Ristorante Il Portolano

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Ristorante Il Portolano, and it was an unforgettable experience. Located on the edge of the sea, the restaurant offers stunning views of the water and a beautiful mountain backdrop. Claudia, the restaurant owner, was exceptionally kind and accommodating. Despite our mix-up with the reservation time, she graciously held our table for an hour until we arrived. Her warmth and hospitality made our special evening even more memorable. Claudia recommended a spectacular Vermentino that we couldn't find at any other restaurant in Porto Cervo. The pasta with leeks and crab was a revelation – unlike anything we had ever tried before. The grilled fish was cooked to perfection. We are happy that we chose Ristorante Il Portolano for our anniversary dinner. It was the best meal we had during our entire trip to Sardinia, and we can't wait to return on our next visit to the island. Thank you, Claudia, for making our anniversary so special!

Fabulous restaurant with one of the best views in Sardinia. Previous Michelin guide. We were seated for lunch, walking in without a reservation, and were lucky enough to have a table overlooking the sea. We ordered raw Seabass with lemon oil followed by seafood spaghetti, fennel, orange and walnut salad, and a nice bottle of Spumanti. Service was exceptional. The only issue you will jave is food envy when you see other fabulous dishes.

We had a wonderful lunch. Everything was exquisite: the food, the service, the atmosphere and the view overlooking the bay and the island of Tavolara. Highly recommended.

High quality food and fantastic location. I strongly recommend it!!! We had a great baked turbot-fish. Atmosphere is formal.

Nice food and view but service could be improved. We liked the food and the wine but even though we took 4 courses per person we were basically told to leave right after dessert. This was not nice. We actually found the portions big so if you’re not a big eater I’d recommend one for appetizer, one secondi and dessert. I would appreciate more guidance from the service on how many courses to take.

We stayed in Porto San Paolo for a week and this was the best restaurant we tried. We actually visited it twice. The stuff was very helpful and kind and the food was amazing! Our favourite dish was the couscous with mussels and it’s a must try!

Fantastic experience, highly suggested if you want seafood. The place is right on the pier and the atmosphere is beautiful. Personnel is kind and not intrusive at all. A little pricey though, but it's worth it

We had a fantastic meal at this cozy waterfront restaurant serving Sardinian classics with inventive twists. Located just steps from the sea with waterfront breezes this place exudes charm and understated elegance. While the menu seems familiar with other spots the little flourishes elevate the experience. We started with a divine connolo-like a canolli but a savory crust filled with a light and creamy goat cheese served with amazingly flavorful tiny tomatoes-simple but divine. Their curlighones, another classic, were served grilled with a minty pesto but the absolute pinnacle was the fish. We were two couples and we each got the sea bass (for 2) one Mediterranean style (oven roasted with oil, herbs, tomatoes and potatoes) and the other baked in a salt crust. Each was beautifully served table side with the fish deboned and plated. Melt in your mouth good! The ample wine list features dozens of local options all at great prices. A must go.

Everything was perfect!!! A wonderful experience!!! I loved my dessert campari & orange sherbet. Very different innovations.

Excellent sea-side Restaurant in Port San Paolo (not la taverna). Nice atmosphere and view of la Tavalera. Prices are reasonable.

Excellent food and service! Roberto and his wife are so welcoming, and the food is to die for. The octopus salad is perfectly cooked and all the ingredients are super fresh!
