12 Best New Bars to Try in San Francisco Right Now

"Rick and Roxy’s is a two-in-one bar that requires a bit of explanation. It’s all themed after the 1970s; Rick is a more easygoing bar, with a decorative rock wall and attached game room where guests can play Skee-Ball. Roxy’s, however, is the more outgoing side, all neon lights and begging to host a dance party. The decor is immersive, as are the drinks, with well-composed cocktails made for vibey moments." - Dianne de Guzman

San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings

"This Marina bar has two rooms: one is Rick’s, a ‘70s-themed cocktail bar with arcade games and lots of seating, and the other is Roxy’s, a nightclub complete with a DJ, light-up floor, and punch bowls served in hollowed-out disco balls. You can chill in a booth and sip on a coconut tequila espresso martini at Rick’s from Wednesday to Sunday, but the dance floor at Roxy’s is only open Friday and Saturday nights." - ricky rodriguez, julia chen 1

First time visiting this spot and have to say, I’m definitely coming back. I’m considering having my next birthday party here. The service, music, drinks and ambiance were outstanding. Our bartender Gino gave outstanding service! Not only did he make great cocktails, he was very attentive. The DJ played disco music which totally went with the bar vibe. Wish he could played more as that side of the bar has the Disco vibe and decor hence why they should have continued playing more disco. music. Either way I’m still satisfied and very impressed with the service from the bouncer, bar manager, bar back and Gino aka the Best & Most friendliest bartender ever! Looking forward to possibly planning my next birthday party there next year!

Step on in, step right up, Woaaah! Rick and Roxy’s steals the show. Disco themed and super cool art, A retro dream with a modern heart. A fried chicken machine? Oh yes, it's real. Tasty mixed drinks? That’s part of the deal. With slushies in season and photo booth snaps, You’ll lose track of time — and maybe your map. 🎯 Throw some darts, play a game, Every corner’s got a vibe and not the same. Dance through glitter in the disco light, Or time-travel to a '70s basement night. It’s funky, it’s fresh, it’s fun and bold, Creative touches in every fold. From video games to groovy beats, It’s party-time get ready to move those feets. You’ll feel safe, you’ll feel seen, You’ll feel like you’re in a dream. Good vibes only — that’s the rule, Rick and Roxy’s? Simply cool!!!! Love this Place !

Super fun time here on Saturday night. Friendly atmosphere and staff allowed our dog to come in and hang out before 9pm. (I called before hand to make sure) and our pup ended up being the star of the bar. Good drinks, too! We will definitely be back next time we are visiting the city.

Google
Bouncers are unprofessional, the bar staff is great. The older bouncer with the go tee beard will kick out people trying to sober up at the water station or being too chatty which is unfortunate. They also appear to be somewhat discriminatory to anyone who is not white but overall the atmosphere is ok past that. The staff is just overall aggressive and unprofessional :/

I hosted a happy hour at Rick’s that bled over into Roxy’s when it opened. Micheal was amazing to work with. He gave a few tables for us reserved, let me get drink tickets so I could limit what I put on my tab, and was very communicative before the event day. The music and atmosphere was eclectic, and the staff/bartenders/security were so kind and went out of their way to be personable and fun with my group. They made it clear gratuity due to the larger group was pre-added (and well deserved), and even made it easy to keep a tab open for me if I wanted to continue at the Roxy’s bar. The entire group loved this bar, and I will definitely be back.

I went to Rick and Roxy’s last weekend with a group of friends and had the most fun. It’s such a cool vibe in there and the bartender, Ben, was so good to me. Will be back for more nights out!

I spent my New Year's Eve 2025 here, and while the vibe was great, there were a few drawbacks. The drinks are a bit pricey (not that great for the price they charge), and they include a 22% gratuity. One major issue was that they don't keep track of how many people they let inside, which led to a literal stampede on the dance floor! If you're planning to have a nice time dancing with friends, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. The venue just isn't organized enough to handle a large crowd. That said, it’s still a solid club/bar overall.

Google
What a cute establishment and having the two bars in one is so fun. I really love the disco side and when they have local DJ’s play. I went and saw DJ bäer a couple weeks back and she was fantastic as well as the atmosphere and drinks

Yelp
I was able to celebrate a monumental engagement event with a friend recently here, and they were quite accommodating! We had our own section reserved for us, and security was diligent about keeping out members that were not part of the party. Our group ordered their disco ball drink, which was pricey but delicious nonetheless. The music/DJ they had for that night was okay, and we left around 12:30AM on a Saturday night when the dance floor was extremely crowded. A fun night to remember, and I'd love to lounge around in their decorative bar area more in the future rather than be on the dance floor during peak hours.

