The Colombian Chefs Revitalizing the Country's Food Scene | Condé Nast Traveler

"In Medellín’s Laureles district, this café and roastery works closely with 35 coffee-producing families and anchors them to the urban coffee culture through visits organized via Urban Coffee Tours in La Sierra. The focus is on showcasing high-quality, traceable Colombian coffee while creating direct connections between city drinkers and rural producers, turning a simple café into a gateway for understanding the people and places behind each cup." - Stephanie Rafanelli

Medellín’s Third-Wave Cafes Are Changing the Colombian Coffee Scene | Eater

"A roastery-and-shop operation that sources coffee from about 35 families in La Sierra, pairing a city roasting facility—where staff focus on fermentation and roast profiling—with a retail location in the Laureles neighborhood. The founders were impressed by the unexpected quality of coffee produced inside the city and emphasize the harsh social conditions of nearby producers, many displaced by past violence; their work aims to connect these vulnerable farming families with urban markets and improve livelihoods while showcasing high-quality, locally produced beans." - Liliana López Sorzano

We came here to have coffee and do some work on our laptops. Very quickly, a waitress approached us and told us that this place is NOT a coworking space. I explained that my boyfriend was just ordering coffee for us. She spoke very fast Spanish, did not speak English well, and seemed irritated, then walked away. When my boyfriend came back, she told him the same thing again. He said that he had already read the information downstairs and that it was fine for us — we would of course respect the rules — but she continued explaining it anyway. When the coffee arrived, my boyfriend’s coffee was served in a paper cup, and the water came without glasses. I had to explicitly ask to receive glasses instead of drinking from the bottle. I fully understand if this café is not intended as a coworking space. However, many other guests were sitting with laptops, and it felt like we were the only ones being corrected — and in an unfriendly way, without a smile or any warmth. That seemed rude. Maybe the waitress was having a bad day, but since other reviews also mention unfriendly service, this seems to be a recurring issue. Because of that, we will not return. It’s okay that there are rules such as ordering something every hour or paying to stay longer if you want to work on the laptop, but good service still matters if guests are to feel welcome. In short: nice coffee, but don’t come here with a laptop.

The Café has a coworking antisocial vibe. It's not the most cozy. The Cappuccino is fine, It's very milky which I don't like. I got the local Cake with cheese which I liked. Prices are fair and the service is nice.

We tried two types of beans in filter coffee here. The traditional and the Luz (fruity citrusy) beans. We liked the fruity one but absolutely didn't like the traditional one mostly because the preparation wasn't nice and the coffee seemed burnt. Overall the ambience is good especially on the upper floor and the people are sweet. We got the beans from here too.

The best part of this cafe is the vibe. The coffee is very toasted and bitter. The aesthetics and service though are the best parts.

I really like this cafe. I’ve been here a few times. It’s a nice place to just have a coffee and a chill, or to spend a few hours and do some work on my laptop upstairs ☕️🩷

Great coffee and an awesome space, could sit here for hours. Little breeze bowing thru the upstairs lounge, and great coffee

This used to be my favorite spot in Medellin. Best coffee, the friendliest staff and an amazing atmosphere to get some work done. I don't know what happened, they decided to sponsor a reggaeton artist. Completely changed the vibe of the place with some aggressive green neon lights that makes it very difficult to work on the computer. Bad reggaeton music is blasting out of the speakers. The place seems to be filled with fans of that artist all the time. The result is that it has been impossible to find a seat to get some work done. Once I succeeded in finding a table and the experience wasn't the same. Are you a specialty coffee place, or a reggaeton club? You should not change your identity in a drastic way like this or you will end up losing your regulars. I will still buy their beans to bring back home, but I am very disappointed with the change. Ritualaes was one of the reasons why I visited Medellin. Stick to good coffee, and a cozy co-working atmosphere and kick out the reggaeton and the neon lights.

Only had a flat white but it was the best I have found in colombia so far! Servers were all lovely and it opens just before 8am. Some very interesting decor upstairs where you can read about La Sierra.
