The restaurant is relatively unassuming. Inside, there is an old Cuba feel. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. There is a nice acknowledgement of birthdays and anniversaries. I absolutely loved the experience. We will be back.

Absolutely love this place! Such a great atmosphere, they’ve got options for seafood, chicken and red meat. Nice music, very friendly staff and delicious food. We had the fried grouper and it comes with 2 sides of our choice. The codfish fritters are a MUST buy!

Had the 1/2 Pollo Frito and it was delicious. Accidentally spilled my mojito before I could get a 2nd sip, and they gladly replaced it. Sat outside because I wanted to enjoy the weather. Love the setup they have out here. Highly recommend.

I have been looking to go here for a long time and finally did last night. Well beyond expectations. Esther was amazing making recommendations and had awesome energy and aura. All of our meals were fantastic with drinks to match. Dessert unbelievable. Between the service from Esther and her staff to the drinks from Darlene 5 stars is not high enough. They hit on every level. I will be going back with family, friends and coworkers and should be a blast for happy hour.

What an awesome place! Went there for a surprise birthday party for a good friend of mine and boy did I enjoy myself. The staff was super friendly, even though my kids were annoying everybody. I danced with the waiter, enjoyed great food, they provided great music and a great environment. First time at a Cuban restaurant and I would definitely go back for dinner in the future.

Was introduced to this restaurant when it was in Queens, loved it. When I heard they relocated to Huntington was very happy. Consistency has always been the same from the time you walk in to the time you walk out. Just on customer service alone as soon as we walked in and the owner greeted us and recommended the frozen lemonade for my son, he said dad this place is great. Food was on point. Definitely recommend.

This was my first visit to Rincon Criollo, a restaurant that had been on my list of places I wanted to try for some time. Nestled on the busy street of Jericho Turnpike, the restaurant offers convenient parking in the back. One of the highlights is their outdoor patio area, which is quite airy and perfect for enjoying a meal in a pleasant setting. From what I read, Rincon Criollo is renowned for its vibrant ambiance, excellent service, and tasty Cuban cuisine. While I personally find beans and rice to be good, they are not my favorite part of a meal since they tend to be a large component of most dishes. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my broiled chicken breast in garlic, very flavorful. However, I must admit that my digestive system is not what it used to be, so I could not indulge as much as I might have liked. What truly stood out during my visit was the service; it was exceptional, over the top in friendliness and attentiveness. Overall, the combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a lively yet relaxing ambiance made for a memorable dining experience.

We decided to go on a Saturday night with very little notice and they were able to accommodate our party of six -a sure win to start. We waited for about five minutes in the bar area and were seated promptly with a great table and the waitress came immediately to offer us drinks for the kids and for the adults as well. We tried almost everything on the menu for the adults and they had some great options for the kids to eat, and while we were never rushed, there were plenty of celebrations for birthdays going on around us, and we were able to sing and enjoy other people's special day. The service was fantastic and the food was also incredible. We ate appetizers and just about anything else you can think of on the menu and it all tasted authentic and true to its form. We had seen this reviewed many times and this was our first trip, but it certainly won't be our last. We look forward to coming in and having the great ambience of being in a new world and a rustic feel. Parking is fairly simple in the back because as you come in through the alley, there are perhaps two dozen parking spots, and the entrance was decorated nicely for the holidays with lights in the trees, and a nice warm entrance.

Such a great experience always. Food wise it is always superb and the flavors are all there. The ambiance is warm and inviting. You must celebrate a birthday here too! I have to say the Chuletas Ahumadas are always a HIT. Service was decent- I would've preferred a different server. Otherwise will come back for more!

¡Excelente! I've been three times thus far, as part of a weekly networking group in the "America-Americans First" arena, and was truly impressed by its PHENOMENAL customer service overall. I'm from New York City, so that's YUGE for me. Each staff member with whom I've connected -- from the owners, Rudy and Esther, to the servers, namely Darlyn and José -- is genuine and warm. If you're a seafood fan as I am, I suggest both the breaded shrimp and shrimp scampi dishes. As a side, the maduros (fried sweet plantains) are my absolute favorite! I've rarely written reviews about restaurants anywhere, let alone on Long Island -- but Rincon Criollo has impressed me through and through, so I'm glad to share its goodness with you!

