"Here, where the Parma river once broke its banks, you’ll find an attractive trattoria with pleasant dining rooms and excellent cuisine cooked over a wood and herb fire, one of the oldest culinary techniques in the world. The main courses feature meat only, with an extensive number of dishes on the menu. Among the home-made desserts, we recommend the fior di latte ice-cream, which is served with a choice of delicious sauces." - Michelin Inspector

Ristorante Parma Review - North Beach - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"An excellent, not-fancy place to eat some pasta in the Marina. Don’t come for fresh ramps and sage-ricotta-truffle dust, but do come for lots of well-cooked carbs in delicious sauces, plus an ambience that feels like home. This is where we go when we need a pasta hug. The carbonara is never a bad move." - Taylor Abrams

We made a reservation for seven persons and were seated in an almost private room. That was a wonderful surprise because we were meeting friends we hadn’t seen for a long time. Even though we were a little hidden, there was always staff checking if we had everything we needed. The staff is amazing here! Very professional and always friendly. The food served is very good. I had the fried artichokes that my friend and husband loved so much. They weren’t really for me because I thought they were a little too salty and could use a dip on the side. My friend had the annoli in broth, which was amazing. The lasagne our youngest guest had, looked amazing and was well received. For the main course we had T-bone steak (perfect!), lamb (also wonderful), chicken (too dry, sorry) and the rib eye (I have had better, there were some tendons in my piece). We ended it all with their famous ice cream. Delicious and so much fun to be served! So all in all the food was good, but the service impeccable. We will be going again!

Outstanding atmosphere. Outstanding food. Outstanding staff. We had the beef tongue, lasagna and steak. All were prepared perfectly. The pineapple dessert is a must try.

I have been coming here a few times a year, from America and Dubai , where I live, for over 2 decades, and I was looking at the negative reviews. All the negative ones talk about “over priced” “tourist trap”. I hate these kinds of reviews , because it really doesn’t focus on the most important part - the product. I travel 250,000 miles a year, eat at the best restaurants in the world - Michelin stars, etc. and I can say, Parma Rotta is one my top 3 restaurants in the world. If it was double the price, it would be be one of my top 3 restaurants in the world. If it was half the price, would be one of my top 3 restaurants in the world. So, forget price. People want a review of the food. Cheapskates want to know value. I know the family for the last 25+ years that run it. In general, they care, their service is very attentive , but understand, they don't speak a lot of other languages, so probably any negative reviews on service is solely language barrier based. They’re wonderful people. Overpriced? , or, maybe they simple can command their higher price. That’s a business decision and success. Not a reflection on them wanting to take advantage on anyone. If they were overpriced and not good, no one would go. That’s not the case. We have a show twice a year for vintage high end collectibles (me, watches) , the Mercantefiere di Parma - and all the Italian dealers choose Parma Rotta multiple times during the show week. That says it all. Go there. Have the Schiena, Fiorentina, or chicken - all top notch. And don't miss out on some of the best home made gelato I’ve ever experienced. And spend a few euros on some good local wine. Food is to be enjoyed, not financially analyzed. You won’t regret. Grazie, Parma Rotta, il tuo cliente di lunga data. .

Wait staff very professional, we had some parmigiano reggiano (can't go wrong), then risotto and lasagna neither dish had the wow effect but were good. We also had the side table Gelato that we both liked

One of the best restaurants in Parma…. Across the years the quality and service level hasn’t been changed. Stakes and meat are the top as well as appetizers and cold cuts. Don’t miss the home made gelato with topping of chocolate and zabaione. Wine list is huge and well furnished. This is not a cheap restaurant but the price is totally worth. Price range over $€100… wines choice can bring up the price significantly.

My wife and I tried a few things, and they were all hit or miss. Terrific Beef Wellington, for example, but tough and unremarkable Irish beef tagliata. The dessert was nothing to write home about. I might come back eventually, but it's not necessarily a place I would recommend. UPDATE: Replying to the owner's reply below, I did point out to the waitress that the beef was tough. But I appreciate that the owner addressed my worry.