Yelp
Rick and Roxy's is sort of like what I imagined Saturday Night Fever to be like. Minus like the cringy parts. I love the speakeasy in the back feels like a spot fresh out of the Midwest. All it needs is some Malort, an old style, and someone to be fixing up a casserole. It only gets 4 stars because damn that dance floor is stickier than the basement of my frat house. I'll tip in Fabuloso if that means they will actually clean the damn floor

Yelp
I adore Rick and Roxy's. I come here on a girls night out probably once every two months and we always have a blast. The Photo Booth is a big hit, and after we chat with our friendly bartenders and have some drinks, we head to the second room for dancing! I love how they have a live DJs and fun lighting in the back room. The whole floor is a dance floor so there is plenty of space!

Yelp
What a fun place! Roxy's (formerly Del Mar) is the dance club with super fun holograms on the dance floor. The music is loud but it's fun & energetic. The Rick's side is a chill bar with great drinks. If you want to have a conversation with someone, you should probably stay on the Rick's side. I sat at the bar & had a Flower Power cocktail which was flavorful & powerful. Awesome service from the bartenders here!

Yelp
My friends and I had a private VIP event at Roxy's side and the process was so easy and smooth. Michael (the owner) was so helpful and informative before the event. And during the event he was even more amazing. Him and his staff kept our guests satisfied and safe. Our bartenders were amazing and fun. A lot of praise from our guests with the service provided and the professionalism with everything. We had about 65 people in the VIP area, and not once did it feel crowded like the dance floor was. The drinks were delicious and too strong (not complaining) I just wish they had food on the Roxy side and then maybe I would give this place a 6/5 stars. Overall, the birthday girl was happy, our guest were happy, and the vibes were immaculate.

Yelp
Rick and Roxy's Disco Bar is a destination for anyone looking to dance and have fun. The atmosphere is electric, with great music spanning from mashups to today's hits. The bar offers a solid selection of cocktails, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Whether you're there to hit the dance floor or enjoy the relaxed vibes on the Rick's side, it's a fantastic spot for a night out. Mike accommodated our party to a tee. Everything was just as we asked!

Yelp
Rick and Roxy's is a new bar that just opened last weekend in the Marina! Even during the soft opening, the place was PACKED so be prepared! It's a beautiful 2-room bar. I loved the concept and enjoyed the drinks! [Rick's] A laidback area with seating, small games, and a bar. The service was pretty quick and the drinks were pretty good but unfortunately I wouldn't say they were anything novel. We ordered the espresso martini (3/5), the clarified milk punch (4.5/5), and the purple disco (4/5)! [Roxy's] A super modern-looking and lively disco floor! I liked this half of the bar A LOT more-- it comes with a bar, DJ, cool lights, and a photo booth! The photo strips are $5 for two copies. Super cute memory. :) Also the bouncers outside the bar were the nicest bouncers I have ever encountered in the history of ever. Major props to whoever hired them because usually bouncers are a bunch of meanies!!! :(

Yelp
Gone are the Hi Ball and Del mar and welcome the next bar from Maximum Productions......Rick and Roxy's is not just a remodel but an expansion! There is Rock's 70's Lounge on one side complete with Skee-Ball and Juke Box where you can chill and listen tonBoston and Foreigner and on the old Del Mar side is Roxy's Disco where you can practice your dance moves to Donna Summer and the Bee Gees. This reviewer did venture over to the disco sound but loved the architecture of the lounge which felt very homey. Drinks were great. My Favorite was the "Outta Sight" which I would have to say was "DY NO MITE". Enjoy!!

Yelp
Finally!! A pickletini! I've been searching far and wide for someone to have one of these on their menu and it does not disappoint Rick and Roxy's is such a fun night out. Great music, games, photo booths , and such cool aesthetic! Top bar in SF

Yelp
Just visited Rick & Roxy's this past weekend and I'm already looking forward to returning! My group of friends and I were there early on a Friday night. The person checking our IDs was super friendly and made sure we were stamped so we had in-and-out privileges once the dance floor opened and they started charging cover. Rick's side of the bar feels like you're in a spacious 80s-era basement, except this basement has Skee-Ball, huge Jenga, darts, and gigantic Connect 4. There are several TVs, which were all showing live sports. Walk through the black velvet curtain, and you're at Roxy's, which is themed more closely to a 70s disco. There's a cage you can dance in, a photobooth, a light-up floor, a bar, and DJ booth! On this night the DJ was playing electronic music (my jam!) but if that isn't your thing, you can request songs from the jukebox on Rick's side!

Yelp
New retro themed bar + dance floor in marina! It's really clean and cute inside, with retro decor and games like skee ball, darts, etc. I had the Hey Sunshine drink which had freshly squeezed orange juice and it was so delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't too loud or crowded at the bar area on a Friday early evening, but there's an adjacent lively dance floor in the next room that plays fun music with a live DJ, another bar, and disco themed decor! There was also a paid coat check window, which is great for if you need to shed some layers for the dance floor. I appreciated how the two were separated by a door so you could dance or chill if you wanted a break. Would love to return and try more of their cocktail menu!

