An essential OTR hangout where a historic brewery opens to a panoramic rooftop for beers, ciders, and seasonal cocktails. Consistently recognized by local media, it hums on game days and sunny Sundays with a true neighborhood crowd.

Every time we come into the Cincy area, we make a stop here for some drinks, a view, and a chill spot to have great views. It’s so much nicer to drink from the tap rather than a can. We love the rooftop bar area. It’s is 21+ older. Inside is family/kid friendly. There are stairs to walk and also an elevator as well to access the main floor for patrons.

Google
Stopped in to try some local beer while in town. Really cool layout. The place is huge with a warehouse size area downstairs and a great rooftop outside seating area upstairs. The beer is solid. Overall we had a really good time!

Mike Krueger

Google
HUGE Brewery with a spacious indoor area and rooftop bar. We tried 4 different beers, they were all tasty. The place was packed for the Ohio State football game. Great atmosphere, definitely recommend this place for locals or out of towers like us.

Google
LGBTQ friendly, so spacious and flooded with light, lots of game for everyone including kids, and a wonderful rooftop with beautiful views of the city on one side and greenery/trees on the other, you also can see murals from there. I loved that they support nonprofits and make it easy for people to donate. I think they have some food options but we didn’t eat/looked for food, I did see pretzels! Overall, a fun and cool place!

Google
Rhinegeist is an awesome brewery. Such a great place for a large group of people. We loved sitting on the rooftop and enjoyed the large selection of beers to choose from. The bartender was fabulous. Highly recommend!

Joselyn D

Google
Great beers on tap. It was a bit warm today inside but it is like the hottest day of the year! 🥵 Go to the roof top for an amazing view of the city. Would like sours on tap 🙏🏻

Google
We have been looking forward to visiting Rhinegeist for a long time and it did not disappoint! This place was massive and had tons of different areas to spend time. There isn’t really any food here so that is important to note. The rooftop bar was actually quite big with it’s own bar and restrooms. There was a total mix of people midday on a Saturday and it seemed pretty family friendly. We played a round of cornhole between a middle aged group of friends and a young family in the main large space. Our favorite beers of the day were the Cinci Light Lime and the Juicy Truth. Can’t wait to come hang again!

Google
Very cool brewery super bug and spacious with 4 floors and tons of games!

Yelp
Huge space for groups and the beers are great. I wish they had a better selection for food, but they let you bring in food so that's also great. Plenty of space/activities for kids to run around in while the adults chat. I think they're also a spot for futbol fans to congregate so I'm sure it gets lively in there on weekends for EPL and FC Cincinnati or any other local team playing.

Yelp
The brewery occupies a nice large space with a rooftop terrace for the nicer days, and could host large party events on one of the floors. I have a soft spot for this place because our friends got married here. I've also been up to the rooftop to enjoy a pint or two. The beers are very good -- of course what you should get highly depends on your taste, but there is a large rotation, so hopefully there is something for everyone. I've also seen their beers on tap at breweries across the country -- a testament to their brew quality. It's always fun to spot their very distinct logo! One caveat I should mention is that they don't really have food. Sometimes they have a pop up, but the place doesn't open every day. It's not the easiest to find food in the neighbourhood if you are hungry at some random hour after drinking. So come with a full belly, but leave some room for pints and have some fun!

Yelp
Rhinegeist is an absolute must if you're in Cincinnati. This place is massive -- three full floors of brewery goodness, each with its own vibe. From games and hangout spaces to a seriously beautiful rooftop, there's no shortage of things to do or spots to chill. That rooftop? Unreal. I could've sat up there for hours just soaking in the skyline with a cold beer in hand. It's one of the best views in the city, hands down. And the beer? Top-notch. Every pour was solid, with plenty of variety to keep things interesting. I had more than a few (no regrets), and ended up liking it so much I grabbed one of their shirts to take a piece of the experience home. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Rhinegeist delivers on every level -- beer, atmosphere, and all-around good times.

Yelp
My lady and I have been to Rhinegeist a few times and always enjoyed it. Great beer, great staff, and the place itself is very cool. When we heard about a plant swap event coming, it gave us a great excuse to go again, and we enjoyed it too. They had plant vendors and other vendors all over the place. They had food vendors there as well and we loved The Empenada Box so much we bought one of every empenada they offered. Of course, the brews were pouring, as well as specialty cocktails made for the plant swap. I really like that they do so many special events like this and do many more. Even if an event isn't going on, the place is great to visit for some epic brews. There are plenty of bars all over the place to get a pint or two. Definitely check out the rooftop bar. Don't worry about seating because this brewery is big enough to accommodate LARGE parties and still have room for more. Even if you don't drink, they have something for you with lots of nonalcoholic options. I think my lady and I should visit more often.

