Born at York and now a brick‑and‑mortar, Ricewood marries Texas‑style smoke with island‑style rice bowls. Loved by locals and highlighted by Eater for redefining fast‑casual barbecue in Ann Arbor.

Food was freaking fantastic. Quick service but made fresh. I got a chopped brisket sandwich and a burger. Both were equally so so good. Very generous with the fries portions. I love the Asian flair and the simple menu. Employees were very nice and helpful. No high chair for the baby and seating was limited but still overall a great experience. Owners were very friendly and cool. Burgers are only on the weekends and don’t sleep on it. So good.

I absolutely love Ricewood. My family has been going to Ricewood since it was a food truck off Packard. I have never been disappointed by their food or service. Last night, I got the chopped brisket bowl with pickled onion and sesame cucumbers. It was amazing. The portions are always generous, and absolutely nails classic bbq flavors with an updated twist. Lastly, the service is always impeccable. They make you feel like you're a part of their family. They will go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. Ricewood is required eating for anyone in the Ann Arbor area

Found this place on google and decided to try because of the good reviews. Food came out really fast and staff were very friendly. We both got pork belly, it was really tender and flavorful (I found the rice a little sour but my boyfriend liked it). Definitely recommend trying it out.

Was looking forward to trying out the brisket but ran out. Tried their pulled pork with spare ribs on the side and it was very good. The staff was very friendly

Best ribs we have ever had. 😋 All of their menu is amazing. I've never been disappointed about anything to do this restaurant. Thank you so very much for coming to the Westside. FYI. RIBS were a special menu item today.

Google
The place is more of take out then dine in, but they do have seats along the window. I got the rib, brisket and pork belly bowls and added the extra veggies, which are $1 each. The total came out to like $64.... favorite was the ribs and pork belly, the brisket was bit dry. It took only few minutes to order and get the food, the place wasn't busy when I visited, which was around 11:20am.

June 28, 2023 5/5 stars, more if I could! WOW! This was some amazing BBQ that we just had for lunch. First time ever and never knew there was a second location off N. Maple in Village plaza. Shout out to Walid at Dimo's Deli for the recommendation! Even though we weren't super hungry yet, we wanted to try ALL the proteins offered on the menu to get a sense of what kind of BBQ they served. Pork belly burnt ends are only offered on Wednesdays, so we had to try it. The girl working the register suggested we get that as a ricebowl, and we can add a 4oz serving of pork belly as well. We also added kimchi. The rest of the order included a tofu ricebowl with cucumber and kimchi added. Then to cover all the meats, we got 4oz orders each of brisket, pulled pork and chicken thighs; plus 4 ribs, and lastly an order of waffle fries. Now... let's get into the actual review! Presentation was appetizing for the ricebowls and generous portions. EVERYTHING, even the tofu, was delicious! Well seasoned, heavy on black pepper for some, and the homemade BBQ sauce was yummy and just perfect. But really, you didn't even need it. What I told my kids was that a good brisket is usually the sign for me of some good bbq, and this was hands down, one of the best! Tender, juicy and flavorful. The pork belly in the bowls had just the right amount of crispness to the top like a crust, with enough fat and pork to go with the rice. The burnt ends were chunky bites with a chew to it. None of the items were dried out, which can happen with bbq... everything was tender. My son loved the ribs too. We didn't know the fries would be waffle fries. Nice and crispy, not overdone. Side note, they're not salted, at least ours were not. But that's ok, dip in ketchup, BBQ sauce, or enjoy them just out of the fryer. This place is self-service. There's a pop station with Coke plus variety of local Michigan branded sodas that we also tried every flavor. Orange, rock and rye, root beer, lemonade to name a few. Location has limited seating. Counter space with stools along the windows. There's handicap level seating to accommodate wheelchairs too. I do want to mention that you have to go earlier in the day to order, if you want meats, because by the evening, they're completely sold out. You can also call ahead to check. Last, but not least, great customer service from the register to the kitchen staff. All of the food was prepared with care. We will definitely be back! Great experience!

Please add us to the "KATSU ricebowl" bat signal (or email alerts) when you have it on the menu. A terrific mix of color and flavors - especially when you order it all of the added veggies!

