The 14 Best Restaurants At San Francisco International Airport - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Early-morning flights—or any flight, for that matter—can be made marginally less painful with a nice jolt of caffeine. Ritual Coffee is a great option. The SF-based coffee shop serves strong espresso drinks in their classic red cups, plus pastries and breakfast sandwiches. It’s just what you’ll need to stay awake during the flight so you can cry your way through the last half of Crazy Rich Asians (again)." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez

Beleaguered Mission District Coffee Company Ritual Just Opened a Location at SFO | Eater SF

"At SFO’s Harvey Milk Terminal 1 I saw Ritual Coffee begin pulling espresso shots on October 4; the airport outpost, which took more than five years to bring to fruition, is one of several new developments the company will roll out this winter and currently operates daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m." - Paolo Bicchieri

My first time here at Rituals. When I got in here I was thinking to get a coffee and a snack but I changed my mind when I saw bugs like a black fly sitting on muffins and cinnamon buns. I decided to get matcha latte and a coffee. The service is okay, there's no one who looks happy here, no smile just straight face. Served the drinks and we moved to our gates. Matcha latte is full of milk there's no taste of matcha and the coffee I heard from my friend was tasting little sour. I have my doubts on there hygiene. I will never go to the Rituals, this is done for me.

Google
We used to love Ritual Coffee, but unfortunately, this location seems to have gone downhill. The space feels run down, with things not working and cleanliness being a noticeable issue. We saw workers handling cash and then giving out food without washing their hands—definitely concerning. On top of that, the prices don’t match the quality anymore. A small latte cost $7 and arrived half empty, filled mostly with foam. It’s frustrating to feel like the attention to detail and care that Ritual was once known for is missing. It seems like a stronger team or better management could address these issues, as they’re all fixable. We hope things improve because we used to truly enjoy coming here.

Google
Pretty busy & popular coffee spot - they have a kiosk to order & pickup rather than wait in the line. Not sure why people wouldn’t utilize this because I got my coffee quicker than those who stood there. Not much of a seating area. Coffee was decent, ham&cheese croissant was ok. Expensive but you’ll run into that anywhere in the airport.

Google
Simple cold brew standard quality- the grumpiest service ever. I don’t need to be pampered but geez I’m paying almost $8 for a coffee everyone seems mad. Good looking pastry & Sandwich assortment. I appreciate the compostable cup/ straw

This is the first time I got a decent espresso in an airport (and I travel a lot). Typically, even chains that are good everywhere else, somehow find a way to make their airport coffee taste like any other airport coffee. Ritual's however tasted proper.

Google
Rudest place in the airport, the smallest coffees I have ever seen with outrageous prices. This coffee is so bad!! Never again. Don't waste your time. BTW the muffins are old, stale and pretty much tasteless. Just wow. Wish we would have known. Should have read the reviews

Google
I have been to Ritual's SFO location, just past security at T1, more times than I can count. I travel through SFO every two weeks, and I have been to every other shop here that boasts anything resembling an espresso machine. They all pale in comparison. I cannot comment on the ambiance or service. It's an airport. It will be noisy, overpriced, and the people behind the counter will likely be strained past the limit of their tollerance for your...whimsy (you know who you are). Nor have I have never had the food here or anything else aside from a small latte, so I cannot comment on all that. But the latte...well, it's an 8 or so (with 1 being motel continental breakfast lubricant and 10 being this year's WBC winner). But it's a consistent 8. Every. Single. Time. Out of dozens to date. And that is a feat worth at least 5 stats.

Google
Store is bright and clean, but coffee was v. bitter (to my taste). Service was a bit “meh;” and they had no prices posted for their food items. Makes it hard to buy anything.

Yelp
Place has a cute set up with a few tables if you want to sit and eat there. It was quite busy when I went but they were pretty quick to make drinks. I ordered their matcha latte for $7.40 and I do not recommend it. It had a very grainy texture that made me want to cough every time I took a sip (not exaggerating). The flavor was also very light, I couldn't really taste anything.

Yelp
Wish the cup size is larger. This is right outside the security check point at Gates B. Very conveniently located. The Cashier and Barista had smiles on even it was early morning and the line was long. Will come again when waiting to board a plane in the intwrnational terminals gates B & C area. Price is regular airport price: pricey and additional airport tax.