Yelp
This brewery is spacious, easy to find and has a great selection on tap! They have a rooftop deck, which is perfect between April and October in the nicer weather. It's great for a date, birthday party dinner or even a large convention of 150+ people. I love the dark stout ink, but there are plenty of other lighter beers to choose from.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome, oversized venue. The main floor is huge, with tons of tables, cornhole, ping-pong, and plenty of room to spread out. Honestly, there's so much space it almost feels like it much be a challenge for them to figure out how to use it all. And just when you think you've seen it all, there's more. If the weather's nice, definitely head up to the large rooftop deck, which has its own bar, bathrooms, and a view. It's a perfect spot to relax with a drink. The beer selection is solid, with a good mix of sours, ciders, and traditional brews. I couldn't really find what I usually look for in a NEIPA (that seemed to be the case across much of the city), but their take on it was still good. Either way, there are plenty of options to sample and keep you entertained. I could've easily spent more time here, but we already had a couple and needed to head off to dinner. Great place for groups--especially if you need space to spread out. One heads-up: there are a lot of stairs to get in, and even more stairs to reach the large rooftop deck--but there are elevators if needed. TIP - If you're trying to avoid driving (and parking), take advantage of the city's free streetcar, the Connector, and hop off at Stop 11. It's easy to use with near zero experience because all the streetcars run the same loop. No need to worry about which one to take--they all go to the same places. Cars come by each stop every 10-15 minutes. Uber is also a decent option in the area.

Yelp
Really good IPAs, Truth IPA was my favorite. Large, very spacious brewery, lots of tables. Sucks they don't have a kitchen but do have some not so good pretzels and pizza.
google avatar

Karen F.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon and it was the day of the Derby. Our group scored a high top table and enjoyed the brewery. Most of the group were not drinkers, but we enjoyed the pretzel and beer cheese. I walked around the brewery. What a great place to hang out.
google avatar

Jack L.

Yelp
Rhinegeist feels like a full-on beer compound with multiple layers to explore. Big space, cool vibe, and plenty of room to hang out. The beers are tasty and the variety makes it easy to find something you'll like. The vending machine pretzels threw us off -- and they taste exactly like vending machine pretzels.
google avatar

Jaewon K.

Yelp
It was hotter than hades on the rooftop but I'd love to come back on a fall day. Loved the cornhole, ping pong, and mini golf options indoors. Massive interior and great beer/sour/cider selection.
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
I love Rhinegeist beers and it was fun to visit their taproom in the heart of a historic Cincinnati brewing district. They had a great selection of special beers to try in pints or flights, including imperial and blood orange varieties of Bubbles, ciders, sours, and more. There is a ton of space and seating and even areas to play beanbags. There were families hanging out with kids on the picnic tables. Food options were mostly snacks like soft pretzels and a pizza vending machine (?! I want to see this in action). I'd love to come back in the summer and try the rooftop.
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
As of summer 2025 they're going through an outside remodel. Parking was a bit of a hassle as it's located on a pretty busy street with just one public lot across street. Inside the building is amazing though. Huge old warehouse vibe and it feels like different stations where you have some seats work laptop users, bathrooms, drink ordering, merch ordering, and a pizza machine. And in the middle of it all are picnic benches with a couple mini golf holes and ping pong tables, perfect to keep my kids busy. Beers are all average to a bit above average, nothing spectacular but solid. Feels like it's mainly slanted toward soccer fans as they have a lot of soccer on big screen TVs. Probably the #1 brewery spot for out of towners.

Yelp
The Rhinegeist brewery is in the most historic and coolest building. We loved the beer selection and N/A options too. They had a celebration for Black History Month today and we enjoyed meeting some very creative and talented vendors. Enjoyed some creole food and very good music.

Yelp
This place is gigantic. There are games to play. Great for groups. Rooftop in summer!