Yelp
On my recent visit to Ann Arbor, our host gave us a choice of items from Ricewood. an Asian BBQ menu. I went along to see what we were having as it would be easier to serve family style at home with a child to serve too. It was not far from their home which was nice at the time of day to be able to have a quick meal. It seems to be mostly takeout, but the staff was very engaging yet efficient. The servings are large so we got a few bowls which we could share at our own family table on a nice screened porch at their home on an early summer evening. My favorite was the brisket. But we also got the pulled pork and the ribs. Each bowl was ample with veggies and rice underneath the meat. We also ordered three sides, the red cabbage slaw, the spiced cucumbers and the kimchi. My favorite was the cucumbers , but the red cabbage was good too. I did not try the kimchi, since I do not digest any kim chi very well. But our hosts enjoy it regularly. Four adults had all they wanted with these choices and there were even leftovers for snacking later. The BBQ sauce had a really nice flavor and we ordered it as not very spicy which was best for our group. It was zesty, but if you want hot you can get it really hot too. Also the price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the items. A truly enjoyable first meal for our visit.

Yelp
First time at this location, their bbq meat taste didn't change from their original location. What did change was the prices and looks like the veggies that were included is now upcharge. Very simple layout, definitely a take out location, but they have seats along the window for dine-in option. The service was good, ordered and food was ready in few minutes. Wasn't fan of the "tipping" when paying, but I guess everyone has to get one board. I got the brisket, ribs and pork belly with the extra veggies for all (all med), came out to like $64 for three bowls. Favorite was the ribs and pork belly, the brisket was bit dry.

Yelp
I saw Amanda L's review of Ricewood recently and knew I had to check it out while in town. This location is in a little suburban strip mall type spot, they do have some seating but we saw quite a bit of takeout happening. The guy taking our order was really helpful with suggestions as it was our first time. I went with the brisket rice bowl, medium spice, and added kimchi. Nate got the pulled pork sandwich. We also got the sesame cucumbers and a side of fries. They threw in a drink for free which was really nice. (Although they didn't have any diet options at the time. I just got some soda water and mixed in a little lemonade.) The food came out and I was shocked at the portion of the rice bowl specifically. I got a ton of brisket for $17 and the bowl felt like it weighed five pounds. We definitely could have split it (and probably should have)! The brisket was pretty tender and there were about 7 perfect slices. The rice was cooked pretty well and seasoned nicely and the kimchi was really good. (Better than the kimchi I had at Miss Kim!) The spice level was perfect for me, not too hot but a nice kick. I had some of the pork from the sandwich and it was tender and not dry. The sesame cucumbers were just okay, I don't think we'd get those again. And the fries were a massive portion. I really like the idea of the Korean/BBQ fusion (not to be confused with Korean BBQ) and think this concept would do really well in Grand Rapids. They have vegetarian options - I'd love to try the Szeuchuan tofu!

Yelp
Very similar to the Ricewood I had at York but much more calm and chill. The cashier and employees were all super smiley and friendly. We got the ribs and brisket over rice. While not cheap, they made up for it in quantity. Each bowl comes heaping with rice and in different spice levels. I made the mistake of getting hot, and it is def no joke! The barbecue is super flavorful and yummy. The ribs had a meaty bite, and the brisket was super tender (my favorite meat)! Although, I def had to take regular water breaks because the spice was pretty intense. Don't let anyone tell you Ann Arbor doesn't have good BBQ!

Yelp
I've been dying to try Ricewood after all the buzz I have heard about it. I came to the Maple location, which is definitely more of a "to-go" sort of place, with just a few bar counter style seating along the wall and window perimeters of the store. My friend and I were meeting up for a quick lunch though, so it worked perfectly for us! Ricewood's menu is pretty straightforward and simple, which I love to see, because that typically means they know what they're good at and they don't need to bother with anything else and I'm here to CONFIRM that that's the case! I ordered the brisket rice bowl, which is definitely their signature. The brisket is so PERFECT! So tender, easy to pull apart or bite into, without being too mushy. The vinegary rice pairs so well with it and with all the other fixings in the bowl, which you can customize on what you want to add or leave out of it. They give you so much within a bowl of theirs, it's super impressive and I had leftovers to take home with me. Heating it up in the microwave with an ice cube did the trick and it tasted just as good at home! For eating right then and there, they basically have rice bowls with different kinds of proteins (including tofu for vegans and vegetarians!) and sandwiches, which subs the rice for buns and has all the same protein options as well. My friend ordered the sandwich and it was also massive and definitely way more messy, so it just depends on what you're in the mood for! Another super cool thing Ricewood offers is their meats by the pound that you can take to go! I was sooo tempted to get some of their delicious brisket! It's all cooked and glorious and I'm sure they would probably provide reheating/general serving instructions if you asked as you took the meat home, but I definitely think I'll be back to take advantage of this option in the near future! I haven't been able to stop thinking about that brisket!!

