14 Excellent Frosty Milkshakes in Austin

"Austin’s vegan ice cream shop uses its dairy-free vanilla soft serve in a variety of basic milkshakes like chocolate, salted caramel, peanut butter, and taro. Then there are what it calls “fancy shakes” with additions like sprinkles, chocolate shells, and gummies." - Nadia Chaudhury

Ariana did such an amazing job with my haircut! She got my bangs and layers just right, and my hair went from feeling thin and flat to feeling bouncy with movement. She’s so sweet and really listened and asked questions about what I wanted for my cut. I highly recommend her!

I saw Suzanne two months ago. I had curly hair down to my shoulders. I came in for a shape up (1-2 inches off). I left with a hard mullet. I did not ask for this. Luckily, the salon reimbursed me. But, the overall experience was terrible for what was going to be a $100 haircut — hair was layered terribly, cut into a style I despise and will have to live with until it’s grown back, and the stylist couldn’t get my name right.

I’m a returning client with color/cut from Mackenzie and she does a WONDERFUL job on my hair! She makes me feel so beautiful and I always leave the salon with silky, soft hair. She is very accommodating and I fully trust her with her with any concept I bring up. I adore her work!!

I've been following Gracie around since we were kids. Let me tell you .... she has been doing hair since her high school yrs!! What can I say? She's got skills. Cut and color pro. <3 She knows Oribe up and down. Which I love!! Like the wall full of Oribe here. They carry sets occasionally and have goodies. Like this week I went by. I got a travel Oribe texturizing spray free with my 2 full size items. :) I had a glass of white and enjoyed a quick bite across the street at PicNik.

I love this salon! My family and I have been coming here for years and have gotten services from multiple stylists and have always been happy. Everyone is so kind and welcoming and the experience is overall such a treat. Mackenzie is doing my hair now and did the most gorgeous color! She also was super knowledgeable about the products and was able to guide me in purchasing things that really helped my hair and kept it looking amazing!

Google
The salon and people are great, and my haircuts so far have been fine. Just not blown away by the cuts or service. Not bad by any means, but if I find a better salon I will switch.

Kellie is Amazing! She worked with my teenager to give her the exact cut she wanted.

Just had a wonderful haircut here with Rachel. Loved the salon, the products, and the vibe, and Rachel made my hair look fabulous - such a great cut!Just had a wonderful haircut here with Rachel. Loved the salon, the products, and the vibe, and Rachel made my hair look fabulous.

Yelp
The salon is cute and everyone I spoke with was friendly. Savannah is AMAZING!! We went from long and brown to short and blonde- I'm obsessed with my hair and have been getting nonstop compliments.

Yelp
I found the salon I've been looking for! I had an appointment yesterday with Rachel and she is the best of the best!! She goes above and beyond to make sure you get the perfect cut and color!! The last 4 salons I went to would not get my hair light enough. She did exactly what I wanted! I highly recommend Rachel and she is such a joy to talk to!! I already made 2 more appointments with her!!

Yelp
Love this salon. Bridgit, the owner, is a master colorist, and all the stylists are great. There's complimentary drinks, including Prosecco, and Aveda products for sale, along with some other prestige brands. Parking is never a problem, but, then, I have a small car. Highly recommend this place. Support local women-owned businesses!

Yelp
A word of caution! I enjoyed my experience at the salon the first time but something happened this past time. My blond highlights have turned orange, within just two weeks of the visit! I went in for my appointment the day before my vacation, and notified the salon as soon as I returned to the country, two weeks later. Because it was outside of their very short window (which is 24 hours...of course, before you'd know the color was going to tarnish!), they would not fix my hair at no cost to me. I would have to pay some $80 (on top of the $200 I already paid to get it done) to get the color corrected even though I have been coloring my hair blond for years and this has never happened. Of course, I'm aware that blond color tarnishes with time. But definitely not just two weeks in. :( Really disappointed in the recovery (or lack thereof); for this reason, I wouldn't return.