Yelp
I had Rhinegeist circled as a place to visit in Cincy for weeks before our trip. (I drove 10 hours to visit the city and truly enjoyed it except for this place) I wanted to see the architecture of the building, try out their beers and enjoy a Saturday evening. The guy at the door told us we could not enter at 7:55PM because in five minutes my son (under 21) would not be allowed in. Gave no reason. We walked over a mile to make Rhinegeist a part of our trip to Cincinnati, but couldn't even walk through the building. Rhinegeist really pissed me off. I've been to breweries all over the country and I've seen dogs, people with infants, families, grieving families after a funeral etc etc at all hours of the day. I wasn't even allowed to talk to anyone about it. I tried to explain how far we just walked and was shooed away by the door man. Their website clearly states - Kids are more than welcome to visit the brewery! All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We were greeted at Northern Row down the street with open arms AND STAYED AS LONG AS WE WANTED TO!!!! I'll never drink another Rhinegeist Beer again for how they treated me. Especially in front of my son. You made my kid feel like he was a boat anchor. He was apologizing to me. Nothing to apologize for, just piss poor management. SHAME ON YOU RHINEGEIST
google avatar

Mary F.

Yelp
When we said we were going to be in Cincinatti everyone was saying we had to check out Rhinegeist. We have had some of their beers before but it wasn't necessarily at the top of our list. First the parking. There is a small lot across the street which was completely full. There also was no handicap parking available. We circled trying to find street parking without much luck. The one lot was pretty expensive, especially just to have a beer. We finally did find a lot a few blocks away. We managed but it was tricky in my wheelchair with sidewalks in pretty sad shape. Once we got inside and took the elevator up you come into the main taproom. It is huge with seating areas at both ends and a wide open space in the center with cornhole. The bar is all the way at the opposite end. There were kids running around and it was quite loud so we found an unoccupied corner to sit. They have a decent taplist, nothing crazy. I selected a barrel aged stout they had on. The beer was just ok. There was nothing wrong with it but it also didn't stand out amongst some of the great beers we were having on our trip. Overall I'm glad we checked it out but I doubt returning will be a priority. I would definitely recommend going on a weeknight when it hopefully wouldn't be as crazy.

Yelp
We passed this brewery on a hidden brewery caverns tour and our tour guide said we should stop by so we did after the tour. So many fun things to look at from the time you walk in the door, all the way up the stairs until you get to the big open area bar up top. Lots to do up there. Cornhole and other things and then the bar had lots of options. We learned about a special brew on our tour made from over 100 year old yeast called the missing lynq which my husband tried. I'm not a beer drinker so I asked for some recommendations and did a flight with four different brews. We all laughed bc the one beer on my flight that smelled the absolute best was amazingly sour. I was able to drink it though. Very different. The other three were fruity and almost had a wine cooler like taste which worked for me. My husband liked the missing lynq he tried.

Yelp
Rhinegest is the pinnacle of what Cincinnati is all about. The atmosphere is perfect for a cool brewery in a unique space. I love the corn hole too. Their beers are delicious, my favorites includes Juicy Truth and their Bubbly options. They have both beer for beginners and experienced IPA lovers, and options for people who aren't into beer. The outdoor patio is beautiful and gives great views of OTR.
google avatar

My N.

Yelp
Ambiance. Love this place on a cool spring afternoon, the community vibes with family blended with young professionals. One of the hidden gems over the rhine. Go for the flight so you can try the different beer they have on available

Yelp
This place was recommended from our airbnb host! We spent my boyfriend's birthday night here and had such a great time! We didn't have high hopes because we didn't look too much into this place before going, but we're so surprised how much fun we had! Upon arrival, you climb up 3 flights of stairs and once you get to the top, it gives an old warehouse vibe. It's a huge space! There's cornhole, pingpong, and lots of tvs! When we went, it was march madness so lots of people watching. The bar has tons of options and a very clear menu! We got flights and were surprised when they were only about $10 each! And you get 4 drinks (about 3oz each) so you can try whatever you want. We did 2 flights each totaling around $42 which we thought was a great price! Def recommend if in the area or bar hopping. Everyone was super friendly too!
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
Great views of the hills and city, good vibe and kid friendly. Merch is a bit hit or miss but the beer is too notch
google avatar

Serge C.

Yelp
The beer is very much a crowd pleaser. Not super creative but very well executed. The true strength is the great service, location, and the amazing taproom.
google avatar

Shreya T.

Yelp
Cool place to hang out with friends as. It's a good place to have any team outings for cooperate. They have an amazing collection of beers.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
I talked to a coworker about going to a trivia night here. I happened to spot her and invited her to join my friend group at a larger table. She mentioned her other friend would be joining us with some cocktails. A few minutes later my high school friend appeared with those cocktails. I had no idea they knew each other! We chatted for hours and had a great time playing trivia. Anyways, hope you liked the story. I love this place
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
We did the tour and I'm thoroughly surprised more people don't! The tour was $10/pp but came with a chip for a free drink (a $6 value). So if you girl math it up that means that I got the tour for only $4 because I planned on buying a drink anyways! The tour guide was super casual since we had a small group of about 6, he had great insight on the processes and kept us entertained with facts about the beer but also the building and its history! You also get to see a lot of areas that are off limits or cant be seen from the main area. The tour isn't super long, I think we spent 30 minutes together total, but it was the perfect amount of time to explore the production side before returning to the guest facing side. And again, only $10!!
google avatar

Penelope J.

