"The first Rilling’s Bakery location opened in 1936 in Philadelphia and the baked goods shop has continued to be a family business since that time. Although the location has changed through the years, the traditions and tried-and-true bakery product offerings continue on at the current location. Seasonal breads, pies, cakes, and cookies along with sweet breakfast treats of Danish and doughnuts make this suburban bakery one to visit." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Google
A beautiful cake for a baby shower only to be outdone by the delicious taste. A chocolate chip pound with butter cream frosting. The best pound cake flavor in Bucks County. Thank you Diane for your help and advice in selecting the cake.

Rilling's is the best bakery. Reasonable prices, great baked goods. And the best pound cake in town. Just recently bought my mom's cake there for her 70th surprise party. It's her favorite Bakery. Her favorite Pound cake. Everyone at the party loved it, and asked for the phone number. Can not go wrong with Rilling's. I got these really cute (and delicious) cookies too ! Trying to upload the pictures, I'm not very tech savvy lol

Google
Great bakery. The pound cake and buttercream icing are delicious. Been coming here since I was a child. The cakes are decorated so beautifully. My guests are always asking for a second piece and some to take home!

Google
Cannot say thank you enough for the wonderful cake for my son’s 21st birthday! Terry went above and beyond to make sure it looked perfect and it was sooo delicious. Very happy customer!! 100% recommend Rillings Bakery!

Google
So sad to see this local treasure close up. Stopped in for the last time today to grab a pound cake. All of the girls were working hard to keep up with the demand of the local customers coming in to buy stuff and say their goodbyes. Always a pleasure dealing with the polite staff. We’ve enjoyed many years of desserts and elegantly made custom cakes. Never a bad experience here. This Bakery will be missed.

Went after seeing their big moment on FOX29 this morning. Decided to try them out. They practically had nothing left. None of the staff greeted me when I walked(all the friendliness was just for the cameras). All they had were cream donuts and cupcakes. Donut was okay, a little dry. Cupcake was so-so. That's the only time they will get my money. I see that they are closing. Good riddance.

Google
THE BEST Bakery! I've had Rillings my entire life and no bakery will ever compare. When we moved from Philadelphia we were lucky that there was one in Warminster. Real family recipes, with quality ingredients and competitively priced. The owner may be selling so hurry up and try them 💔

Google
Best bakery around!!!!! The goods here have graced our home since before our children were born! My mom always loved your butter cake!!!!!! From cakes to pastries to donuts to cookies - ohhhhhh the sugar cookies are the best and my son just loves the chocolate chip cookies- everything is just perfect and delicious! Just walking into the bakery puts a smile on your face! I have a list of what I need to order from my kids before the store closes! The triangle chocolate cake, the chocolate chip cake, more donuts, chocolate chip cookies….I guess I will just buy everything! lol Diane and Michael are the best and you will truly be missed!!!!! We wish you happiness and health in your retirement!!! 😊🎂

Yelp
I ordered a cake here for my sisters bridal shower. The people at the bakery were really easy to work with and were super nice on the phone when ordering. They were willing to customize a cake I saw on their website to my sister's wedding colors as well. we ordered a pound cake with vanilla buttercream icing and a bunch of the guests at the shower were raving about it. Also tried some of their cookies, which were great as well. Not too sweet but just right. I'd recommend ordering for an event or just your local bakery needs.

Yelp
This is a great local old school bakery. I used to come here when my daughter was young and she loved the cupcakes and I loved the doughnuts! This visit we tried the chocolate cake and the carrot cake. The chocolate cake was really good while the carrot cake missed the mark. I won't recommend the carrot cake as it had a butter cream icing ,while it was good it wasn't a cream cheese icing like I like and expected. There are so many other options to choose from here that you will be happy. The pound cake looks good and I would like to try it sometime soon. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim while visiting. Lots of attractive cookies, cakes and more, but there were no prices n the shelf, on the products or online (upon review). I did ask a few prices and they seemed quite high to me...$16 for a pound of butter cookies for example. I ended up buying the Chocolate Chip Pound Cake slice (yummy), Apple Strudel slice on sale (tasty to me but 8 y/o granddaughter did not like it), Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Pound Cake slice (haven't had yet), and a Chocolate Covered Pretzel with mini Reese's pieces (all 3 of us loved this one). All 4 items cost $16. Staff was friendly and seemed to be working hard, but not overly friendly. While I understand the majority of a bakery's business is made to order cakes, it would also seem that they would want foot traffic in the storefront. Not posting prices was my biggest complaint.

Yelp
Fabulous cakes and cookies! Also, I love to order personalized cake (cookie) and have the person of the nights name written on it. Delicious and special. Have been ordering from Rillings for 40 years!