Yelp
I've been going to Sharamey a long time. Thought about it the other day and I think it's been since 2015 or so. She's fantastic handling my back and forth hairstyle requests. Last weeks appointment, I decided I wanted to do something different and get a full balayage with a color glaze/gloss. We had done a half or so months ago because I'm so picky about my hair. Natural redhead, who has had bad experiences about just getting it cut. But I totally trust Sharamey and she it it out of the park. We went with copper and blonde that was toned toward a strawberry blonde. My hair looks amazing! I absolutely love it. Before and After

Yelp
Everything about my experience here was sensational. First of all, I cannot speak highly enough of Rachel, who was not only attentive to what I said I wanted and why I was there, but also sensitive and brilliant at interpreting my fragmented account into a great haircut. She was also a totally warm and engaging conversationalist, which I appreciate because I can definitely be chatty in this context. She was also kind enough to not make me feel like an idiot for cutting my own hair since my last haircut, and this is very unusual. I admit that is is silly to do this and, most of the time, I definitely hear about just how silly it was while I am in the chair. It is also worth noting that this was the first haircut I have gotten that actually made it possible to see what my hair was actually going to look like on a daily basis. I know it's lovely to walk out of a salon, coiffed to perfection under the expert hand of your stylist, but I never blow my hair dry, so Rachel made sure to show me what my hair would look like the next time I got out of the shower. Rachel is a brilliant stylist, and a totally great human being to spend an hour with. I'll be back. I usually wait way too long between cuts because I always feel like I'll lost more length than I want. But I trust her totally, so I will be back soon for a trim! Thanks so much. I also liked the whole attitude of the salon, including the lovely women at the front desk, who were warm and personable as I paid for the cut.

Yelp
4 hours can seem like an Eternity sometimes with particular clients. Like me. Unfortunately in my 30 yrs of having my hair Blonde I have never had this happen before now, my hair was burned off with bleach from SW at Mirror Mirror about 2 yrs ago, so I'm a nervous wreck when I get referrals for a new stylist. I was referred to Savannah from a girl from the gym. I've seen this girls blonde hair over a year now and she has always had great color. Poor Savannah had no idea what she was getting into, meeting me, however! She answered everything I asked, never showed frustration with me (that's what back rooms are for lol).. seriously though she was funny, kind and patient with me through the entire process until the end. Blondes in Austin, if you are looking for someone who understands Blonde Color and Toning plus really knows how blonde color should process come to Ritual Salon and see Savannah. You will be glad you did!! Look at my photos! This is what she had to work with. Look what she made it!!! Savannah will save your blonde hair.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING. friendly , nice vibe , very clean and chic ! My reason for coming in was I had my hair fryed ! My hair was so over toned literally gray , I went to this salon called " gala salon " on Cameron rd . The Chick Lizbeth RUINED my hair . I asked for a cute blond balayage and came out looking like doc from " back to the future " I couldn't go out looking like I had been electrocuted in public . So I called ritual salon .Luckily I got a last minute consultation with Tory . She is a professional ! I LOVE HER ! She got me in the next day , Five minutes into the appointment she was already washing out the toner, I could not believe it , she got me to the color I needed in less than a hour. Her hands are seriously a blessing ! I can't thank Tory enough .

Yelp
i'm legit surprised with these reviews, but I trust yelp when I try a new place. I was a few minutes early for my appointment, but ended up waiting for 25 minutes until I was called back. I explained to the stylist that I cut my own hair, dye it, and having fine and thinning hair. next, we spoke about what I wanted. I wasnt quite sure, so I showed her several photos of my hair in the past. we get started. as I walked out, I realized I left with the same hair as I began with, just about an inch shorter. she made sort of a tilted bob thing of my hair, and dried my crooked bangs against my head. sure, my hair looks healthier, but not anything like in the photos, or as I described to her. guys. she didn't even clean up the back of my neck, so it's prickly and irritating. I want my fifty bucks back. i'll keep cutting my own hair.

Yelp
I don't even know how to feel about my hair, most days. It defies me, it confuses me, I like it, but it's such a nuisance. On top of these feelings, every time I sit down in a new stylist's chair I feel woefully uneducated and unfeminine. I want easy hair, but I want good hair. I want to understand the magic that they can work, but I just don't. After a few unhappy experiences in another salon, it was time to throw caution to the winds and walk into Ritual with no appointment. The receptionist was so friendly and welcoming, and helped me to choose the best hairstylist for my sort of helpless-with-hair attitude. I don't want anyone who will make me feel silly when I ask dumb questions. I want someone who can look at my hair and my face and my style and help me make a decision. The receptionist set me up with Shannon, and I am so so so so grateful. She talked to me, game me some insight, didn't talk down to me but didn't make me feel like an unfeminine hair-idiot. She explained the cut she wanted to give, what she thought would be best, and she executed. I left feeling happier and lighter than I have in YEARS. I'll be coming back, and I'm so grateful to have someone to trust my hair, and my personality, with.