Yelp
Ricewood is an American BBQ Asian fusion restaurant, which sounds a little odd at first, but is actually genius and delicious. It's located in a strip mall and is small with limited indoor seating. We came pretty late in the day so they were out of most of the meats, which wasn't the worst thing in the world because they did have pulled pork. The guy at the counter was very apologetic and went out of his way to make sure the dietary restrictions I have were accommodated. I got a pulled pork bowl with kimchi and pickled onions and was fully not prepared for how big it was. It had to have been 1-2lbs of food in that bowl. I ate maybe half of it before I started going into a food coma and saved the rest for later. It made great leftovers! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Ann Arbor, but earlier in the day to try some different meats!

Yelp
This is partly a review for Ricewood (Maple) and partly a review for Ricewood hosted Meogjia pop up events (which I think have happened twice now!). I stopped by here yesterday for the second Meogjia pop up, and am so happy that Ricewood hosts these, supporting local/small businesses - Meogjia who sources from other local/small businesses Q Bakehouse and Dave Makes Pasta. All the food at these pop ups are always a hit. This time I got the Korean Bolognese Lasagna and the Taiwanese 3 Cup Chicken Meatball Sub. Yum and yum. Last time I got a Pimento Cheese Bulgogi Sando and Polenta Cake Dakbokkeomtang. Everything we've tried has been SO tasty with a real depth of flavor. Part of the proceeds also go to Ozone House. Shoutout Meogjia and props to Ricewood for hosting these! The only bummer (though totally makes sense logistically) is that I can't also get Ricewood while I'm there for these pop ups! Would love to take home Ricewood BBQ while I'm at it, as their meat is SO GOOD. The Ricewood Rice Bowls are insanely tasty, and unique compared to other BBQ joints in the area given the Asian flavor fusion. Every meat I've tried has been tasty, but I especially love the tender brisket. And I love all the add ons. Plus the Maple location has waffle fries!! I've also ordered just the meat (priced by weight) to go as well, which has really elevated my at home bowls/salads.

Lance F.

Yelp
This place is absolutely dreadful. The first time I went, the meat was dry and the bowls (all three) were so sour. There was no balance at all and they are terrible at smoking meat. The second time I went, the same exact thing happened. I actually couldn't even finish the bowls the second time because they were even more sour. This place is honestly just a trendy place that doesn't really know how to craft food so that it is tender and well-balanced flavor-wise. People rave about it because most people follow trends. If you care about having a well-crafted, balanced meal, you should go somewhere else. Also, the first time I went I had to wait so long to get a small thing of ketchup that my fries were cold. I was told the ketchup was on the counter. Went to the counter and it wasn't there. Informed them and they said they would grab it right away. Then I see them helping new customers instead. Several minutes go by, and I ask again. Again, the same thing happens. I inform them again after several minutes, and a guy comes out and puts a thing down on the table and gives the most in-genuine "sorry". I couldn't even try to enjoy my meal (which was so bad it wouldn't have been enjoyed anyway)

Yelp
Super good food! The umami savory yumm of this place will bring back again and again.

Yelp
Great barbecue. They offer many dishes, bowls, and platters. The staff is always most helpful and the food never fails to impress. Go get it!

Yelp
Great place for take out. Highly recommend the brisket, side of kimchi, hot sauce is really spicy order it on the side.

Yelp
Catering review Office assistant ordered Ricewood for our co-worker's baby shower celebration luncheon. It was my suggestion but she did the planning and ordering. Home run! Everyone loved it. They asked where it was and what the sauces were, etc. I think I gave them a good run down but I would suggest little fliers with catering contact info and the story of ricewood bowls to put in the food tables for people to learn about it. Rice, brisket, kimchi, cucumbers and fruit. Of course there were the sauces too. Not spicy and medium are provided. You have to ask for hot but it's pretty fire so it has to be used carefully. The BBQ sauce was a favorite. Frank and his team really delivered (literally). Highly recommended. The spread pictured fed 25 with a bit to spare. Half of the office has dibs on leftovers already. Lol