I used to visit the one in Queens - Junction Blvd for years. This is my second time to this location. Food is always delicious Sadly my only complaint is the flan (I forgot to take a pic) The flan is not the best but it's ok Staff is friendly The restaurant is clean and decorated to Cuban decor Very cute

Love the ambiance and hospitality at this location, although my heart is still with the Corona location. They definitely had a slight edge. However this location is bigger than the Corona location. Food and service was outstanding. Had the ropa vieja with arroz blanco y tostones. It was so delicious and the tostones were so fresh but it is a small portion. If you get the tostones, definitely ask for the mojo de ajo (garlic sauce)!! Both drinks of spiked iron beer and Miami hurricane were pretty tasty. Love the family vibe. Will definitely be back

So happy we ordered from Rincon Criollo, I missed the delicious food! I would order from the Queens location for years so when it closed I was very sad. This spot is close to my sister's home so I will be here often! Food is just as delicious here. Loved the outside sitting area. Staff was very nice as well.

YUM!! Delicious food! Fabulous ambience. Really nice staff- very accommodating. Best place ever to celebrate your birthday - they do over the top birthday greeting. Roast chicken cooked perfectly - incredibly tender and flavorful. Plenty of parking in the back. Prices quite reasonable.

No other restaurant in Long Island has Cuban food like Rincon, the others are not authentic. The staff is very professional, drinks are delicious, love their tamales, and if I could I would go more often. Go and you will be a happy foodie.

Came here with my family. I have been coming for years but don't really eat out a lot. We ordered the porch chops, one smoked one regular. Both were very good and a good size . Then we had rice black beans and the lectin asado, roast pork. It was delicious and tender, tasty. Comfort food. Green tostones with the garlic sauce were a nice appetizer. Topped it off with cafe con leche, delicious . Service was very good, water glass always full and attentive waiter. Nice cozy dining room.

We were greeted immediately and seated within minutes. Our drinks came cold and frosty. Our server took our orders and gave us some suggestions. We ordered a few different appetizers that were great. The yucca were crispy as were the chorizo, and croquettes. Our main meals came out hot with more than generous sides. The breaded palomilla steak was crispy and huge. The chicken was well seasoned, the pork chunks crispy and plentiful. We loved the morro and black beans - amazing. We would have preferred more dipping sauces, but they were described perfectly and did have a hint of heat, which was a bit too strong for some of us but perfectly hot for the others. Portions were so much we ended up taking most home. Next time we will get less apps despite being crowded, service flowed. We would recommend reservations.

I've been here MANY times over the years and even visited their Queens location once. I *love* the food here. The flavors remind me of the food I grew up eating. I don't get it very often since I moved from New York to California. Now that I am a vegetarian, I am grateful that there are still things that I can order here so that I can have the comfort and experience the memories that this delicious food brings. I usually get the white rice, black beans, platanos, yucca, and avocado salad. It's more than enough for me, and I am able to take some food home for later. The flavors are always on point and the food is consistently cooked well. I really love that they use recyclable paper and aluminum containers since I recently stopped visiting restaurants that only use plastic to go containers. They also make yummy cocktails here, I've seen other tables order these, though I've only tried the margaritas. From time to time, they have events around sports matches and the owner is almost always at the restaurant, making sure that everyone is having a good time and enjoying their food. This is a great little family owned restaurant, and you can tell that the owner and the entire staff take pride in the food and the vibe at this restaurant.

This place never disappoints were the words of my wife. Even my "picky eater" boys were satisfied. We have been going here for years and were frequent eaters at their Jackson Heights location prior to this place opening. The food is as authentically Cuban as you can get without leaving Long Island. The service is super friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is old school NYC restaurant without giving off the feeling that it hasn't been done on purpose. Love this place and the staff. A definite go to.