Yelp
Average over-priced doughnuts and other unremarkable bakery fare. Even the reduced price sale items are pricey. Haegele's in NE Philly is still my favorite local bakery. Located in a strip mall with no real competition in the immediate area.

Yelp
I have been to some really stellar bakeries lately, which have upped the bar for me. Rilling's deserved 3.5 stars, but customer service made me round down in my final rating. The staff was friendly, but the young ladies there could not answer any of my questions about, frankly, anything. Could not explain what flavor this or that was, could not tell me what was inside the choco coated mini cakes, could not name the different flavors of pound cake they offer, etc. It was disappointing because I doubt the owners would appreciate this ambassadorship for their well-established business. What ensued, was a sampling of various items, due to the lack of info. Since it was all such a mystery, we bought more stuff, but we weren't matched-up with our cravings. I ended up having a bite of this and that, but food memories weren't made. I will say the confections are all made with love and care, and I did not get any saccharine aftertaste from anything, which shows they use quality ingredients. Everything is attractive and well-presented. It's more of a standard basics bakery. They're not doing culinarily daring things here, nor creating show stopping edible atwork. But we're not always in the mood for that kind of stuff anyway. Sometimes you just want a plain old cookie or piece of cake, which is a solid creation by way of flavor, texture, and ingredients. They have that down.

Yelp
We had our wedding cake made here, it was absolutely perfect! We went with a non traditional white cake, since we were getting married in the fall. They were more than happy to add my velvet fall leaves instead of flowers to my cake. Every year since, it was been a tradition that we order a small replica of our wedding cake, for our anniversary. Who wants to eat stale cake anyway?!? They are always so warm & inviting anytime you call to place an order, or when you walk into the store. The have plenty of pastries from cookies, fruit tarts, carrot cakes, pies, cupcakes to name a few. If you have not tried their cakes, I recommend stopping in one day for a treat. You won't be sorry!

Yelp
Whenever I have a sweet tooth I try to divert it, but when I just can't I choose Rilling's. I haven't placed any large orders for holidays or anything, but we do go on a semi regular basis for their various other baked goods. They have a great selection of items you can just peruse the cases and pick something but it's hard to just choose one item. Their pricing seems to be fair especially during a pandemic. Their items are always fresh, nice and soft. All the employees that I have encountered over my visits have been pleasant and helpful. On our most recent visit my daughter chose a beautifully decorated cookie with a dinosaur on it, and I chose a slice of vanilla cake and a cup of coffee. I also requested some extra icing because go big or go home. It was only a few extra cents and well worth it. I will continue with my patronage!

Doreen L.

Yelp
The baked goods are always delicious and the staff is very helpful and nice. Everyone at work loves when i bring Rillings donuts and pastries for a treat.

Yelp
Rilling's has been our go to bakery since I was a little kid , and even before that, one my parents had frequented. Not just because they have lasted, unlike many others that have failed, but because they truly are a delicious bakery. A highlight I always had as a kid was going with my mom or dad to pick up a cake or other dessert and sampling some of their butter cookies from the jars, I'd stand up on my tiptoes until Dad pulled the jar down to let me pick one. So maybe I'm a bit sentimental but I'm constantly pleased. Cakes, donuts, cookies, cannolis, brownies or other pastries, always phenomenal. Recently we got two birthday cakes here - 1 a fudge iced pound cake and 2- a vanilla cake with buttercream icing, both superb. My family always loves the cannoli cake - omg to die for- and no other places who makes it can beat it. Today I tried the brownies and they were super moist, packed full of chips and had a great fudge icing (They make a really Good fudge icing). They're usually well stocked and super helpful, custom orders are always spot on- including my zebra striped sweet 16 cake! I will continue to go to this bakery and hopefully can bring my children!

Yelp
i went in the bakery the other day it was horrible it smelled musty there was hardly and items . What they did have was so over priced and looked like it cane from a food store , HORRIBLE

Shana P.

Yelp
Ordered a strawberry shortcake for my birthday. It was one of the best I ever had! We had to pick up the night before due to hours of operation, I was a little skeptical of it being soggy but it was absolutely perfect