Yelp
New favorite BBQ place in SE Michigan. Since my wife and I went a month ago (where we barely made it in before they sold out of everything), I've since been back 4 times. The staff has been super nice and friendly every time I've been. Everything I've tried has been great so far. The mushroom burger from October's burger of the month has caused me to reevaluate my dislike of mushrooms. Even the smoked tofu was delicious, though it needed something to complement it and I wouldn't recommend it by itself. The rib rub reminds me of ribs I had in Louisville, KU at FEAST BBQ. Very tasty. I will be going back soon, bringing more friends and family when I do.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
I've been so tired of BBQ but thought I would try this and I'm glad I did. It's a cool concept. A rice bowl but with your favorite type of BBQ. I got the pork belly and it is insane good. Had to get a fountain drink, they have Rock and Rye on draught. Come on now how can this place be bad. I'll come back for sure
google avatar

Areon J.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY GAS! Litterally went here and cured my depression. The food is a huge plus and is so delicious that I actually attempt to save some for later. Their service is impeccable as well. There is a very short wait for the food but it's awesome because you could Shazam their whole playlist and be ready for the next event you throw. Literally have never had a complaint from here. GET THE FRIES! Best fries in the city!!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I regularly frequent Ricewood at York and was stoked to learn about this new dedicated storefront. This location has FRIES (waffle fry style)! So loaded fries here are a must! Ricewood still has the best brisket in Michigan so that's also a must get. This location also has different specials than the York location so check the 'gram. Parking is way better as Maple Village is a bit more spacious. Seating is more bar-style than sit-down. Still order at counter for pick up style!

Jacob G.

Yelp
I'm glad that I stumbled upon this place. The brisket rice bowl with sesame cucumbers and kimchi might be my deathbed meal. Whether you visit here or their other location, you will not be disappointed. Food is spectacular, but the staff is what keeps me coming back; super down to earth, friendly crew.
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
I have heard about Ricewood from a few friends in the past but being new to the area, I turned to Yelp for recommendations. I saw Ricewood pop up and decided it was time to give it a try. With no menu preparation or any idea what I was walking into. My girlfriend and I headed that way. We were greeted by Darren who was extremely helpful and friendly during what I assumed to be their busiest time of day, Lunch. He took the time to explain the items and add ons to us without us feeling rushed. I ordered the brisket bowl, with all of the bonus add ons, spicy. It was HOT. The heat was forward and left my mouth warm the entire time I was eating. I would definitely tell people who are unsure of spice to stay away. However, those of us that enjoy heat. It's a warm one. The brisket was great. I loved the rice and add-ins. The price was not insane for the amount of food you get. They also serve sodas made in Detroit. All around it was great. My girlfriend also enjoy her szechuan chicken bowl. We will be back for sure.
google avatar

Bob M.

Yelp
I had the brisket bowl (spicy level) and it was excellent. The brisket was tender, juicy and benefited from the added spices. The rice bowl is a nice way to enjoy the brisket besides the typical sandwich. During this visit I ate-in but the food easily lends itself to carry out. The counter service was friendly and had they helpful suggestions to guide my ordering on this first time visit (specifically cautioning me regarding the spice level I ordered-hot, it was perfectly fine.) The atmosphere is "fast food" but of a higher quality and of course you get to enjoy the aroma of the smokers. I will add this place to our list of carry-outs in this part of town.
google avatar

Adam L.

Yelp
Excellent bbq. This place has the meats. Melt in your mouth brisket and pulled pork. Get in here. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Matt A.

Yelp
The pork belly rice bowl was very moist and tender with a large portion of rice underneath. I went with the recommended chili crisps and ordered it with a medium sauce which had enough heat that didn't keep it from losing flavor. The rice bowl had enough leftovers for the next day. This is the best pork belly I have had and we will be returning here in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
We catered from Ricewood for a high school graduation open house and the food was such a hit! We worked with Darin and it was such a smooth and easy process from beginning til end. We ordered the beef brisket (the big time favorite of many of our guests), Szechuan tofu and chicken, a couple trays of Mac and Cheese and the rice bowls. This included 3 different sauces, chopped tomatoes and green onions. We had plenty of food and leftovers for more than 100 guests and made lots of fried rice for leftovers. I had several guests wanting catering information because of how happy they were with the food. We've also been here for just a quick meal and the service and food are always great. Thank you Darin and team for such delicious food and a wonderful catering experience!
google avatar

Raymond T.

Yelp
Quality: 4.5/5 Hospitality: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Most likely the best smoked meats I've ate in Ann Arbor. I did ask for medium spice, but the sauce tasted more sour than spicy. Customer service was average with a 15 minute wait. The restaurant was packed since it shared the space with another restaurant. Wouldn't go again.
google avatar

Susie A.