I was so tired of eating the same food. I wanted a different taste. So we came and tried this place. It's a cute spot. The waitresses were nice. I got ground beef and rice for the kids it doesn't look like much but it is so well seasoned and tasty. The empanadas I was alittle disappointed because they are so small. I also barely tasted the ground beef. It was mostly potatoes. I got steak with peppers and onions. The steak was alittle tough but again I enjoyed the flavor. I did enjoy their rice and beans combo made with bacon that was different. I love plaintains so of course I got two orders and it didn't disappoint. My husband got oxtail stew with white rice and that was very good! I would definitely come back and get the oxtail. I left nice and full. Oh I did enjoy the white sangria as well. That chocolate shot thing they give you at the end idk about lol but overall a good place

This Cuban restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, up and happy . Waiters are pleasant. Their lechón, yucca and morro are truly a hit as well as their caldo gallego soup. Prices are fair. Would definitely recommend.

I read about this place in the newspaper and decided to give it a try. A little background, I am Cuban, raised in Miami by a mom who could absolutely cook like no one' s business. This place was an absolute pleasure to eat at. Even though it was our first time there we were greeted like life long family. The service was unparalleled. Friendly doesn't begin to do it justice. The ham croquet appetizer and frituras de bacalao were insanely delicious. My son had the lechon with moros which were fantastic. The pork was moist and flavorful. The rice equally delicious. My wife ordered the Cuban sandwich which was as good as any I've eve eaten in Miami. My bistec empanizado (breaded steak) was honestly as good as mom used to make. They won me over big time and I will definitely be back. Fantastic experience. Luigi the waiter was an incredible host.

One of my favorite local restaurants. The food is fantastic and better than some of the restaurants I've been to in South Florida. The restaurant is small, but cozy and the perfect spot for a relaxing meal. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. I've eaten in the restaurant and have ordered take-out as well. I recently ordered the grilled chicken with onions with the amazing moros y christianos and the best fried plantains i've ever had. Perfectly sweet, almost like a dessert. The chicken was cooked perfectly, thin cutlets. I only wish they gave me more grilled onions. The rice is sooooo good. I love the chunks of bacon in it. I add a little tobasco sauce and its *chef's kiss*. I definitely want to try the lechon asado one time and maybe the cuban sandwich again (I'm very picky about them lol). Definitely worth a visit.

An absolute pleasure as always. Rincon Criollo never disappoints. The food and service are always superb. We've been going to the Corona Queens location for 25+ years. To the point that my kid's birthday isn't complete till we visit Rincon and they get their favorite song and dance. My kids are six and seven, and have celebrated every year here. It's a much loved tradition. Along with their chicken Chiccharon, chicken and rice (yes it takes a long time, yes its worth it), fried chicken with garlic sauce, and Vaca Frita. Everything is superb. Besides those we also love all the shrimp dishes, the oxtail, the steak with onions, my mom loves the salmon, their oxtails are huge, nd so much more. My husband started tearing up when we found out about the corona location closing. But the hour and a half drive to continue our family tradition was kept alive. The food was delicious as always. The service was as great as always. And they didn't miss a beat with the birthday celebration. We all left with happy hearts and bellies. Keep up the good work guys. We'll be back!

Delicious Cuban food and service! We had the smoked pork chops, boiled yucca, moros, black beans, oxtail, fried grouper, flounder in garlic sauce, and a salad. We also got ham croquettes and the extremes platter (Cuban antipasto) as an app. We cleaned almost everything on our plates due to how good it was, and also had some flan for dessert and churros and tres leches. The drinks were good and nicely spiked, we all liked the hurricane, mojito, and iced tea. Price was not bad for all that we had. Very good and will come back :)