Yelp
Gott dang it this place is good! I really, really, really do NOT want to share this information about Ritual and my stylist. Why, you ask? Because I am selfish and do not want you all to book her up and make me wait longer to get in to see her! This is what I will begrudgingly write, and only because my desire to keep the best kept secret in Austin, conflicts with my desire to Yelp about awesome businesses in my community. I found out about this salon from a colleague who goes here. I had recently had a bad color experience and needed help correcting it. Color correction is a b&*#h so I was a little nervous. My colleague assured me that they have great colorist and stylist and if they could not help me, I was doomed. She was correct, thank you Donna Rene! I booked an appointment with Sharamey who not only fixed my botched color job, she made my hair look fabulous. I will not allow anyone else to touch my locks, she is that good. She is also smart, funny as hell and reminds of why I love Austin. That said, she is mine! Do not try to book her on the days i go! The salon itself is well appointed, vibes Austin without being too hippy dippy or too pretentious. They use quality products, their prices are reasonable and yes, they even allow you to enjoy a glass of wine while you process. So there you have it, my passion to Yelp over road my desire to keep Austin's best salon a secret. Damn you Yelp!

Yelp
So, I really debated on writing this review because my stylist was so sweet but after talking to multiple people about my experience I've decided to share. I was looking for a stylist that can work with a pixie since my usual girl is all booked up through March. When I called I specifically asked for someone that could work with pixies and that I needed it cleaned up on the bottom half. I got to my appointment about 15 minutes early, they were pretty polite, asked me if I wanted anything to drink, and I proceeded to wait for my stylist to come and get me. Throughout the haircut she was very friendly, chatted with me, and was just overall pleasant. About halfway through the cut, my stylist cuts me pretty significantly on my right ear. She is extremely apologetic, gets someone to help her because the bleeding didn't want to stop, and just continues To profusely apologize and let me know how she has never cut anyone before. I let her know the accidents happen, but it did definitely affect her confidence because she pulls out the clippers instead of continuing with a scissor cut like we had previously discussed. By this point I just want the cut to be over because I get it, you feel bad you cut me, but I'm the one that is still bleeding. The stylus was sweet and I truly do believe accidents happen so the one start is not for her effort, it's for what came when it was time to check out. Not only were they NOT apologetic for my poor experience with getting cut at their salon, there was not even an offer of a discount or anything to show "hey your service is appreciated and we're sorry you had less than excellent service today". I have never been cut at a hair salon before so I was expecting some sort of a discount for this poor experience, but after talking to several people they were surprised that my haircut wasn't free. I have been going to Salon's that tend to be on the pricey side because I enjoyed the experience, the products, and I truly believe you get what you pay for. But at this location, I did not get what I paid for. I got cut, I have a huge scab on my ear in two spots because I was cut into different parts on my ear, and I will never go back to the salon again. If your customers have less than stellar experience and you are charging over $60 for a haircut, then the experience better be amazing. I am extremely disappointed in my experience at ritual salon and you must do something to revise your policies on how you support your customers when your stylist do not do an amazing job. The stylist was very sweet and I am OK with the haircut I received, but the entire experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and you should avoid this place if you want professional customer service.

Yelp
I've been seeing Shannon for years and always leave feeling and looking amazing. She is personable, super cool, and incredibly talented. I love the location/overall vibe of the salon and enjoy my time there. 10/10!

Yelp
I'm originally from Houston, but I've moved to Austin six years ago and have been so hesitant to find a hairstylist who can cut my hair.. I saw Stevie's ad on Instagram (@steviehairnandez), checked out his Instagram, and booked a haircut appointment for the next day! I'm so glad that I did. The salon is friendly, clean, with a beautiful view of burnet. I originally wanted only two inches cut, but that wasn't realistic and we cut off almost 4 inches of dead, damaged ends. Stevie was so great with my hair and he definitely took his time, which I appreciate because I have a lot of hair. This salon uses high quality products - my hair smells fantastic with the Oribe products. I wanted layers with textured ends and that's what I got and more! I feel like a whole new person with my hair. I used the $20 off new client special, but I'm going to be coming back! I highly recommend Stevie!

