Riad Hotels in the Old Medinas of Morocco

"We’ve got nothing against riads owned by foreigners, but it’s a mark in Riad Fès’s favor that its owner is Moroccan, and an architect, no less — the interiors are a good bit more confident than in the average riad hotel, and you can tell it was laid out with some care. It’s on the large size for a riad, but the intimate atmosphere and personalized service riad hotels are famous for are there, in spades." - Mark Fedeli

Great choice ! Very nice and helpful staff (Mohammed, Noha and Abduuh. They have a stylish garden (riad), there they will serve there tea, coffee and food or on their terrace. Location, quite easy to spot. The rooms are clean, pretty spacious. You will have hot water/shower, air conditioner/heater, tv and bed. For more facilities you can ask them before arriving, to be sure (like airport pick-up). We tried other riads, but from all we recommend to stay at Farah riad. Great value vs price. Note: all riads have some rooms upstairs, be prepared to climb a few stairs.

I had a wonderful stay at Riad Farah, located right in the heart of Fes Medina. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful — and their English was excellent, which made communication easy. The riad itself is both comfortable and beautifully traditional, with a charming atmosphere that reflects the local culture. The location is perfect — step outside and you’re immediately in the bustling old city of Fes. The room and bathroom were both very clean, and I appreciated the little touches like a hairdryer being available. Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Riad in a perfect location just off of one of the main streets in the Medina. Service has been fantastic, the staff are very attentive and can help you out with anything that you need. Highly recommend!

Awesome riad. Staff goes above and beyond to help with anything you need. Great english for us too. Even gave us their whatsapp so we could contact them with questions while we were out and about. Very steep stairs to upper levels, but they took all our bags up for us - not expecting tip. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. Bathroom very small, but fine for our stay. There were previous reviews about being pressured to pay in cash, but this was not our experience. Very happy for us to pay anyway we needed/wanted - although a standard bank fee of 5% applied for paying by card (May 2025). Breakfast was great on the rooftop. Even organised a very simple takeaway breakfast for our very early morning getaway on our last morning as well as organising our taxi to airport €20. Also helped with our bags and walked us to our taxi - 3:30am. Mid 30s Australian couple.

Great location, only a short walk from the Blue Gate. Mustafa, Mohammed, and the sweet girl working the desk are all amazing. Very kind, knowledgeable, and quick to answer questions. They helped arrange a trip to a Hammam for us on our second night and on our second morning when we had an early check out before their normal breakfast hours they provided us some snacks for the road. 10/10 experience, we've stayed in Raids from Marrakech, Sahara, Chefchaouen, to Tangier. This one stood out amongst them all.

Riad Farah is an excellent place to stay, located very close to various cultural sites. The interior of the building is simply stunning, and the breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. But the highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality of the staff, who took the time and care to explain how to explore the city. They even gave us a map with key places marked and recommended how to organize our days efficiently. One day, we had to leave early before breakfast hours, and they kindly prepared a delicious breakfast for us to take away. Special thanks to the amazing Mreyem and Souki for assisting us with everything. It was an unforgettable experience, and we can’t wait to return!

Our stay at Riad Farah was nothing short of amazing! The personnel truly go above and beyond, offering a level of care and attentiveness that feels more like staying with friends than at a hotel. From the moment we arrived, they were eager to share their knowledge of the medina, giving excellent recommendations on must-visit spots and practical advice, including how to navigate around less welcoming guides. The room was beautifully kept—super clean and cozy, offering a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The breakfast is absolutely fabulous, with a variety of fresh, delicious options that set the perfect tone for the day. We also enjoyed dinner here, which was equally impressive. The terrace is a wonderful highlight, offering breathtaking views of the sunrise and a peaceful space to unwind. The Riad’s location in the medina is ideal, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and kiosks where you can easily find whatever you need. All in all, the team at Riad Farah ensured we had a wonderful experience, and we can’t recommend this place enough! We’ll definitely be back!
