it makes you want to stay for a bit. The staff we’ve met so far have always been pleasantly upbeat & informative. Hope to redecorate another room soon! The white outdoor sofas I’m posting are covered in their performance fabric and have been outside for 3 years. That’s year round with only spot cleaning. Impressive!

Opening night at RH North Hills was outstanding ! Brittany, one of the training managers from Minnesota was amazing! Her hospitality, attention to detail and guest awareness were unbelievable. We would have never known it was opening night. The restaurant ran like a well oiled machine! Can’t wait to come back!!

Yelp
Rating 3 stars because the drinks we had were excellent, but this is not really a place to go for just drinks. The hostesses on the third floor were lovely, and they let us know we could not have a seat in the restaurant without ordering food but that we could sit anywhere downstairs. We were asked to leave two separate seating areas downstairs, which is fine - rules are rules. We just felt a little embarrassed that there were apparently all of these rules about where you could or could not sit that were never communicated and it involved so much trial and error to find a spot. In addition even though we were being quiet and not disruptive, it just felt very awkward and like the sales people were kind of circling around us and watching us very closely as we enjoyed our drinks. It felt like they were irritated by our presence and waiting for us to mess up again. Overall I would definitely come back to try the food, but our experience on the second floor was very weird and caused us to cut our night short. It would be great if there was some sort of alternative seating option for those who would like to be able to enjoy their drinks without feeling rushed or hovered over (besides the patio which was suggested to us by the salespeople, but it felt like a thoughtless suggestion as it was cold and wet from today's weather).

Yelp
The atmosphere was incredible and the staff was so nice. This is a great location for a date night. For the cost of the food, I don't think you get what you paid for- quantity/value wise. While the board was tasty, you don't get much for the $$. It also seems like a limited menu

Yelp
The food was exceptional. We got the burrata, salmon, filet and broccolini. Everything was fantastic. The vegetables were obviously charcoal grilled which we enjoyed a lot. We sat next to the fountain which was out in the open but didn't feel too exposed because the water sounds kind of drowned the other noise out.

Yelp
We liked Restoration Hardware when it was at our local mall and had read about a new RH in Raleigh. The offerings certainly are different: much more on furniture and furnishings than on smaller home products. We found a lot of the furniture to be a little bland to be honest, but the draw here appears to be the rooftop restaurant and bar. The prices are a little high but we decided to get two Proseccos at their walkup bar and drink it on the terrace. I would definitely bring someone here for a special occasion or to show them something cool and new in the Triangle area.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful! The aesthetic is so elegant from the moment you walk in. Service was good too. But I must say that the food was a major disappointment. I know that it is American cuisine but could the menu be anymore basic? Limited options. Food portions are very small. I ordered the Lobster sandwich from the main entree. We were a group of 4 and we were all still hungry after our lunch. None of our items were remarkable. Their menu is very overpriced. So you're basically paying for the view and the sophisticated setting. It seems like they put all their efforts into decorating the restaurant instead of working on their food!

Yelp
10/10 make sure you visit this spot during your visit to North hills. I've been to other RH locations but this one takes gold. The food was absolutely mouthwatering and the views are immaculate. Highly recommend for an intimate dinner or date night!

Yelp
My daughter and I did a mother daughter dinner. Service was top notch and food was excellent. I would definitely recommend going to have a nice relaxing dinner.

Yelp
Really cool restaurant, you definitely pay for the ambiance but worth it for a special dinner or fun brunch! They have a great curated wine selection, spritz and beer but no hard liquor. Definitely a fun experience! The store closes at 7pm so you can't browse after dinner.

Yelp
The food was good. The ambience was great. And the service from ETHAN was absolutely AMAZING! He was so professional, courteous, patient, helpful with decision making, and accommodating to our many requests. I will definitely be back and highly recommend that you ask for him. It will change your experience.

Yelp
They can't accommodate 10 people, very disappointing! Food was good but had to sit on an uncomfortable couch and dine from a coffee table.

Yelp
Our server, Lindsay, was so friendly, and attentive. The ambiance was lovely and the brunch was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend the RH Restaurant for a special occasion, especially for brunch. Ask to be seated in Lindsay's section!

Yelp
Beautiful space to have dinner with great ambiance. We ordered the Asian Chicken Salad on the recommendation of our server and it was good- would I get it again? Probably not. Another member of our party got the lobster roll and it would be more aptly named a lobster slider. She said the consistency of the lobster was like tuna salad. I would not recommend getting the lobster roll here walk a few steps over to Cousin's Maine Lobster. We had the burrata appetizer which was delicious. The banana split is literally a banana split in 1/2 with caramelized sugar and 3 golf ball sized scoops of vanilla ice cream-- it was good but I wouldn't order again. Overall a nice experience but I may would just get an appetizer and a glass of wine and walk over to village tavern to eat a meal.

Yelp
Wait Time for first drink was 30 minutes. Manager never offered any assist as he sat looking at a computer for 30-40 minutes looking at us and then ignoring us. Food was sub-par at best. Salmon was raw and the steak was burned on the outside. Not a first class restaurant. Way over priced for the service. Don't worry, I will not be back. Was hopeful but not meant to be.

Yelp
The decor is absolutely splendid and I am glad we saw it. However, they gave the skimpiest pour possible on an overpriced Chardonnay at $19 a glass. The wines and food were way overpriced compared to some really excellent restaurants here. We left after drinks despite having dinner reservations and went next door to the Village Tavern were we had a delicious meal and wine at a far more reasonable price. If you want to blow major bucks just to say you've been, fine. But, we will pass. After the new wears off, it will be interesting to see if they can sustain these prices and stay in business in this market.