Yelp
It smelt so bad that me and my sister (We are 13 and 12) had to go to the bathroom the whole time because that was the only place that didn't smell and I was literally sobbing. it smelt so bad that I have a massive headache and want to throw up. I'm shaking so bad and I feel as if I'm going to faint.. so once we got back to the car I ended up passing out. The only thing we got were waters.
google avatar

Erin D.

Yelp
Great spot for a beer, a game of corn hole, and gathering with friends. We had my husband's birthday party here and loved having the ability to bring in food and have tables reserved.
google avatar

Kristine S.

Yelp
We are always on the lookout for a new brewery especially when we go out of town. Hubby found Rhinegeist while in Cincinnati for a wedding last weekend so we decided to check it out. First impression, this place was huge! Large indoor taproom, awesome rooftop area and private event spaces. They really have it all! Now for their beers aka the best part! We tried quite a few of them. Cheetah, Antelope, Uncle, Franz, Cincy Light - all very good! I liked their selection of beer styles, something for everyone! While they had a nice variety of beer to choose from, they also are big on ciders. The bartenders were all pleasant and helpful. My favorite area was the rooftop. We even got to enjoy a sunset during our evening visit. Overall, awesome atmosphere and delicious beer!

Yelp
Rhinegeist Brewery is a testament to Cincinnati's vibrant craft beer culture, offering a diverse range of brews in a dynamic and inviting setting. From its inception, Rhinegeist has been a beacon of creativity and quality, consistently delivering exceptional beers that keep enthusiasts coming back for more. Rhinegeist is not afraid to push boundaries and experiment with unique flavor profiles, resulting in a lineup that spans the spectrum from crisp lagers to bold IPAs and everything in between. The staff are always friendly and able to give you beer recommendations if you're overwhelmed by the amount of selections. My personal favorite is Cincy Light or Water Melly. The brewery's taproom has an industrial-relaxed aesthetic with ample seating and a lively atmosphere. The main brewery room is completely open and you can even see where they are making the beer. The picnic tables make it the perfect place to gather with friends and even have a friendly (but competitive) cornhole tournament. Upstairs is a rooftop bar that overlooks Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood that is always fun for a date night. In addition to their stellar beer offerings, Rhinegeist also plays host to a variety of events and activities, from live music performances to yoga classes and everything in between. It's a hub of community, where everyone can come together to celebrate good beer and good company.

James H.

Yelp
Rooftop patio bar was amazing. Views were fantastic. The only disappointing thing about the day was that they do not serve food. They do have a pizza vending machine that did not work, but this is a venue that could easily have a kitchen attached. It would add so much to the experience.
google avatar

Aubrie H.

Yelp
This taproom is so fun! We visited here once before and took a tour, which we recommend, but this time we just stopped by for a drink. They have so many options to choose from, some sold in stores and others only available there. There are plenty of seats and cornhole to play as well. A fun atmosphere which we are excited to visit again and finally check out the rooftop.
google avatar

Victoria H.

Yelp
I've been wanting to check this place out for years! Huge indoor space with plenty of tables and TVs. Head up the stairs to check out the roof top views on all sides. The Local Cantina has great, quick food options if you stop in and need a snack with your drink! *they do summer brunch on select Sundays that includes a variety of alcohols and food is provided
google avatar

Adam G.

Yelp
Rhinegeist Brewery is sweet. The inside is massive, and they have games sprawled throughout (cornhole, connect four). There are lots of TV's and tons of large picnic tables. Not to mention the beer is great. If you're in the Cincy area, visiting Rhinegeist should be a must!

D L.

Yelp
Most amazing venue. Megan and Cass were wonderful to work with. Very responsive and helpful. The venue was perfect for the party. The bar tenders were excellent. I highly recommend the lounge room for an event. The food by Gomez was also very good. I recommend them as well. Thank you for making the party a success!
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
This place is dope. The brewery is huge and awesome. Went there with a bunch of family and friends for UC parents weekend and there was plenty of seating, plenty of drinks, and plenty of games. There was even a rooftop bar. You go up to a counter and order and they were all very nice. Yummy food too.

Scott C.