That's my photo of a whole, fried fish topped with raw onions, and I am surprised that I never reviewed Rincon Criollo after that wonderful weekend lunchtime visit. This week we visited on a hectic Saturday night following Thanksgiving. On a Saturday night there are 3 slots, 4-6 and 8 pm, we chose 6 pm. It was a festive and loud evening, with faster movement than I would hope for, so in the future I may stick with lunch or a weeknight in hopes of a calmer meal. Menu is huge, most of the choices are unfamiliar to me and the doting waiter was hustling. Which means we wound up making hasty decisions and wound up with dishes that we were not expecting, but turned out to be fine. The lighting is dim and we are getting old, so a light magically appeared to help decipher the vast menu, abundant with meats. Spanish Sausages were sliced paper thin and sprawled out on a metal dish and grilled to perfection. Thinking we were ordering pork style chicharron, we were surprised when 4 sizzling nubs of chicken appeared and I still have no idea what they were because the menu identifies "Chicken Bits Crispy Fried but I did not see any onions or garlic sauce. If this is what they were, they were fabulous and i will order them again. Smoked pork chops were delicious. The confusion was apparent when 2 of our dishes were not what we thought to have ordered and were not that great, one was the pork filet..nothing that i would ever order, I thought we were having a roast pork special that looked like a roast in photos but what arrived was a pounded paper thin cutlet, too dry for me and a steak grilled, also arrived paper thin, dry and left untouched. Next time we will order better and take our time. The gregarious waiter was really not listening to me, but rather yes, yes ing us. Carafe of red Sangria, complementary kaluah shots with a marachino cherry, some coffee, a very sweet Tres Leche cake and a stunning Happy Birthday song, lights and dance and we were on our way before the 8 pm seating arrived.. looking forward to returning again soon

I enjoyed my first visit to Rincon but instantly regretted not getting the ox tail stew when I saw it on someone else's plate. I was reasonably happy with my Cuban sandwich. I've had better and I've had worse. I guess I have to come back for the ox tail stew. My husband had the Vacca Frita which was packed with flavor. He also said the rice and beans were delicious. I love the decor and you really do feel like you're in a little Cuba. The service was great and they gave us an unexpected lagniappe after our meal of chocolate liqueur and sweetened condensed milk in a shot glass. Our waiter said, "This is how we say thank you." That was a nice surprise. I would absolutely come back and recommend for authentic food and ambience.

Went to Rincon for the first time last night. It was a GREAT experience in every way. Started with a carafe of red sangria which was fresh and delicious and not too sweet. We had grilled Spanish sausage appetizer , then smoked pork chops and the broiled flounder in garlic sauce. Everything was authentic and melt in your mouth amazing. Our waitress was fantastic.. DINORA was so attentive and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. I turned to my husband and said" we are NEVER eating anywhere else in Huntington!"

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Delicious cocktails at a decent price. Food was great with distinct flavors and textures that were pleasing to the eye and palate.

We were originally going to try another Cuban place in Huntington but then got recommended to come here so we gave it a try. We're glad we decided to come and have lunch. We were so full from all the delicious meat and rice and beans. We got the codfish fritters as an appetizer. They didn't have too much of fish flavor - mostly tasted the fried batter but it had a really nice crunch! I got the oxtail stew. The meat was very tender and easy to eat. The only drawback to this dish was that it was extremely salty - you definitely needed to pair it with the rice. The yuca in garlic was really good - had a very strong garlic flavor which paired well with the yuca as that normally doesn't have any flavor especially when boiled. Overall the food was good and I'd come back to try other items on the menu. The only thing that I'd stay away from was the Red Sangria. It did not taste good at all - tasted a bit like watered down rubbing alcohol.

A family run Cuban restaurant and bar. Some family friends took us out for dinner. I wasn't sure what to expect. I've known Cubans and homemade food. Would it be a cuchifrito joint, or an interpretation of Cuban food, or the real thing? It's the real thing. The chorizo appetizer is Spanish chorizo, flavorful and not spicy like Mexican chorizos are. Tried the flounder in garlic sauce. It was the top fillet of the flounder (rounder and thicker, than the bottom fillet). Although it was broiled, it was succulent and flavorful. Not dried out and ruined. Our friends had the oxtail. I've never had oxtail. The name doesn't appeal to me and I thought "how much meat could it have?" I tried a little bit. It was very good! Moist, tender, and bursting with flavor. They said; it's not that easy to make well. This place does it to perfection. Service is very good and the decor pleasant.

