Rib Shack

Do NOT order catering from this place. After putting in an order almost a week ago for almost $2000 worth of food, it was not ready at the pickup time. There are hundreds of people waiting for their food and an hour and a half after the food was supposed to ready, I'm still waiting with no explanation on what's taking so long. It will be a very lonnngggf time before I step foot back in here. If you need something on time, don't bother coming here. Update: I got part of my order after waiting an hour and 45 minutes. I left and came back 30 minutes later to pick up the rest. Timing is one thing , quality is something completely different. I ordered multiple items and was EXTREMELY disappointed. First, the stuffing was not cooked at all it was wet soggy bread or breadcrumbs. The turkey wings were TOUGH and should of cooked longer. The cabbage was mixed with collards and they were gritty. I have never in my entire life had a worse catering experience. I do multiple catering events every single year and I will NEVER give Rib Shack my business again. I like to buy black whenever possible and circulate money within the community to other black businesses but they are officially off the list. I was fully prepared to remove my earlier review about the lateness and post something positive but the quality of the food was just disrespectful.

I literally called and asked do the have what I wanted because I’m driving from 25 minutes away and I don’t wanna waste my time . I was told yes and expressed that I was coming from 25 minutes away so I asked, could I place the order over the phone to ensure that when I get there none of the items are finished or sold out and I was told no they don’t do orders over the phone unless it’s a large catering order so after driving 25 minutes to the restaurant, they proceeded to tell me that they ran out of What I wanted so essentially I just wasted my time driving 25 minutes here for no reason

The food is not good. Back in the 80's 90's they were really good. I had turkey wings and they were dry. I found out they were suppose to be smothered turkey wings. Not smothered enough. I also had cabbage and string beans which was ok. The cornbread was not good. I will never eat from here again.

Service was decent/pleasant. Unfortunately can’t say the same for the food. I don’t know how the neighborhood allows this place to stay in business. The short ribs were tough. Cabbage medley was soggy/ overcooked. “Baked” Mac n cheese was HORRIBLE. This was by far the WORST Mac n Cheese I had second to RCL. First there was only cheese on the top….nothing mixed in the noodles. The mess fell apart and had no flavor or seasoning. The peach cobbler was so DISGUSTING. The crust was not cooked. It was raw. Canned peaches. Excessive nutmeg and cinnamon. Like the rest of the food I tossed that in the trash too. Oh yeah… Lastly, the jerk pork was not jerked.. it was wet.. drenched in some liquid. It was stewed.. just like the Rib Shack. Now I recall why I haven’t patronized this place in years. What a huge disappointment, waste of $40 and more importantly a waste of time.

Nice Food and great portions. Update 12/12/23. Food has gone down crazy!! We owners. Rib shack isn’t the same. Potato salad was great, now it’s just mush and soft like pudding. I had ordered food from this establishment and the food had no taste. The food used to be good. There is no seasoning on the food. The cornbread didn’t taste or look like it. The lima beans came right of a can with no added seasoning. Southern food should have flavor and none of it resembles. I’ll stick with Southern Girls and Maxine’s.

I just received an order with DoorDash I placed consisting of Ribs, Mac n Cheese and potato salad. The Mac n cheese is SUPER HARD & BURNT!! How could ANYONE send this and call it Edible!! I should be refunded not good!! Pic shows how hard Mac n Cheese is!!

The most nasty BBQ I ever tasted in my life. The sauce look Ketchup on the ribs, the greens are sweet. Yams are hug chunks and tough.
