I don’t give 5 stars lightly, but Ristorante Il Portolano absolutely earned every single one. I visited twice during my trip to Sardinia—and yes, that’s because I had to go back for more of their food. The first time was unforgettable; the second? Even better.
From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us like family—warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they serve. No pushy upselling, just sincere hospitality that made us feel right at home. And the food? Pure magic. Every dish tasted like it was crafted with love, fresh local ingredients, and generations of tradition. The seafood was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, the pasta was al dente heaven, and the homemade desserts? I still dream about them.
But let’s talk about the view—oh my goodness, the view. Perched right over the water, watching the sun dip below the horizon while sipping local wine and savoring each bite… it wasn’t just dinner. It was a soul-stirring experience.
I’ve eaten at dozens of restaurants across Italy, but Il Portolano stands out as one of the very best. If you’re in Sardinia, do yourself a favor: book a table here. Go once, and you’ll be back—just like me. I’m already planning my next trip just so I can return. Nonna would approve. 🇮🇹❤️