After traveling an hour to be tortured by a local talented tattoo artist (with terrific results), I was left sore and hungry. I traversed the local town mall where two team members tireless helped me make a tumultuous return of an impulse buy at Zara. I wanted something better than a chain restaurant like Cheesecake Factory so I called on google. I found Rincon. I drove there and walked to the back where I immediately found a pretty bathroom (needed it) and when done was greeted around the front/side by a nice woman who seated me. I was alone in my "BLOCK HIM" tee shirt dress (I have a wonderful partner, but the sentiment stands) and was seated "dead center" in the middle table. The picnic style cloths reminded me of summer cookouts at hecksher state park and the stretched, thick leather chairs were nicely made and impressively comfy. A young boy came out and gave me the preliminaries. He also brought garlic toast which resembled Texas toast. It was nice because I can't turn down bread but something I would wait to enjoy with my food. The lady asked what I wanted and being a former "menu starer/chronically undecided", I chose the Wednesday/miercoles special which was oxtail. They were more like ox spine. Definitely upper tail. They were thick and juicy and although the tomato sauce was unfamiliar to me (used to a turmeric based or brown sauce), they were very tasty. The meat seemed to fall off the bone. The split pea soup was tasty as well and I wondered if I could make an instant pot version. Although I'm sure it does them a disservice. My only qualm is it was a little warm, but that happens and I'm sure they'd rather not burn people. The rice was buttery and cooked well. It was not over or undercooked. The proportions were also reasonable. I have been working my ass off this past month (May not June) and decided to treat myself, so although I wanted tres leches and basically everything, I decided on coffee, churros and flan. The churros were HOT HOT HOT. I recently watched "somebody feed Phil" (love him) and he had churros with this amazing looking dipping chocolate. His looked thinner. I know this is Cuban, not Mexican cuisine and I've only had churros in the US, so I wasn't pressed. They were hot and tasty with some cream inside. I don't like cream filled things (except cannoli), but these were still nice. Another customer had them when they sang happy birthday to him. The staff and other customers seemed genuinely happy for him which was nice. The man that seemed most enthused about the food and service was a man in maybe his 50s, early 60s who was proudly watching over diners. I assume he was the patriarch/abuelo/owner. He was very kind and impressed when I ordered technically 3 desserts. The flan was good. Not the best I've had. This bakery in Riverhead has amazing flan and I'm not sure if this was homemade, but it was still good. Just not as silky as that epic flan I had. the cafecito instantly hit me in the intestine but for a regular coffee drinker I'm sure it would've been effective and good. The milk cut it enough where I didn't really need sugar and it was smooth and in this tiny cup that reminded me of the way my friend said her Moroccan mother would serve her tea. It's also like the small cups they serve at the Ethiopian bunna cafe. I ended my meal with a shot the waitress told me to mix and that it was not strong. She did not lie. It tasted like chocolate milk and the cherry served with it was a nice touch. Anyway. All was good. I was very full and satisfied. I felt the food was tasty and timely. The staff was attentive and professional and the atmosphere was clean and homey. I would come again.

This restaurant is one of my go to places. It is a Cuban restaurant. My daughter found this restaurant on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. The location featured on the show was not this location but the one in Queens. This location opened around 7 years ago. The owner Rudy is always pleasant and can often seen waiting on tables and seating guest. As for the food, my choice is the smoked pork chops which is an incredible value considering how much food you get. Rudy has banned me from ordering the pork chops and the last couple of times, he has picked my meal. So far everything that he has picked is a hit. Try the cod fish fritters with a touch of their green hot sauce. The oxtail stew is cooked to perfection and the savory meat falls off the bone. For drinks, I like the coconut mojito and this one of the few restaurants that serve Presidente beer. They also serve a mango and passion fruit mojito. The service is always prompt and courteous.

Ok, so I've eaten at their location in Queens, and found out that they had opened another location near my sister-In-law's house in Long Island. So we went in to check it out. Different from the Queens location, there is a parking lot! They have an outdoor tent dining option if you want. Service was very attentive and they really make you feel warm and welcomed. Ambiance - there is a rustic charm here, the workers really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome same in the queens located! And the food, the food, it's really good Cuban food! I've been really bad lately at taking pictures because I've been getting caught up with company. The food is delicious, the prices are great and portions are great it's a good place to bring friends order food, drinks and enjoy each other's company.