Yelp
Solid place for a sandwich after clearing security at SFO Harvey Milk terminal 1. I stopped by for a pesto caprese on foccacia sandwich ($15) and a matcha latte ($7.40) this morning. The sandwich was excellent, warmed up just the right amount, enough to melt the cheese but not make the tomatoes soggy. The matcha, however, was mediocre. Happy to stop by for food in the future.

Yelp
Great coffee. I used the ordering station which helped avoid the line. Coffee came out quickly. Ordered a latte with the vanilla cardamom. It was so good -- nice amount of spice to balance the sweet.

Yelp
I had to get my last good cup of coffee at the airport, and Ritual beckoned my name! There's a kiosk in the front if you want to skip the line and walk right to the back. There's definitely a cool vibe, though, if you want to stay and have your beverage in the cafe. The flat white I got was perfect!

Yelp
My flight was delayed. And delayed. And then canceled. And then there was a new flight. And now I'm in this coffee place. My little spot of espresso with a lovely cream heart in it is my respite currently. This place is spacious and pleasant and the drink menu is simple and cute. There aren't a ton of cold coffee choices so mentally prepare yourself for that, but otherwise it's a pretty nice experience. I commented on how beautiful the design in my espresso was as I carried my little cup and dish as though it were a wounded bird all the way to my table. The barista thanked me. A+ would visit again.

Yelp
This Ritual coffee is located perfectly right outside of the security checkpoint for gates b and c. It was my first time having ritual coffee, but I know it's a well known brand in sf. I used the kiosk and ordered an iced cardamom vanilla latte with oat milk! There was a bit of a line for the cashier but not for the kiosk at all which I'd recommend. I like that they had some small tables and seats inside like for single travelers. And my drinks came out relatively quick. This is honestly one of the best lattes I've had. The cardamom adds a perfect amount of spice and it's balanced by the vanilla and the coffee is just incredible. I will say it is pretty expensive with all the fees and etc but hey if you're here you're probably traveling. TREAT YOURSELF!!

Yelp
I don't ever expect too much from airport food. As a rule, this keeps me from being too disappointed. However, the quality of the coffee at ritual meets and beats my expectations. While the line is often long, it is worth the wait if you can spare the time before your flight to get a good quality latte or flat white. The ordering system is a little bit messy, as there are about 20 people waiting in the pick up area at any given time, and even when you order on the kiosk, you don't get a notification when your order is ready. As such, it's best to stay put while you wait for your drink rather than wandering off to look for your gate while waiting. They also have a great selection of food that looks pretty fresh, though I've never tried it. I've stuck to the coffee, and it's always kept me happy.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches in San Francisco. There's literally no reason for an airport latte and biscuit to be this good but it just really is. The biscuit is so fluffy and sweet and is a must for breakfast when in terminal A. I advise to order from the self-check out so you don't have to wait in the long line!

Yelp
SOOOO EXCITED to see Ritual in the airport, but on top of that is it JUST AS GOOD as Valencia St!!! There are many seats and tables. I got the veggie quiche and veggie sandwich, a latte for here and to go and am not even slightly disappointed, which I was of course expecting since it is the airport... You can even order ahead, which I definitely recommend since the line is outrageous. I love Ritual Coffee. I no longer am there often, but it is so good I always try to go when I am in the area because it is that good.

Yelp
For airport cappuccino this place is fire! I didn't even inquire about the beans or anything else because I expected mediocre airport coffee. However, I was very positively surprised! Whatever beans were used they were roasted really well, with lots of flavor. This was by far the best airport cappuccino I've ever had nationwide. The service was as you'd expect for an airport very quick so nothing to complain about there.

Yelp
Located in terminal 1, the matcha latte is really bad, not smooth at all, almost got choked by whatever inside it. And it is 7 dollars.

Yelp
For a coffee shop in an airport I was pleasantly surprised! I was very impressed by how quickly they were able to get through the big crowds of people in line. Not only that, I was happy that they served me my espresso in a glass cup so I could enjoy it in the store despite how busy it was. I preferred getting to enjoy my coffee there rather than take it to go, and that's an option here! Another cool thing about this Ritual location is that they stock a lot of useful coffee equipment, like the origami brewer and kalita wave filters. Definitely would not mind returning to this coffee shop for a caffeine fix before a flight. If you're in SFO and need coffee, look no further than Ritual!

Yelp
The iced matcha was pretty bad - gritty, watery, very little flavor. The place looks nice enough but next time I'd skip and probably try to find something pre-bottled at one of the airport shops.

Yelp
The perfect spot for great coffee and amazing food! Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it even better. Highly recommend!"