Yelp
I was referred to Ritual and now I know why-my hair looks INCREDIBLE, I was one of those who grew everything during covid and am just now getting the big reset. Because it was going to be a fresh canvas of course I had jitters but Savannah was amazing. She asked all the right questions during our consultation and suggested a root smudge after I mentioned I can be a bit lazy about my roots. We had relaxed friendly conversation and I had some wonderful champagne during my process. When the blow dry came, I was literally thrilled with how everything came out, my highlights and cut were exactly what I asked for and I even booked my next appointment before I left. 10/10!!!

Yelp
I came to ritual for a color correct and I was impressed but I again didn't really vibe with my stylist. At the time I was desperate due to a beauty school incident gone horrible horrible horrible so I took an appointment with whomever had a little time on their hands. I appreciate the work she put in, and I mean I needed a ton, from a condition to a tone to a low light, etc. I was probably there 6 hours one day. However, I don't think I'll be back. The salon had a cold feeling and I felt like they were all there for personal gain. My search for a new salon in Austin continues.
google avatar

Blanca L.

Yelp
I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. I discovered the salon in 2016 and it was my go to. Even after I moved out of Austin, I would try to come back for my appointments. Sheramey is so lovely to work with! She is a wizard! She has taken me from brunette to blonde and back. I always thought that my face was too round for bangs but Sheramey was able to make them not only work, but look cute on my face. I 100% recommend Sheramey! The salon is also very nice, they treat you so well and are taking COVID precautions seriously.

Yelp
Got great service from Andrea and Savannah! Been going to Andrea for three cuts now and met Savannah recently for a color correction. Even after I finished my cut/color and felt like things were a little off, they happily adjusted it for me free of charge, and I was very satisfied with the results. This is definitely my new salon of choice.

Yelp
I've been going to ritual salon for the last several years now and my main stylist who I loved was not going to be available as much due to starting a family. I was nervous to have a new stylist work on my hair because my hair is not the easiest to work with plus there's A LOT of it!.....like a ton! Ritual salon matched me with Taylor and I have to say it's the best haircut and color job I've ever had done! Taylor took her time, was not overwhelmed with the workload, and truly painted my hair like an artist. She did such a wonderful job and I couldn't be happier! Taylor is also super sweet, kind, and outgoing......I felt like I had known her for years and would actually love to become friends with her. Thank you for turning me into a blonde bombshell and making me feel comfortable during the whole process. See you soon, Taylor!

Yelp
Don't come here if you have thick hair, you will be severely disappointed. I have thick, medium length hair and asked for layers with a face frame and long side swept bangs. Angela focused too much on the bangs and left me feeling like a mushroom head as the bangs did not transition smoothly into the rest of my layers. I finally asked her to stop cutting my bangs because it didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. There didn't seem to be any methodology in the way Angela cut my layers. There was too much focus on the thickness of my hair so she kept cutting chunks of hair that left my layers looking jagged (she went a little overboard with the thinning scissors). The right and left side of my hair looked completely different and she explained that they "are sisters not twins". Thats when I knew it wasn't going to get any better. Angela was great and super nice but I do not recommend the cut. It's also on the pricier side. If I would have known the cost of a haircut plus tip was going to cost close to $100 I would not have come here. NOT WORTH IT.

Yelp
Robin, my stylist at Ritual Salon, saved me from myself and I am eternally grateful! At home I accidentally died my hair the wrong color a few times (once on a whim, again to try and fix it) and was really embarrassed with the result. I had a few bad experiences at other salons, so I reached out to Ritual for help because they gave be a really cute cut about 5 years ago. I had a consultation with Robin as soon as she was available to explain what I did and we scheduled a follow up when she had a big chunk of time to devote to the task. I could not be happier with the result! My hair is naturally a sort of dull dark brown, but I was a very bright red and needed a lot of custom help getting back to normal. My biggest concern was sustainability, something that I didn't need to touch up every month to cover roots, and my hair is now a beautiful hazelnut brown color which will blend with my natural brown hair perfectly. :) I am mostly impressed by robin's attention to detail and natural instincts. She took the time to evaluate the color at every step to ensure it was transitioning okay. She does great at washing hair too (because honestly that's the most enjoyable part, right? :) ) Overall I was there about 4 hours, and it was the highlight of my week!

Yelp
This place is amazing! I went with MJ, he was recommended to me by a girlfriend who also goes to him... I was fortunate enough to get in with him. He is fantastic! He is also a member of the Ted Gibson Atristic Team, which in itself is an added bonus! Do yourself a favor and visit Ritual Salon! Ask For MJ.