My mom loved their chicken and rice on her 82nd birthday. I've tried to duplicate it at home but it tastes better if they make it.

First time coming here with my family and a friend. We were greeted by very friendly staff. For apps, we ordered mini beef empanadas, pork tamales and something made with fried plantain with ropa vieja in the middle (sorry, I can't remember the name). The corn base of the tamales was excellent and the pork filling was a bit dry. The beef empanadas and the plantain with ropa vieja were excellent! We did a family style for the entree's and we ordered oxtail (the best and my favorite - fall-off-the-bone, well-seasoned, juicy), fried chicken (nicely seasoned but the chicken breast part was dry), fried porkchops (nice flavor with sautéed onions but a bit dry), ropa vieja (excellent) and the sides were white rice (really good), black beans, salad and sweet plantains. As for the ambiance, it was just right. Not noisy, good customers and the staff were very attentive to our needs. Great place to entertain a friend or a family!

The food is a little too salty, all of a sudden. So if you are on a low sodium diet, you have to be very careful of what you order. The service is first class, the staff is very friendly. The ambiance takes you back to the Cuba of yester years.

If you love everything fried, tasteless, with old overused oil then the sampler platter and this place may be for you. Not for me. Terribly disappointed. I have never had Cuban or any Hispanic food lacking flavor. The chicken was so dried out it had the texture of leather. Asked the waitress and she said - yes thats how it's supposed to be. This is a hard skip and will never return.

What an amazing place. The food was insanely good. Probably the best Cuban food I have had since Cuba Libre near 19th street in NYC closed. The waitress was on point. Just made amazing recommendations one after the other. But she forgot to tell me about the tamales. So we had to add them on too!!! I will be back monthly it was that good. Even loved the Ox tail. First time I ordered it. Won't be the last.

It was my First time there. I had heard a lot of good things about the food. Extensive menu- so I asked the waitress to give me the most popular dish. It was shredded steak in a tomato sauce . It was VERY good. I got 2 sides W/my entree - french fries ( homemade - you can tell the difference) & brown rice & black beans . My daughter ordered a stuffed chicken breast in a garlic sauce - amazing flavors . She got fresh sautéed veggies (excellent) and a white rice . We also, had empanadas as an App. We had to try dessert ... Tres Leches & rice pudding. Delicious , homemade & very fresh. Everyone was very nice . The desserts were on the house- Thank you again !! ,I had 1 tiny gripe, as nice as they all were , they could have been a bit more attentive . Regardless I would absolutely go there again& I highly recommend Rincon Criollo .Fair prices . Loved the ambiance and vibe of the whole place. There's a separate bar area wTVS - Apparently they get pretty busy Most nights but we had just beat the dinner rush .They also have a tent set up outside & have a lot more room for a bigger crowds. 2 thumbs up

Friend recommend this location and we are extremely happy that we came. Cuban food is excellent!! Hosts and Service was very accommodating. Background Music and theme is authentic. Also heard they will be opening another location which we will definitely visit.

so overpriced. It's basic Latin food. Cuban sandwich is very good. Ropa vieja is not great. $120 for two with no alcohol one app two basic dishes. Is crazy expensive. What happened? Inflation? Wont be going back anytime soon.

I had to drive through a narrow driveway to enter the parking lot, where the entrance of the restaurant is located. My subcompact car could easily accommodate the narrow driveway entrance on the right-side of West Jericho Turnpike if one is driving East. Drivers of bigger vehicles, such as sedans and SUVs, ought to enter the wider driveway entrances from the side streets, such as New York Avenue and Albany Street. I came in and sat at the bar for Saturday lunch. I ordered the stuffed cassava (with the ground beef), coconut flan, and cafe con leche. My selections tasted good, and I would return to this restaurant if I were in the neighborhood again. The service was ok, but I had to ask for bread and water though.