Yelp
Yum! Great combination of bbq and Asian flavors.. The staff is always great a must try
google avatar

Jonathan A.

Yelp
Came here with some friends for takeout . They said this was the best brisket they'd ever had so we had to check it out. I got a brisket sandwich and my wife got a brisket rice bowl. My sandwich was just ok. All my brisket was burnt ends and just not that great. My wife had extra brisket and shared a piece with me and it was quite good, perfect texture and better flavor. If it wasn't for her meal, I'd say 3 stars. Put the good brisket on the sandwich!
google avatar

Leigh B.

Yelp
Staff were very friendly and helpful in making our choices. Since this was a cuisine. We With which we are not familiar. We tried the medium, but did not find it to have much heat So will likely notch it up on a return visit. Serving size was quite large easily could've shared one bowl, but it was great to have leftovers for later that evening or the next day!
google avatar

Anqi H.

Yelp
The brisket rice bowl was sooooo good! The brisket was super tender and moist. It was just fatty enough to not be too much. Having it on sushi rice was genius! The rice vinegar in the rice paired so well with the meat! It also helped to portion control how much meat I was eating. The only thing I would recommend is adding some veggies to the bowl. Then I would eat it every meal! We came here on a Friday night, and were able to get in and out pretty quick. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely be back for more!
google avatar

Yelp
I heard rumblings that Ricewood was opening a location the west side many moons ago and got excited. Then I heard rumblings that it was going into the Maple Village shopping center and I got REALLY excited. And then I heard that they finally opened and I got REALLY REALLY excited. And they did not disappoint! Placed an order online for a brisket sandwich and fries and the pulled pork rice bowl for my husband and I. And oh my word was it all incredible. The meat on the sandwich was perfection. The bowl was generous and easily could make two meals. Online ordering was a breeze and pick up was even easier (my only critique is maybe a little too much salt for my taste on the waffle fries, I had to dust them off). My mouth is watering just writing this review thinking about how good it all is. Love that you can also order meats and sides a-la-cart. My mom and I already scheming a build your own pulled pork sandwich bar for a family dinner soon. Order early since they do run out of things.
google avatar

Abby B.

Yelp
Amazing. So amazing that I almost don't want to tell you how amazing it is so that I won't have more competition to get food here. Since I live nearby, I can pick up lunch easily and take-out times are pretty quick. My husband and I are slowly making our way through their menu, and our favorites so far are their pork belly and brisket bowls. Don't skip the chili crisp on your rice bowl. We're dying to try their burgers and loaded fries, but haven't braved the lines for Friday or Saturday night yet. But we will...someday.

Jonathan S.

Yelp
Friendly folks, GREAT food. Tofu rice bowl spicy and well seasoned. Pulled pork was flavorful. BIG portions. Perfect venue at York. Paired with a fabulous Negroni.
google avatar

Aaron U.

Yelp
By far and away the best BBQ I've had in a "non bbq" state, and up there with some of the best bbq you'll find in the U.S. bbq belt. Simultaneously traditional and creative in all the right respective places. Seriously impressive work, deserving of national recognition.
google avatar

Nik H.

Yelp
Tried this place out recently. The waffle fries were great, but there is a house soy sauce they dump on every bowl. Neither of us liked it, and it never goes away, even when we added in other sauces. The meat was okay. It tastes a little flat, and none of the extras we put on helped. Overall, this seems like the corporatification of a fusion BBQ + Asian bowl restaurant, and they do neither of them good enough to come back for more.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
I have been going to Ricewood for some time now, and it is about time for me to give them some LOVE! Quite honestly, everything we have had there has been a delight to eat!! From the brisket, to the burnt ends, wings, smash burger, pulled pork, and of course their fries...we've enjoyed it all!! Something to remember, smash burgers are Fridays and sometimes Saturday, with the wings coming on Saturdays. The bowls are great, but I am more of a sandwich person! When they say spicy, they mean spicy!! Lastly, I would say the guys who work there are pretty cool dudes. Super friendly guys and they certainly enjoy what they do!! Ricewood is a place I highly recommend, and get there on the early side on Fridays, they can run out of burgers
google avatar

Dennis Y.

Yelp
been going to Ricewood since the year it been open. Ricewood Maple and Ricewood York are tyler same. Both love to make BBQ and it shows. Always have received Friendly and Fast service at Maple. All in all Love Ricewood Maple and will continue to go their when the chance arises!!! highly recommended!!!