Yelp
This review is loooong overdue. I've been having Shannon cut, color and style my hair for probably over 7 years and that's because I absolutely refuse to let anyone else touch my hair! Shannon is hands down the most amazing, talented hair stylist I have ever known. This woman is truly gifted. Years ago I had several girlfriends whom I would compliment when they were having a "good hair day," and I kept hearing the same response, "Thanks, I saw Shannon today." After much hair envy, I decided I had to meet this Shannon. I was hesitant though because even at the young age of 25 I had already started losing my hair. I was so afraid to go to someone for fear of them butchering what little hair I had. Plus, I was nervous and embarrassed about possibly being "judged" for my unlucky genetic lot in life. I am forever grateful that I got up the nerves to book that first appointment with Shannon because 8-9 years later I still leave her salon chair feeling beautiful. I remember crying tears of joy after my first appointment with Shannon because I couldn't believe what a miracle she had performed cutting and styling my thinning hair. Over the years she continued to impress me with her talents but most importantly she played a huge part in helping me cope with hair loss. When it got to the point where I had to start wearing hair pieces and wigs, once again she came to the rescue and was right by my side. No judgement, just optimism and support. Shannon's positivity, compassion and incredible sense of humor helped me cope with this devastating loss. Without the blink of an eye she took on the extra task of not only cutting a coloring what hair I had left but she even started cutting and styling my human hair wigs and hair pieces! Over the years Shannon has provided me with many different styles and "looks" that were always very flattering to me. Plus, every visit was like a good therapy session/girl time because her outgoing, friendly personality is just absolutely fabulous and infectious! I still continue to be impressed with her hair styling abilities! I recently took her the longest human hair wig I've purchased (for my upcoming wedding) and once again she turned it from plain jane long hair to something you'd see out of a hair commercial! I'm pretty sure at the end of every appointment I look in her mirror and think to myself, "Damn girl, you look goooood!" Lol. Needless to say, this why after all these years she's the only stylist I see. Over the years I have referred many to her, which are now loyal customers as well. Every time I see Shannon I get a boost of self confidence and positivity; and for me, that's more than I could have ever imagined. Being a young woman living with hair loss, I've shed many tears of sorrow and frustration, but thanks to Shannon the only hair related tears shed now are tears of happiness and awe. She pretty much the bomb. She's basically like the "Hair Whisperer" y'all. For real.

Yelp
I always love my hair by Kellie Martin! Outstanding service, social distancing (2500 sq feet & only 5 stylists working at once!), temperature checks, sanitizer, all wearing masks. My quarantine hair had gotten ridiculous & it was nice to have a little normalcy & to feel so safe. I highly recommend Kellie Martin, but I love & trust the salon as well.

Yelp
I have been going to Angela at Ritual Salon for almost 10 years. I typically don't tell people about my stylist because I don't want her to get booked up. So why am I writing a yelp review? Because she is too awesome for me to keep to myself anymore. Angela has put up with my endless random demands for years - I like to change my style and color a LOT. She always tries to understand my vision and make it a reality but she also tells me what's possible with my type of hair (fine and tending towards frizzy). What's also great about Angela is that she really understands the products she uses on you and how they will affect your hair. Over the years, I have learned about so many great products!
google avatar

Katherine M.

Yelp
I had an excellent experience with Angela. I came in with many vague ideas of what I wanted to do with my fried and long-neglected hair. She listened patiently and gave me several options as well as suggestions, which I really appreciated. I came out feeling pampered, with silky, natural-looking color and a great cut. Thank you, Angela - you're a miracle worker!

Yelp
I've been visiting Kellie at Ritual Salon for years now. Ritual Salon is great - the staff is always super friendly, and I love that I can enjoy a mimosa (or two) while being pampered by my favorite stylist. Now Kellie? She's a magician. An artist. A friend. I used to hop from salon to salon just to get a trim or cut, but never again. I'll follow Kellie to the moon if she moves there. She's a master at both the cuts AND color, helping me transform on a whim. We've done basic color correction, purple peekaboo hilights, lowlights, bangs, you name it. I can walk in there and not say a word about what I'm thinking for my hair and she knows. I can say "surprise me" and trust her. I can say "make me blonde" and she'll laugh and say back "i won't do that to you." LISTEN to your stylist folks. Kellie cares. She doesn't want me to look bad and on the flip side, wants me to feel pampered and beautiful, always leaving the salon with a cut that is gorgeous and easy to maintain. If you're looking for a new stylist, consider Kellie! You won't regret it!

