Some women impulse buy shoes. I buy meat. Invariably, it winds up in the back of our freezer until I get inspired to do something with it. So it was with the Peppered-Bacon we bought from here a couple months ago, which I recently unearthed:
Thick-cut, chewy, and smoky, with a peppery kick, this is bacon that demands to be savored. Cherished even. We did exactly that, serving it alongside my latest brunch recipe crush, a kale-kimchi omelette.
I was less enamored with the Ground Pork from here. While definitely more flavorful than the sad, overly lean Whole Foods or Fairway stuff I usually buy, I was looking for fatty and unctuous. (Alas, I think I will need to explore Chinatown for that).
That being said, this little shop offers friendly, personal service and samples of whatever charcuterie that may catch your eye. If I lived nearby, I'd be here all the time. Who needs shoes?
