Richard's Super Premium Ice Cream

I finally stopped in and bought some ice cream. I've had their ice cream on a few occasions that someone has gifted it to me. The service is great. It's kinda in the cut off 111th off cottage grove. You have to ring the bell to get in. It small and very clean. I ordered the peach cobbler and the strawberry crunch ice cream. Both fantastic! I tried a few other flavors while there. The sweet potato ice cream was fabulous. Can't wait to get more.

Only go to Richard's if you're ready to have all other ice cream ruined for you because Richard's is so good you won't want other ice cream once you've tried it. Their ice cream feels creamy, fluffy and flavorful in ways that other ice creams don't. Additionally, their staff is always warm and helpful. Whenever I've visited or ordered online, I've received amazing service. Lastly, Richard flavors are a dream. They have things like strawberry shortcake, strawberry shortcake crunch, banana pudding and pineapple vodka. If you're a dessert fan, try Richard's!

This place is super hidden in an industrial area. The entrance looks like an office building and you would only know you've arrived by the small banner hanging up with the menu. To order, you ring a doorbell at the front door and it may take a few minutes for someone to come out. The man helping me was so excited about the ice creams and generous with his time. He said the most popular flavor was the banana pudding and since I am a conformist, I got a scoop. He also mentioned that sweet potato pie and strawberry cheesecakes were hits. His favorites were the creamsicle and rum raisin. This extremely generous scoop has real Nilla wafers in it and was very delicious! All their ice creams are handmade on site. Of note is that there is no seating area nor a trash can nearby.

Excellent homemade ice cream! Staff is customer friendly and engages with their customers to suggest different types of ice cream.

Delicious ice cream made in an industrial area near the Pullman National Monument is definitely pilgrimage worthy! Don't be out off by the industrial nature of this place - the ice cream that comes out of this nondescript building in absolutely delicious and well worth the price. The ice cream here is so unique and delicious. We came from the Beverly/Morgan park area and we will make the trip again! I ate the entire pint of strawberry shortcake on the way home! ‍literally irresistible! Thank goodness we also bought a pint of banana pudding flavor. Leonard was behind the counter and helped us try each innovative flavor. Must visit! I'm already planning our return.

True hidden gem. So many original flavors and the quality is so good! My favorite is the vodka pineapple. Service was excellent and they were very nice and helpful.

OMG!! My husband works near the establishment and during a sugar craving he suggested it to me. I am SO glad he did. We called while trying to navigate delivery and the staff member, Leonard, went above and beyond! He answered all of our random questions regarding flavors and was so awesome that we decided just to go in person and pick the ice cream up ourselves. We arrived and were greeted by him and he continued to be amazing and gave us some sample tastings after learning it was my first time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting this establishment. EVERYTHING I tasted was amazing. My favs include : peach vodka, lemon ice box, tropical surprise, peach cobbler and key lime. The location is located in an industrial area so don't be off put - you are at the correct address. Leonard was AMAZING and three cars pulled up Shortly after us for service. Excellent weekday treat .

Great ice cream and service ! Was a little hesitant because of the area but it all checks out. Employees are super friendly and conversational. My brother & I got shakes and ice cream and was literally back the next day. definitely recommend for a sweet treat!

Heard about this place from the site blackpeople eats and knew I had to try it. Visited Saturday afternoon, to try banana pudding ice cream but ended up buying strawberry cheesecake and peanut butter cookie dough. They are curbside only so we ordered and a nice young man brought it out to the car. 5 minutes in and out. The ice cream was rich, creamy and flavorful. It was definitely better than store purchased ice cream. I will definitely be back to try other flavors.

Yall know I love a black owned business.. Well this hidden gem is Amazing.. The sweet potato ice cream is fye.. Then they have banana pudding & strawbe cheesecake.. Thw popcorn is delicious and the service was excellen.. I highly recommend

Im an Celebrity DJ and is very picky with places i stop by! This has to be the Best ice cream in city! Fast , affordable, family friendly! Not to mention the Italian Ice & Popcorn! No need to sit in line at Garrett's! Richards now sell popcorn! Not to mention their located right across from 5th districts police station, SO ITS SUPER SAFE!

This is served out of the warehouse basically. There is no where to sit down inside, so it is all to go. The banana pudding ice cream was the best I've ever had. It's a little pricey at $12 a quart, they do have some specials to get it down to 10.