Yelp
Ritual Salon is definitely going to be my go-to place for getting my hair done. I originally had an appointment scheduled for 1:00, but was sad when I had to call and cancel because I didn't know how I was going to find another day or time to come back due to my busy schedule. Luckily they were able to reschedule reschedule me for the same day, just a later time! When I arrived the woman at the front showed me the area where I could change into a smock so that I wouldn't get color or hair on my clothes. After that she then brought me some red wine -- which was greatly appreciated considering I had just had a long day at work. My stylist was Lorie (!!) when she greeted me I told her that I wanted my hair to be the same color as my wine. I showed her a few pictures of the cuts and color that I liked and she knew just what to do. The entire experience was very pleasurable plus I came out with literally the best hair cut and color EVER! I really feel like I'm wearing a wig because it's so weird to see me with hair THIS perfect. I highly recommend going to Ritual and seeing Lorie!

Yelp
Receptionist w.what looks like a bunch of dead spiders on her eyes: I don't care how many eyelashes you have since your last weave, you lack due respect for your customers. They were nice the first time, but this ***** ruined it for me. Too bad that this is where the search for pleasing aesthetics gets ruined by staff's atrocious manners.

Yelp
I love this salon. The atmosphere is very nice... modern. Shannon did an awesome job on my hair. It looked amazing, smelled amazing, and felt better than it ever has. I wanted to try daring color. Shannon nailed my purple highlights. The color was dramatic, but classy. I'm so glad I found this salon.

Yelp
I prebooked an appointment on line before coming to Austin for a wedding. I live in Virginia and was worried on doing this plus didn't know how my hair would look from someone I never went too. I also went the day before to prescout out the location from my hotel. I was a little worried because the place didn't look that great on the outside. Anyway, I am so glad that I listened to Yelp because my hair turned out amazing thanks to Lorrie. She and I talked the whole time while she curled up my hair. I got tons of compliments from the other wedding guest and even the bride on my hair.

Yelp
The family's been clients of Bridget for what appears to be eons. When she explained back in April that she'd be taking over Ritual Salon (formerly Salon Bloom) we couldn't be happier. This place is magnificent and fabulous, all at the same time :) Very friendly staff, great ambiance, the best cuts; Hip location. A++ all the way Edit: Ritual Salon & Spa has now been open for a while in their "new" location on Burnet Rd (close to Torchy's Taco). In addition to being in a top notch location they've added a Spa in order to add additional services. Can't say enough about this place. Amazing staff, great owners.

I have been getting my hair done at Ritual for over three years and have seen several stylists there. While each have their own talents, I can always expect a fabulous end result! I recently saw Janelle for the first time since my usual stylist, Liz, left the salon. Wow, is this girl good! Very friendly and sweet and made me feel very comfortable. We had very good conversation and a lot of fun while she balaged my hair. The salon is clean and inviting and the receptionists are always welcoming. I highly recommend this salon!

Do yourslef favor and follow me too cause she knows what shes doing and my hair request are complex af

Yelp
I've been going to Kellie for 7 years now and still love her! As a curly girl, it can be hard to find someone who knows what to do with crazy hair, but I've always walked out of Ritual looking and feeling fabulous. Come in, have a complimentary coffee, tea, soda, or mimosa, then chat with your kind, funny, talented hairdresser, and then walk out with an amazing cut/color! Makes for a great experience every time. I can't recommend Kellie and Ritual highly enough!

Yelp
Came here to get my balayage redone, Andrea did a fantastic job! She even toned my hair in such a way that the purple dye I usually put on top of the bleached balayage would pop. Not only is she great at what she does, she's got a great personality and made 4 hours in the chair fly by. I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I've been visiting this salon for almost a year now. I was originally a client of MJ's and was never informed of his leaving and was placed with another stylist, which was fine, all forgiven. Then I had a family emergency, mother is currently in the hospital and with the rain on top of that decided to call and cancel my appointment in the morning. My appointment was in the afternoon at 4. Yes, I understand the 24 hour appointment policy, but I believe there should be exceptions for family emergencies. I tried to explain, weren't very open to listening, even though I could provide a doctor's note for proof. They were however eager to charge my card. I paid regardless, for not giving 24 hours notice. I guess buyers beware. Kind of ify on the listening / communication skills depending on who you get.