Yelp
All the beers we had were fairly decent. Our bartender wasn't very knowledgeable about how the beers were brewed and had to look up our questions about production on his phone. We ordered a soft pretzel and it must have been days old as it was hard as a rock. The beer cheese that accompanied it was coagulated and had mold.
google avatar

Anita M.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots in Cincinnati was Rheingeist brewery where we were able to walk up to the rooftop and enjoy beautiful views with high quality beer The main floor had awesome fall themed aesthetics (I was able to harass someone to take of me and my friend) and tons of space. I was particularly fascinated by the hills in Cincinnati and the Rhinegeist rooftop was the best place to take it all in! 10/10 recommend and I knooooowww we will be back!
google avatar

Nathan O.

Yelp
"The Truth" is defiently the truth! The best IPA I've had this year. If the rooftop is open that is a perfect place to grab a beer. They have a few beers that have a logo next to it to let you know its on happy hour. If you're a beer lover you're going to enjoy this spot. It's not too far from the University of Cincy fields and stadiums so it's a good spot to check out before a game.
google avatar

Julie W.

Yelp
Rhinegeist brewery has a great atmosphere. They also host events throughout the year at their brewery. We attended their Art on Vine event where local crafters are located in the brewery. It is a nice atmosphere to enjoy a craft beer and look at local artwork and locally made food. It was busy but nonetheless very enjoyable - especially on a cold day! Oh, forgot to mention that their beer selection is large and varied and each brew we tried was tasty.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
Fantastic brewery! Been drinking Truth for years in Cleveland and finally visited here this past weekend. This place is HUGE. You can probably fit an entire village in here. The beer is tops, of course. Plenty of space to play games, watch games on the TV, or play corn hole! A must see if you are in the Nati!

Yelp
No real food. A giant beer hall that smells like spilled beer. Service was pleasant. Some bags and ping pong and other games to mess with. It had beer. Some were good. Some were not. Go if you just wanna drink beer.

ems

Yelp
It smelled ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING in there, both me and my sister were extremely nauseous and we had to sit in the bathroom the entire time so we didn't throw up. Horrible.
google avatar

Mckenzie J.

Yelp
I'm from out of town, and I have never been to a brewery this large! I was worried there wouldn't be many options for beer dislikers like me but they had multiple options. I loved the atmosphere here! They had tons of TVs, plenty of long tables and high tops, and bags. Although it was busy, there is so much space to hang out. Next time I'd love to check out the rooftop which I heard is nice as well!
google avatar

Lindsey K.

Yelp
Heard that this is a very well known brewery and I know why! The space is huge, multiple levels and even a rooftop with great views of the city. The drinks are reasonably priced and there are lot sod beers to choose from including various lagers, IPAs, sours, and others. The staff was nice and told us "we just want people to have a good time."
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
Had a really great afternoon visit at Rhinegeist brewery and the weather made it all the much better! You definitely need to make sure you check out the rooftop (which I wasn't even prepared for but was an added cherry on top of this already awesome visit that included beer, flights and game area and lots of stairs). you can also get buckets of lager if that's what you're into but for somebody who is into tasting lots of different awesome beers I would highly recommend.
google avatar

Rob K.

Yelp
Living four hours away I've enjoyed sampling on a Rhinegeist beer here and there. I've especially enjoyed their IPAs. During my recent visit I had the HOP Pantry and my wife had a less hoppy option. Both beers were fantastic. I've had Truth and Dad prior to my visit. Venue itself is great. We were here at 12:15 PM on NYE. Easy free parking, pleasant staff and family friendly. If you are in Cincinnati, especially the Over the Rhine area you definitely want to stop. Great vibe , I'd go back in a second, especially later in the day.
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
Rhinegeist Brewery converted an old bottling building into a great venue for the Cincy community! They have a great selection of beer, ample amount of seating, and a great atmosphere for family and friends. The staff is great, as they helped me choose my flight of beer, and my favorite was Franz, their Oktoberfest. Rhinegeist has a rooftop seating area, so I can see the rooftop being a great place to hang out on a nice warm day. Also, they use their venue for wedding receptions, as I saw a bride and groom taking photos. Will be back again whenever I'm in Cincy!

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for years, and yesterday I finally got to it. Amazing beers in a cool, industrial atmosphere. They have cornhole and board games, that you can play. Very friendly service, and they had cool merchandise items to browse and buy. One place they could improve would be with food/snacks: they had a very dry pretzel with no dipping sauce options (no mustard, beer cheese, etc). They allowed outside food, but I would've stayed and spent longer if they had their own beyond some small offerings like bagged chips.