Probably the best ice cream I've ever had - so creamy and tasty. Definitely the nicest people you'll ever meet - they'll ply you with half a dozen free samples no matter how much you protest. Worth the drive from wherever.

I went to Richard's for the first time on 14APR21 on the recommendation of my sister. I was greeted by a gentleman named Lenard who was more than hospitable. I was unaware that they offered samples, and Lenard made sure to enlighten me. My date and me sampled a few different ice creams: all of which were spectacular in both texture and taste. He then brought out additional samples that were some of his favorite and some which were commonly bought. I sincerely appreciated his knowledgeability of their selections. Finally, he offered my date and me an opportunity to park near the store where he served us additional samples. Not ONE ice cream was a weak point as they were all top notch. It was truly a pleasure to eat here, and I will absolutely be returning.

Words cannot describe. Came for the soul food. Walked out with a pint of ice cream. Probably the BEST ice cream I've had. If you're anywhere in the city you HAVE to come here. Correction, you HAVE to come here at least once in your life.

Don't sleep on this place. The banana pudding ice cream is off the chain. I will be back this summer trying the different flavors. The location is surprising, but don't let that fool you check out this gem in Pullman.

The customer service was awesome! Once we found the location, the manager (Leonard) and staff assisted us with samples and explanations about each item on the menu. The ice shop is attached to an ice cream factory - black owned establishment. They provided us with samples for key lime pie, sweet potato pie, banana pudding (purchased), apple pecan (purchased), pineapple vodka (purchased), plus popcorn samples of salt & vinegar (purchased) and red hot! This is a hidden gem! I will be here every payday *they sell soul food dinners everyday as well

This place is amazing! It was our first time so we were offered samples! Everything was delicious and the service was superb! The banana pudding sundae was absolutely amazing! Thank you! We will be back from South Bend!

I don't usually write reviews. I came across Richard's after looking on the web for something to eat with my gf and I have never in my life been done soooo good before. It's places like this that make someone want to continue eating meat. My gf and I stopped here on our way back to Indianapolis and we are more than satisfied. If there was a problem in our relationship... we are getting married tomorrow lolbvvs. From the first bite of my double cheese burger to the last bite of her grilled cheese dipped into my chili cheese fries we are in love. We haven't gotten to our ice cream yet but we are more than ready. My only issue was that we didn't get utensils but that didn't stop my fingers from digging into the mound of chili and cheese... lick lick.

OMG!!! This ice cream is the bomb! Hands down some of the best ice cream I've ever tasted! I've tasted the banana pudding ice cream and didn't think anything could be better than that but boy was I wrong. The strawberry cheesecake ice is phenomenal! So freaking creamy and packed with cheesecake pieces, I think I'm in . I can't wait to go back and try more flavors. Do yourself a favor if you're in the area please stop by you won't regret it!!

The BEST ice cream I've ever had. We ordered the banana pudding, It was perfectly balanced with fresh flavors, but isn't overly sweet.

They have a good selection of ice cream, and I really love the creamsicle ice cream , and very courteous service !!!!!

We stopped by Richard's for a quick bite of food and some ice cream. We rang the doorbell and Leonard came out to great us and guided us through ordering online to get a discount (and he could have taken our order if we did not have smart phones). Leonard brought out several samples of the ice cream, and they were all amazing! You have to come try these flavors! My favorites were the Sweet Potato Pie and the Strawberry Cheesecake. I had a chili dog and the chili is so flavorful and yummy! (It's Richard's family recipe!) My husband's double cheeseburger was huge and delicious. We are definitely coming back for more the next time we are nearby! Leonard was so hospitable and friendly. We ate on our picnic blanket on the grass, but hopefully next spring/summer, they will have a patio with some tables to enjoy. =) Thanks for a great meal and the pints that we will enjoy at home!

We came by unannounced (without ordering in advance) and the gentleman working there brought out flavor after flavor just for us to sample. We ended up buying three pints. It was hard to choose, but a family favorite was banana pudding (lemon ice box pie was also to die for). The flavors are rich and the textures creamy. We will definitely come back to try more and enjoy the terrific customer service!

The sweet potato ice cream was great! The banana pudding ice cream was bomb as well. Must TRY!