Richetta V.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant! I could eat here three days a week but they'd probably be sold out two days!! Get there early they sell out often. That's during the week too!! I have tried all the meats. The thighs are my favorite. I don't like spice and they are still delicious! Darren walked me to the car since I was on crutches! I just told my brother not to speak to me again until he gets there for food!!! I think he thought I was kidding....

Edward V.

Yelp
Super good BBQ, get there early as they can run out of brisket, The sauce on the rice is nice, I like the vinegar but some may not. Sauces are all good. The ribs are some of the best I have ever had and I have had a lot all over the US.
google avatar

Yohana I.

Yelp
Love this new location! It was clean and service was friendly. I ordered pork belly rice and burger loaded fry combo. Everything was excellent. Meat was tender and flavorful. I love the food!

Mick C.

Yelp
First time eating at Ricewood. Ordered the brisket rice bowl and a pork belly rice bowl, the latter with chili crisp added. $15 each and it was plenty of food. The brisket was fork tender - to nit-pick, I found it a little dry - and the pork belly just melt in your mouth. I normally pass on rice when ordering with Indian food but this version, with a soy-vinegar sauce, was delicious. Service was fast and friendlier than at almost any other Ann Arbor restaurant/take-out that I've been to. I'll be back and will add more of the sides to the bowl.

Joan O.

Yelp
The food here never disappoints. The flavors are so amazing the portions are generous. Although it doesn't have much seating, the takeout packaging is always on point.

Joyce P.

Yelp
I stopped into this place not really knowing what to expect food wise. With the name Ricewood, I wasn't sure! I received a friendly greeting when I arrived! I was surprised to see a beef brisket sandwich on the menu. I went ahead and ordered that to go. Let me tell you that was the best brisket sandwich I have ever eaten!! It didn't even need barbecue sauce! The meat was tender with a great Smokey flavor!! It was piled high on a delicious toasted brioche bun! I would highly recommend this place! I wish I lived closer!! Joyce P. Brighton

Kia W.

Yelp
First of all the gentleman who took my order was very nice. I felt very welcomed. I got the brisket sandwich with extra sauce. My food was delicious. I asked for extra sauce. They didn't skimp on the extra sauce and I appreciate it. I'll definitely be back.

Matthew M.

Yelp
First time customer today. The food! Oh my! Literally some of the best brisket I've had anywhere, smoked to perfection. Service was fast, extremely friendly and they go above n beyond to meet your needs. It's just a chill little restaurant not a huge amount of seating but a sufficient amount. They use eco friendly packaging as well which I thought was great. If you're dining here be sure you have a big appetite

Yelp
I placed a catering order for my husband's 60th for brisket. When I went to call in my payment on the day of party at 11:30 AM, I was told they can't fulfill my order due to power being out since Wednesday! The manager then told me I should've received an email. I told him I had not and I feel this deserves a more personable approach like a phone call to be sure I am aware. I did look and found an email that was sent at 8:34 AM the day of my party. I understand it's unfortunate to have no power, but I do think I should have more than six hour notice before guests are arriving to prepare an alternate foods plan. When I finally got to talk to the owner, he was very apologetic, but I think I deserve a little more than an apology. I asked him to tell me what he thought would be a reasonable solution. He then asked me, so so I told him the guests at my party said he should offer my order to me. He said he would not do that and ended the conversation by calling me rude! It's truly sad that this is an acceptable way to treat customers the food at Ricewood is good, but the care of the customer definitely is not .

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Everything on the menu is great. Can't go wrong, but the pork belly bowl with everything on it has a special place in my heart!

Yelp
Tried this place for dinner. Food was really good! The prices were reasonable. And the portion size was more than I could eat in one sitting. I got the brisket bowl. The food tasted fresh this bowl was definitely better than a bowl at chipotle

Yelp
Used to love this place. Been going since food truck and 1st in line was free. Since I don't live that close or would not be able to eat till after work, I wojld sometimes ask if could get a sandwich deconstructed. Gabe, Frank, were always cool. I don't know what happened, but called up to Maple Store, and inquired about meatloaf sammie and dude answering was like nope. Said we are open till 8 so if you want to eat late come get it late. First I work in Ann Arbor but don't live here, so I would need to get while in town. Second these sandwiches are not premade, what is the big deal with putting my meat on the side so my bun does not become paper mache. I'll stick with York location even though I like ya'll burrito, you can keep it.

Yelp
Brisket Rice Bowl was sooooo great! Vinegar is at the bottom of the rice, so mix it well.
