My first time at RH Restaurant was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to return. These days, it's rare to find a restaurant that is both aesthetically stunning and serves delicious food, but RH excels in both.
Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted and asked whether we were there for dinner or to explore the gallery. I had called ahead to ask if reservations were recommended, and the staff advised that they were. Fortunately, traffic wasn't too bad, so my friend and I arrived earlier than expected. The host kindly seated us right away.
The ambiance is elegant, relaxing, and visually captivating, with so much to take in as you walk through the space. This is definitely an upscale dining experience, so be prepared to spend accordingly.
For drinks, we both ordered the RH Bellini, which was light, refreshing, and an easy 10/10. It cost $17.
For our meal, we ordered the lobster roll, which comes with two small portions. While the size was disappointing, the flavor made up for it--rich, buttery, and well-balanced. I'd rate it an 8/10, priced at $34. It comes with caviar, which had a luxurious, buttery taste and delivered on quality. The highlight of our meal was the Wagyu ribeye (14 oz.), cooked medium rare. The steak was incredibly savory, tender, and melted in my mouth--an easy 10/10 and well worth the $110 price tag.
We also ordered the truffle fries, which were crispy, garlicky, and full of flavor. They were a great addition to the meal. One thing I did notice was that our server didn't check on us as often as I would have liked. Additionally, the restaurant adds a 4% employer surcharge, so keep that in mind when budgeting your visit.
After dinner, we explored the gallery, which spans multiple floors and showcases an impressive collection of modern furniture, lighting, textiles, and decor. The rooftop was a standout feature, offering breathtaking views of San Francisco--a perfect way to end the evening.
RH Restaurant is a fantastic choice for special occasions like birthdays or celebrations. While it is on the pricier side, the combination of ambiance, food, and overall experience makes it worthwhile. Do note that paid parking is required, which is common in San Francisco.
I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!