Yelp
I've been coming to Ritual for a few years now. First with a stylist who has since left, and more recently with Andrea. I've come for a basic blunt bob that seems easy but is actually hard to accomplish correctly. I like Andrea's pleasant personality, and I like her work because she's thoughtful and careful, and she actually LISTENS when I say "please don't razor-cut any part of my hair because it's too thin!"---I've been to other stylists who DON'T pay attention when I ask them to please NOT do something! The salon itself is pleasant, not too loud, with wide windows overlooking Burnet Road; the Covid restrictions haven't been too intrusive over the past few months (though I'm now about ready for the mask requirements to be gone). I'd recommend Andrea to anyone.

Yelp
I'm freshly new in Austin and i booked a last minute apt to cut my long hair off, they were able to get me in quick, thank god. My stylist was Kelli and I LOVE HER! She did such a great job on my hair, also I had Taylor do a blowout after Kelli was finished with me and she's FANTASTIC as well. All the staff were friendly and warm welcoming, the salon is so cute. The parking spot is in the back of the salon. Definitely will be coming back again! :)

Yelp
Sarah C. did an incredible job coloring my hair today! I had a tall order, going from red/blond/brown (whatever you want to call that) to a pastel lavender. Obviously, it was a multi-step process, but she whipped through it in just three hours! The bleaching process was quick and painless, and once she put the purple in, she was getting almost as excited as I was to see the final results! Dried it and curled it perfectly, seriously the best after color and/or cut style I've ever had done, and BAM unicorn hair. Just like that. If you are considering getting your hair colored something "unnatural," go see Sarah immediately! She's easy to talk to, fun, efficient, and has obviously worked hard to be as good as she is. If you have any qualms about throwing out the dough to get it done professionally, think about how much healthier your hair will be in the end. Sarah even gave me tips on the upkeep so I can do it myself, which is something a lot of hair dressers haven't done for me because they think that'll make me come crawling back to them for help. Unfortunately, it just makes my hair suffer. I trust Sarah and Ritual, and I will definitely be back!! Ah one last thing! I was nervous because I read the review about the stylists "upselling" cuts to people that only wanted color. Because of this, I went in for a quick consultation where Sarah quoted me a price. She did say that after bleaching it, I would probably want to get a cut, but she didn't say she wouldn't do it without one. If she had, I probably would've listened to her because, surprise, she knows what she's talking about! If you're getting a major coloring done, go see them for a consultation so that you know exactly what to expect. If they dye your hair while it is not in good condition, it is going to make you very sad no matter what color it turns out. As is true with many things in life, don't cut corners chumps!

Yelp
Sarah is a coloring queen! I went in to get balayage and had high expectations (thanks, Pinterest) and she went above and beyond what I wanted. I was super nervous since I went from having really dark brown hair to going balayage, but she made the process super relaxing. All in all, took about two hours, but the time flew with the wine, magazines, and the conversations. This review was long over-due since I've been going to Ritual for a while. The best salon I've been to in Austin (and I'm super picky as I'm from a family of stylists). Very clean, attentive staff, friendly stylists, and great location. Love love love this place and I'm so happy with my new hair. Thank you, Sarah!!

Yelp
Each I arrive at Ritual Salon, the front desk greets me warmly and makes sure that I'm comfortable. My stylist, Gracie is attentive to my questions and always works with me to provide input, while making sure that my idea is followed through upon. My initial appointment with her was for color correction and overall hair "repair" - if you've ever had long hair, extensions and just in general, made poor hair choices - Gracie is the stylist for YOU! She reassured me that we would work together and the results would be amazing & she was right! My color is beautiful and in much better shape than ever before! They also sell a very large variety of products and can give tips for at home care as well! I have already recommended Gracie & Ritual Salon to others and plan to keep on sharing the LOVE! Yelp
I used the new client discount and had an appointment with Robbie. She was amazing! She cut the hair exactly how I want it. Typically stylist have a hard time with my hair because it is so thick. However she did a beautiful job with my medium length hair. She also gave wonderful advice for my hair and taught me how to style it. She was an absolute joy! Will be back.

Yelp
I have been seeing Shannon McClenney for 6 years, now. I've taken my daughter and my mother. I'm never disappointed, and have even told her that she could do whatever she wants with my hair, because I know it will always look good. I even trusted her to cut off 11 inches! She is personal AND professional. The salon is gorgeously designed with a comfortable feel to it. The reciptionists greet you immediately and will off you wine, sparkling wine, sodas, coffee or tea. They use awesome products-Kevin Murphy is my favorite. She has done beautiful ombrés and will let you know what works and doesn't (She refused to put black on my daughter's blonde hair- THANK YOU!!!!). I can't just trust my hair to anyone, so I'm so thrilled to have found Shannon and Ritual! You can't go wrong.