Yelp
In connection with a social gathering at our home, we recently had a butter cookie taste test and Rilling's tied for first place. The competition included also butter cookies from Feasterville Family Bakery, Leonardo's, Desserts by Design, Swiss Haus Bakery. Chosen as for the test was the flower-shaped butter cookie with the chocolate center, which all of the bakeries offer. First place honors went to Rilling's for its cookie's relatively soft crumb and clear butter flavor. Our quibble was that the center dollop of chocolate was a bit sweet and hard, but overall it was a good cookie. The other first place winner was Feasterville, whose cookie is very delicate and nearly disintegrates on the tongue (like any great shortbread). On the downside, one has to carefully transport Feasterville's cookies because they easily crumble in transit. Again, the chocolate center was a bit sweet and hard. Both Rilling's and Feasterville could elevate these cookies to epic status by replacing the chocolate frosting with a bittersweet ganache. Second place went to Swiss Haus Bakery, whose butter cookies are a perennial household favorite. The Swiss Haus version is much firmer than either than Rilling's or Feasterville's and it is less sweet. To its credit, the Swiss Haus cookie's chocolate center is neither as sweet nor as hard as the first place bakeries' versions. Swiss Haus's cookies are sufficiently hearty to transport with little breakage. Desserts by Design had a credible entry, which earned them third place. The cookie had a delicate crumb but lacked any butter flavor. Where these cookies failed was an unattractive milk-chocolate-looking center that was not a consistent color throughout and was irregularly shaped. It also was far too sweet and hard. Much to our chagrin, Leonardo's version ended up in fourth place. While Leonardo's makes exquisite rustic breads and phenomenal cannoli, its butter cookies are just too hard and lack any butter flavor.

Yelp
Ouch. Pretty disappointed. I was super excited to find this place by accident. Had a cupcake: dense, slightly stale tasting, overbearing sweetness and unpleasant texture. Blueberry muffin: dense, little flavor, almost no blueberries! I could bake circles around these guys myself! Even weirder: the wedding cakes for pickup are just sitting in the middle of the store uncovered. Not exactly sanitary. Overall weird vibe. You can do better!

Yelp
So angry - drove an hour last week to order a cake for our anniversary. We had a chocolate chip pound cake with buttercream icing 15 years ago for our wedding. Since there are only two of us to eat the cake now I ordered a Loaf cake to be prepared the same way after discussing with the clerk in person last week The cake was not what I ordered when again I drove a long way to pick up the cake & the people who were brought out from the back were rude to me & made a rude comment when I told them I did not want the wrong cake or the cake they took out of the case which the said they could not write on. This is the third time I've had a problem so 3 strikes & they're out. The owner was sitting in the store & did nothing to rectify the situation. Regretful

Rose R.

Yelp
I went to Rilling's Bakery Saturday morning the Day before Mother's Day to pick up a Mother's Day cake and the cake was stale and burnt edges it was disgusting . NEVER AGAIN. SAVE YOUR MONEY. NOT WORTH IT.

Sunni K.

Yelp
My wife intoduced me to Rilling's back in 1981. They had their franmford ave & tomlinson road locations. Their offerings were always 1st rate. The mocha layer cake was our wedding cake. But times change as do economics, they downsized & moved here. We drive a distance to get their goodness. In fact when a co-worker was transfered i was assigned to get the cake & the mocha cake was the choice. They were so nice to put on it "adios m-f#cker" on it without any questions (no it wasn't spelled out on the cake) The cake was a hit on many levels & Rillings is still great all these years later no matter where they are.

Yelp
I love walking into Rilling's! It's filled with cupcakes, cookies and cakes to choose from. We get cakes from them for birthdays, but my absolute favorite is their fruit tart, which I get entirely for myself. It's an old school bakery with charm. The employees are so helpful and friendly. Great family run business, which I love to support!

David W.

Yelp
Best in the area... I've been enjoying Rilling's for 37 years.

Cheechee S.

Yelp
Visited this bakery for the first time today my mother in law raves about it and it was so worth the drive they have great cookies and cupcakes and the almond pound cake is to die for.

Mims M.

Yelp
There's a reason why a small business in a small town lasts 50 years. It's about quality goods and exceptional customer service. Real butter, lots of it, and lots of love and skill go into every bread, doughnut, cake, Danish pastry, pie, tart, & cookie. I'm in my 50s, and everything tastes the same as it ever did: perfect.

Yelp
We used Rillings bakery for our wedding cake in July 2016. We had chocolate chip pound cake with buttercream frosting- the cake was out of this world! It was so delicious and we had plenty leftover to enjoy the following days as well. Besides the flavor, the cake was absolutely beautiful! The buttercream frosting was so smooth that guests were asking if it was fondant! Rillings captured the simple, elegant design beautifully. I love that Rillings makes the traditional pound cake wedding cake, while other bakers limit you to box-like cake. When we did our tasting we got to try 7 flavors, plus some bonus and we met with the owner herself. Our cake came to a portion of the cost of other places- it was a great value and they delivered it for us on a holiday weekend a good distance from the bakery. We couldn't be happier with our cake or service!

Jl R.

Yelp
Rillings was a family favorite for many years. Last 2 Birthday cakes were terrible. Ordered a pound cake 4 days in advance, cake was extremely dry ,chocolate buttercream icing seemed very greasy and tasteless. Time to find a new bakery.

Colleen R.

