Ristorante Nello

An exceptional culinary experience – refined, rooted, and truly memorable We had lunch at Nello and were genuinely impressed. This is modern Italian cuisine at its best – reimagined with creativity and finesse, yet deeply respectful of its roots. The two pasta dishes stood out in particular. The ravioli could easily be served in a three-star restaurant in Italy – and would receive standing ovations. Special praise also goes to the pâtisserie. The craftsmanship, the balance of flavours, and the elegance of textures were truly remarkable – a perfect conclusion to an outstanding meal. The setting is calm and understated, in a quiet village, with warm, attentive service and a kitchen that clearly masters both craft and vision. A rare combination in the region. We’ll definitely be back.

Nello deserves a star - asap! The food was super creative with a great love for details and unbelievably tasty. Coupled with the amazing service of Chiara, Ristorante Nello manages to create a magic dinner experience that everyone traveling the area should try out. We have been to many Michelin-starred restaurants before that would have a hard time competing with Ristorante Nello! The exploding ravioli and the “by candlelight” dessert are to die for! We will definitely be back!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining here during my trip to Italy, and it was truly one of the highlights of the entire trip. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The food was beyond incredible — every dish was perfectly prepared, full of authentic flavors, and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into every plate. The atmosphere was equally amazing — warm, inviting, and full of that classic Italian charm that makes you want to sit and enjoy for hours. Whether you’re inside or outside, it’s the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed and taken care of. But what really made the experience special was the staff. They were kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making sure every detail was perfect. You can feel their passion for what they do, and it adds so much to the experience.

What a find! The level of creativity, detail orientation, and taste were quite far beyond expectations. The food was so good that, during our first course, my dining partner and I implemented a rule to place the eating utensils down between bites to ensure we savored every taste. The beef tartare was my favorite while the risotto, the “not risotto”, and the Peposo to the East were also excellent. While there was a wait for dessert, the Snello was worth it. The entire experience was amazing. Implement the rule.

A whole dining experience. The food was amazing! Such interesting combinations of good that work so well together. The service was fantastic and the explanation of each dish made the journey and experience more than you can hope for. This is a must visit place in San Casciano!

Everything was delicious here. The homemade ravioli was a real show stopped with this warm liquid parmesan filling that exploded in your mouth. Venison was also great. Loved the amuse bouche and post-dessert snacks. The restaurant has a stylish vibe and atmosphere, too. Not to mention great service!

OMG! What a fantastic evening. New owners (Federico and Chiara) pour their hearts into making your dining experience truly exceptional and it shows. The restaurant decor is upscale, yet comfortable and inviting. The service is impeccable and only matched by the quality of the food. If you are looking for a Michelin star dining experience without the high prices you need to put Ristorante Nello at the top of you list. Highly recommend.

Amaaaaaazing food here! House wine was wonderful. Cheese appetizer was perfect, and the gnocchi special was beyond words it was so good. Very welcoming staff who stayed open late for us.

We were recommended this place by our agriturismo host and it was definitely a find. The place is a mother daughter team and the food is spectacular. We were given a basket of delicious bread and ordered the Tuscan appetizer which was comprised of several dried meats and this chicken/rabbit foie gras spread on a crostini - holy smokes that was divine. I ordered the wild boar ragu pasta and my wife ordered some kinda vegetable pasta and honestly it must've been the 2nd best meal we've had in Italy. If you're in the area check this place out.

Great find after a long day in Siena. Loved the cheese platter for appetizer and pasta with mushrooms as a main course!