Yelp
First, I should say that I am absolutely obsessed with my hair. It is VERY important to me. It's not a narcissistic thing (at least I hope not), but having a beautiful haircut and highlights makes me feel attractive and confident. So...when I was in the untenable position of finding a new stylist, I was worried. I had no recommendations from friends or colleagues, so I decided to use Yelp to peruse various Austin salons. I wanted to find a highly rated salon and was willing to pay a premium, although I did not want the most expensive place in town. After reading at least a dozen salons and visiting their websites, I settled on Ritual Salon. And I chose to make my appointment with Angela based on the positive reviews of her work. Still, when I arrived at the salon for highlights and a haircut, I was extremely nervous: did I make the right decision? In short, my experience was incredible and left me feeling beautiful and revitalized. I am now a devotee of Ritual Salon and Angela. First, the salon is absolutely lovely, with ambient lighting and a low-energy, calming vibe. The friendly assistant at the front desk immediately offered me a drink. And I only had to wait a few minutes for Angela to greet me. I was glad to see that prior to that, she had been hugging one of her clients goodbye. A good sign. Meeting Angela was a delight. I was instantly put at ease and was happy to see that she had a cool, laid-back and extremely sweet nature. Angela then eagerly welcomed my request for her to view various photographs on my phone of different cuts and highlights I was hoping to achieve. She then took several minutes to comb out my hair and analyze my current cut, color, and health of my hair. Angela proceeded to highlight my hair. During that time, we had a very easygoing conversation and I found her to be funny and interesting. But she never (as some stylists do) talked incessantly or expected me to talk every second. She let me enjoy the experience. After finishing my highlights, I was ready for processing. Angela walked me over to a comfortable chair across the salon where there were a myriad of magazines. She also offered me a beverage while I waited. I was able to close my eyes and relax during the relatively short processing time. And then...there was the shampoo. I cannot adequately describe how amazing that was! Angela spent a great deal of time washing and conditioning my hair, which felt wonderful. She then proceeded to give me an exquisite, relaxing neck and scalp massage. (At that point, I was so relaxed I felt like I had just ingested two glasses of wine!). It was then time for the haircut. Angela did her thing and gave me a lovely, A-line bob haircut just as I had requested. But she also tailored her work to suit my face. She seemed to have an innate sense of what would look good on me. After blow drying my hair and styling it, I felt transformed, beautiful, and new. I was so happy with the result. During the entire process, Angela mentioned the products she was using and why she was using them. But when I checked out at the front desk, she never once pushed me to purchase anything. In fact, knowing I had new products at home, Angela dissuaded me from making any purchases. Instead, she gave me several samples of Kevin Murphy products (I won't even go into how much I love Kevin Murphy!). To sum up this very lengthy review, I had a truly wonderful experience at Ritual Salon and with Angela. I am beyond thrilled to have found a new stylist who I know will both listen to me and use her own instincts to make me look as good as I can. The ONLY caveat to this 5-star review is that I wish the salon had larger smocks. I am a very curvy girl and the smocks were far too small. I have been to other salons and the smocks fit well. I am sure the ones Ritual Salon has will fit most people just fine, but I hope they will purchase a few for us curvy girls :) In short, I hope you will book your next hair appointment with Angela at Ritual Salon. It's a fantastic salon! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I had been browsing through yelp reviews on Nail Salons for weeks since I was getting married. Many places have good reviews, but the bad reviews are horror stories! This place was recommend to me by person who does my hair (at a different place). I trusted her and went for it! I booked with Erin and the service was delightful. The nail/spa area is smaller than expected but cute and intimate. Since it was for my wedding, I was brought my own polish because I was unsure on what shades they would have. Surprisingly, they have a nice selection! Erin was enjoyable to chat with and did a great job. They have lovely scents and when there's an option, they allow you to pick which one! My hands and feet left smooth and looking great! My experience was great and because I enjoyed Erin so much, I do plan on being a returning customer.

Yelp
I stopped in for a cut while in town and was lucky enough to book with Abby Doncaster. Besides my haircut being FABULOUS....it is an absolute delight to be in her chair! After an amazing wash& scalp massage, followed by a perfect cut, Abby gave me great advice on products. She really took her time to get to know just what I needed and wanted. Do yourself a favor and check this stylist and salon out.
