La Madernassa Resort

Ristorante La Madernassa We have checked out 4 one star Michelin restaurants and 1 restaurant with no star in Piemonte. It was quite a surprise. We can truly say, that La Madernassa was by far the best of all visited and from our point of view it is close to a second star. The snacks at the beginning were very different and flavorful. All courses were well prepared and in perfect harmony to themselves and also to the other courses. So bravo!!!! when it comes to the hotel aspect of La Madernassa, the world looks completely different. The rooms were not made to a decent standard, toilet paper is missing, towels were not sufficient, because forgotten. Mold in the shower and a falling apart room door did not give the best impression. Overall, eat there but stay somewhere else. And please understand all is mentioned in context to price.

We had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding at La Madernassa Resort on August 10th, and the day left nothing to be desired. The organization of the event, in collaboration with White Cat Wedding, was simply perfect. Thanks to the very attentive staff, the superb food, and the ensuing party, we were able to fully enjoy the day. We were also thrilled with the ambiance of the resort. The entire property is very well-maintained and offers so many different possibilities for celebrating a wedding. With the adjacent Casalora B&B, it provides the perfect location to extend your stay and continue enjoying this beautiful place. We will definitely be coming back.

We were met with great attention to taste at service at La Madernassa’s . We opted for the 7 course menu, we were surprised with how balanced and tasty food and wines were. Personnel was very competent and eager to explain ingredients and history, and also very kind and joyous, transmitting a sense of positivity and relaxation rarely encountered in restaurants. I would travel back to the region just to dine there again...

This restaurant is excellent, and on the way for another Michelin star (we happened to come just a few weeks after they received their second star). We found it very formal in the beginning, and it takes a while to feel at ease, but it is just a matter of time. There as just a few tables in the main dining room. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive to details. Before we started, they served a sequence of small dishes: very creative selection. We had the 8 dishes menu and it was outstanding. The key for us was how delicate and well balanced all dishes were. There is a clear style that is consistently followed through by the chef (who constantly comes out of the kitchen explaining the dishes) for the whole menu. The wine pairing was another highlight, as the sommelier managed to capture the essence of the food with his selection. UPDATE: I went for a second visit and can confirm what I wrote before: simply amazing.

We travelled around Italy for two weeks and ate at four 3 Michelin star restaurants (among many others) and although they were good-- the food at La Madernassa was our favorite, made with expertise, love & passion. We will remember our dinner for years to come and look forward to visiting again in the near future!

A must if you are in Piedmonte. Absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish. Really exceptional high standard of food and service. We had the metamorphosis tasting menu and wine pairing and each dish was amazing. I really think this chef is on his way for two stars. Food is really creative and fusion so if you are looking for traditional Piedmonte food then this is not for you. Be prepared for your senses to be awakened for each dish. Exceptional use of herbs and flavours in the most simplistic creative way. We had a fabulous evening and would certainly return. Really think it was good value for the high quality of food. You will not be disappointed.