Yelp
Impressed with the new look and vibes, it's fairly a small place so I the dance floor can get crowded. I had the Flower Power cocktail and it was delicious but I thought it was a very small drink for $15. The service was kind. This is a spot I'd prefer to come to early in the night and not end up at cuz I know it'll be poppin and crowded and Im not here for the young and rowdy.

Yelp
Rick and Roxy's 70s speakeasy was the perfect spot for my birthday celebration! The retro vibes and surprise secret disco room made the night unforgettable. The drinks were delicious and kept the group going all night. A fun, unique experience with great music and atmosphere! I felt very safe here!

Yelp
We hosted our work holiday party at the Rick side of the bar and it couldn't have went more smoothly! Michael really took care of us and was accommodating to our requests! The drinks he mixed were bomb! (I particularly loved The Godfather which is their take on an Old Fashioned). The whole bar has this 70s dive bar vibe in a good way with tons of games (skeeball, darts, Jenga, etc). If you ever need to host an event or party please don't hesitate to hit them up!

JT B.

Yelp
Too bright but very fun and cool place. Very original and total throwback to the 70s with great style and fun games. A really original place and totally worth a visit! So long as they learn to dim the lights

Yelp
Very unprofessional staff and ownership. Came here as a member of an event party. Bartender charged me under someone else's tab which was plenty more than I ordered. I ordered one drink. Took an hour to get this issue resolved as the so called "owner" was hesitant to issue a refund and wanted to resolve the issue "some other day". While respectfully explaining myself and how his bartender made a mistake, the owner told me to "shut the f*** up" and "get out of his face". Will not be coming back and do not recommend this place unless you feel like being disrespected. 0 stars.

Yelp
By far the newest, fun, hip place to be during a bar crawl. As an experienced bar patron over the years, this spot offers both a fun lounge experience, along with a dynamic and energetic night club disco feeling. Can't say enough about the staff. Michael and Ben make up great cocktails, assuring you're having a great time. My credit to those designing the layout and details to make this a unique club experience. But will they produce an aluminum tree with 70's color wheel for the holidays???

Yelp
Our first time here was pretty lit ! SUPER CUTE , Not my type of music but i had a great time . Be prepared to take pics all night Ladies!

Yelp
Fun spot! Lots of fun. Great concept. Will be coming back. Enjoyed my time. Fun decor.

Yelp
Just the coolest spot. 2 halves, but my vote's for the disco half. Still fun to be able to switch up the vibe halfway through the night. The owner Michael is also awesome.

Yelp
Not sure about this place yet.. may have to do another visit. But from experience, I give it a 2/5. It was way too packed. The bartenders only paid attention to some people. One thing that really stood out to me was the ambiance. The crowd that this place attracts is just wild. I've never witness a crowd so rude towards one another. People constantly shoving people every where. My friend got her wallet stolen. The vibes just aren't safe. Like I said, I just don't know if I'd ever come back here for the ambiance. I'd rather go to a place where I feel comfortable and safe.

Yelp
Stop here because my partner and I stumbled upon this place and it turned out to be incredibly cool! The bartender/owner, Mike, was incredibly friendly and we ended up chatting with him for a few hours. The space itself is so rad and the attention to detail is impeccable. Mike showed us the disco nightclub, which really transports you back to the 80s. They did an amazing job. The drinks were delicious, and the non-alcoholic cocktails were particularly tasty. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
I came to this bar last night and it was fun and the bartenders were amazing super friendly and they make amazing drinks. Will be coming back for sure .

Yelp
This place is new but boy does it have character. Amazing service! Delicious drinks, great music! What else can you ask for babe!

Yelp
Went on a Wednesday night a little before 7. My partner and I were the only people in there but it was pretty fun to have a private bar all to ourselves. The bartender was amazing! He made our whole night. Super nice guy and makes a great cocktail. I know this is a new spot and gets packed on the weekends but it's really slept on for some after work drinks and fun oversized games like giant jenga and connect four

Alexis D.

Yelp
Amazing DJ and big area for dancing. It's great because one side is more traditional talk and drink. And if you want to dance you go thru a curtain and there's dancing, DJ & disco ball. Best of both worlds!

Carl S.

Yelp
Michael took amazing care of us. The atmosphere was something straight out of the 70s. Just moved here from another state, and glad to have found such a solid bar in a prime location.

Roxy B.

Yelp
Immaculate venue but the DJ wouldn't stop playing Taylor Swift on a Saturday night. More disco and bass please, please stop gentrifying San Francisco.

Nicholas K.

Yelp
Bar is the most fun new dance bar I've been too in the marina. Ben is the really the best and most welcoming bartender I've experienced in this part of the city. I don't know a better bar to end the night on any weekend in San Francisco.

John M.

Yelp
Unlike any spot I've been to in the Marina! The dance floor is incredible and DJs keep the energy going all night!
