Unbelievable shitty terrible atrocious behavior from the "floor manager" at the restaurant this evening, says a frequent flyer, well traveled foodie.
I came at 6:22 pm on a thursday evening without a reservation party of one. To be fair, it's the most empty I've seen the restaurant in a long time. My typical single dining experience runs about 45 minutes-ish.
I frequent this restaurant because I live in the neighborhood and have been a patron for years, celebrating birthdays and recommendations, and especially during covid to help keep them and the staff keep going. It was my favorite until tonight.
I asked for a table, one tucked off into the corner, not in the middle of the room. I was seated at a table that literally felt colder than the outside because it was right by the window. Everything on the table was freezing because it's sitting next to the window. When I went back up to the hostess, calmly, and asked if there's somewhere else I could sit because it was so cold (with a long coat and sweater and long sleeve shirt on). They said I was the third person to say that and requested to be moved. They also said that every other single table in the entire restaurant was spoken for, and I couldn't have it except for one next to the kitchen or at the bar. Discrimination against a solo diner?
There's absolutely no way that my service would have taken long enough to intrude on any type of reservation. There is absolutely no way that every single table was reserved for that evening.
The floor manager was up front with the hostess, which, by the way, the hostess was very nice. And she was unaccommodating. When I called back to talk to the manager, I found out she was the floor manager, the ome who was so rude and un-accomodating. I can not believe this is who piccolinos have representing them. She passive aggressively made comments to me when I was trying to get to the bottom up of why I was treated so poorly. I told her it was the worst experience i've ever had at piccolino's and that she needs to go back to etiquette school for more training. She proceeded to tell me I stormed out. I'm sorry, when you're told there's nothing else available, then what else are you supposed to do, not leave? Her interpretation of my turning around and leaving tells me everything I need to know about her and her lack of customer service etiquette and responsibility.
Hey, floor manager with the orange red hair, you're not representing the community or the restaurant very well.
There are a lot of people who need jobs right now, and I'm sure you have other people who could work circles around her customer service.
I requested the owner call me and gave her my number and full name. At which time she passive aggressively said I couldn't have the owners personal number. Why would you say that? I didn't ask for it.
It only takes one bad experience to wipe away all the good experiences you've had. She has wiped it away, and this frequent flyer is not coming back. Such rude, terrible service. I say vote with your time and money. That's all the power we have nowadays. I will take my money and my time to other establishments that will treat me with a monicam of respect. In fact, I went down the road to Cafe Muir on 80th and 24th NW. Go try it all, it's fantastic and the service is incredible.
