Stumbled across this place thanks to tiktok. We loved every minute of our experience here. The food is to die for. Please try the grilled octopus. Thank me later. The service was amazing. We had a chance to meet one of the co-owners, she was delightful. Seriously do not skip this place it's perfect.

Lovely setting and wine was delicious but portions are extremely small (strange the Italians behind us got a much larger serving?) The starter of aubergine pictured below was €14 and said it came with bread…it was more like a stale crisp. The pasta dishes were very tasty and it may be down to personal taste but the pasta with gricia was so al dente it was hard. Really disappointed was so looking forward to the best food of my life in Rome but this was definitely not the place to find it…😔

Controluce in Rome is a charming restaurant with standout dishes. The papardeli with lamb was a masterpiece. The desserts were also very impressive, showcasing the very high skill of the chef. The overall dining experience was delightful.

Excellent place. I was staying a few doors down on via Luce in Trastevere and coming back with from drinks with coworkers who were staying nearby and I stumbled upon this place. Wow the Amatriciana was phenomenal. Perfectly al Dente and the guanciale was perfectly tender and salty. Not too soft, not too crunchy. I also ordered the special which was an oxtail dish, I forget the exact name. But it was sooo good. Shredded oxtail in between two peices of what looked like polenta corn bread. Great atmosphere seemed like it was mostly locals but also I didn’t feel unwelcome. I also came at 10:40pm 20 before closing and I’m leaving now over an hour and a half later and I never felt rushed. Great local spot with phenomenal food.

Food was good, service was terrible. Came for our honeymoon and the service was awful, at least we bonded over how mean they were. Complimented the owners dress might as well have spit on it. Wanted to support a women owned business, oh well.

Perfect experience, best food, best recommendations, best wine. We found this little restaurant while walking around Trastevere. It is situated away from the main roads, but the short detour is worth it. The owner, i forgot her name, was absolutely friendly, funny and on spot, with recommendations for her offerings. Thanks a lot and see you again on our next trip to the magnificent city called Roma.

Very nice place, quiet, good atmosphere, nice terrace outside, away from the touristic spots. Good choice of dishes and the possibility to have extra dishes depending on the arrivals of the day (and the will of the chef I guess too !). The ingredients are fresh. Nice address in Rome !