Yelp
We used Rillings Bakery for our wedding cake and we could not have been happier! They were so easy to work with, and when we went in for our tasting we were able to try a wide variety of flavors and they were all so delicious (I love the almond mixed with the raspberry with the buttercream frosting). Diane was such a huge help, she was so friendly and was able to make recommendations like how much cake we needed (we had no idea) and was so friendly! When we arrived on the day of the wedding I was blown away at how beautifully designed the cake was. I highly recommend Rillings, you will not be disappointed!

Dana B.

Yelp
Rilling's cakes are the BEST in the area. 'nuff said.

Kathy O.

Yelp
Absolutely the best cake we ever had! We had the chocolate chip cake for my 50th birthday party and people were coming up for seconds and it was gone!!! How many times have you had a cake where adults ask for seconds. Their cakes are moist and just spectacular in flavor!

Jacqueline E.

Yelp
Rillings Bakery is hiring again, it doesn't seem as though they can keep employees. I worked there for one week and left, the owners hired me at one rate and payed me another much lower rate. I called and they said I didn't sign a contract when I was hired so they paid me minimum wage. The owners of Rillings Bakery are very unfair and want alot out of their employees but don't pay. They are a disgrace and anyone who applies for a job at this bakery please think twice.

Carl V.

Yelp
Great authentic bakery products made from scratch. The best around.

Nancy B.

Yelp
Ordered a raspberry almond cake for my sister's 40th Anniversary party. It was wonderful. Very moist, great flavor and the butter cream icing was just right, not sickening sweet like some. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, especially since I called twice, once to change the design detail and the second to request that it be delivered. I was very happy with how the cake was decorated for the occasion and received great feedback from the guest. Thank you Rillings! I will use you again and also recommend you to friends.

Marv L.

Yelp
Stopped in for a butter cake for the family and we were all very disappointed. The top had a good shell and the rest was almost all dough. There was no good gooey butter. Next time, another bakery.

Mike K.

Yelp
Rilling's became our baker for the wedding due to an unfortunate event but they were able to accommodate us immensely as we scrambled (a little) to figure out what we would do for our wedding cake. We met with Diane for a tasting and consultation three months prior to the wedding and she already had all of our information that was provided to the previous baker. This was very helpful as we were set on the style cake we had already chosen. The cake we tried was delicious and we chose the chocolate chip pound cake and the raspberry swirl pound cake. We had a larger cake topper which was no problem for them and they made sure that we would have enough cake for all of our guests. They delivered the cake to the venue without any need for communication with us and we first saw the cake at the reception. The cake was beautiful and had everything we asked for. Working with Rilling's was so easy and they were so accommodating after we came to them that close to the wedding. If I was in need for a cake for an event, I wouldn't go anywhere but Rilling's.

Janet D.

Yelp
The best chocolate cake ever!! Very friendly helpful staff! Everything is delicious . Love this place!!

Gary R.

Yelp
The best birthday cakes ever. A patient of mine recommended this place & while it is is a hike from Wayne, PA, it was well worth it. Cinnamon buns are also great. I'll be back. No more cakes from the grocery store.

Tara B.

Yelp
Rillings made an amazing cake for my daughter's 1st Birthday! It was 3 tiers with Mickey Mouse on the top tier. It was decorated beautifully and tasted delicious! Their pound cake is just incredible! I would highly recommend their cakes for any party!

Jarrod O.

Yelp
My fiance and I were looking for a wedding cake and did a tasting at Rilling's. All of the cakes we tried were delicious (especially the raspberry almond) and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

Ryan V.

Yelp
I used to live in the area and would go here all the time for birthday cakes and the not so occasional treat. When my wife and I got married, we made sure to get our wedding cake from Rilling's (consisting of 3 types of pound cake: chocolate chip, almond, and plain). My favorites have always been the pound cake and petits fours - easily the best I've ever had. Everything else I've ever tried at Rilling's has been good as well, so you really can't go wrong. Now that I live in San Francisco, I always make sure to stop by whenever I'm back in town visiting family, and Rilling's never disappoints.

Ron C.

Yelp
FANTASTIC OLD-SCHOOL BAKERY! I found Rilling's while traveling through the area for business. I live about 40 minutes away and I always stop in when I'm within 10 miles of the place. This is a traditional style bakery. The kind I remember from when I was a kid living in Philly. Where I live now out in the suburbs there are very few of these types of bakeries left. Everyone wants to be a "gourmet cakery" with ace-of-cakes style B.S. where the cake has to look like a sculpture, but generally tastes like crap. What happened to producing a loaf of good old moist and delicious pound cake with traditional butter cream? How about fruit danishes for Saturday morning? Fabulous cream-filled donuts? That's what Rilling's is all about.

Brynn M.

Yelp
They made my wedding cake, it was gorgeous and so good! So good in fact that we didn't have any left overs!! Raspberry and Lemon Pound cake are the best!
