Ricardo Sanz Wellington

"In this elegant restaurant, located inside the luxury Hotel Wellington and overseen by award-winning chef Ricardo Sanz, savour spectacular nigiri prepared with rice from the Ebro delta, carabinero prawn usuzukuri with a salsa made from its own coral, and tuna tataki with vitello tonnato, alongside signature dishes such as “huevos rotos”, in which the eggs are accompanied by fingers of Canary Island potatoes and bluefin tuna instead of the usual ham. The chef has developed a legendary reputation by being the first to move away from the hallowed turf of Spanish cuisine to introduce a concept that combined Japanese and Mediterranean cooking, in so doing opening the door to influences from elsewhere (Mexico, Korea etc) but where the very best Iberian ingredients still provide the backbone. Allow yourself to be guided in your pairings (wine, sake, tea or beer) by the sommelier, and whatever you do, don’t pass up the chance to savour the delicate mochis to round off your dining experience." - Michelin Inspector

This was my first experience at a Michelin Star Restaurant. The experience as a whole (Food, Service, Ambiance) was a notch above any other restaurant I've been to. We took the Degustation Menu which included roughly 10 services. Every dish had unique flavour and plating. Most of the fishes were served raw which attest to their freshness. We also had wine/cocktails recommended by the Sommelier. If you are looking for a gastronomic Japanese experience I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was absolutely delicious and I want to especially point out that the sommelier did a great job pairing it with the finest selection of Sake! Japanese Mediterranean fusion, excellent combination. A top recommendation and I will definitely come again

My wife and I went to celebrate my birthday and really enjoyed our evening. We ended up not going for the tasting menu because we wanted to try the Wagyu beef, and a couple of other dishes that weren't included, so they helped us design our own tasting menu. Also the sommelier recomended great wines! I really reccoment the "La Inglesa, Fino de Rama" white wine - best one I ever had. The sushi was tasty, fresh, and the wagyo beef steak was out of this world. The only thing thst disappointed us a little was the chocolate desert that was fairly average. I will definitely go back again to try more dishes.

Not the cheapest place in town, but if you want high quality Japanese food, this is the place to be. The service is really good and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The courses are also properly sized, so you won't be hungry at the end of the night!

Being a Michelin star entitles many qualities Kabuki certainly what it has is exotic tasty freshness! WOW, those flavors from last night still dance in my palate. The place is minimalist, trendy, stylish and has a nice lighting ambiance, service was a little all over the place and inconsistent, so we thought that maybe they had people missing g that night, despite that, they were super polite and attentive when we managed to call their attention 😂. We forgot all that with each dish that landed in our table, as there was an exotic presentation each time, and the flavor combinations were even greater. The outmost best was the truffle white fish and carabineros, absolutely outstanding... these two remained on the top of my head, certainly all the others were exquisite too. To know about prices, always remember hat you are sitting in a Michelin star top Japanese Restaurant in Madrid. The location is also perfect in the emblematic VELAZQUEZ street and next to Hotel Wellington, (separate entrance on the right). Fantastic! Well done guys, we had a delightful memorable night!! Here you can find my best shots, when we actually remembered to take pictures, while being in Ow Wow moments!

I went there with my son and we were having a tasting menu. For having a Michelin star in Madrid, I feel in general the experience is less interesting than expected. Service is very good but for quality of food you can get it in a normal restaurant.
