"The fantastic location on the lake is a draw in itself – a spot on the lovely terrace with a view of the water is of course particularly sought after! But the interior of this bright, elegant restaurant inside the hotel of the same name is also appealing – the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake can be opened up. The cuisine is based on classical and international influences, here and there with an Asian touch, and often on regional products. Chic bar and relaxed outdoor lounge." - Michelin Inspector

Such a beautiful location with a very relaxed ambience. The terrace of the Seerestaurant overlooked the lake and was a beautiful setting for supper and breakfast. The selection at breakfast in particular was excellent. Staff were both friendly and very professional. |The roof terrace was the perfect spot for swimming and relaxing with views over the lake. The room was modern, well designed and perfectly quiet with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Perfection!

Some would hesitate to book a 5-star hotel because they believe the atmosphere may be a bit unwelcoming or judgemental, but such is not the case at "RIVA am Bodensee". The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Everyone will do their absolute best to assist you when you arrive and during your entire stay. Peter in the dining area was very helpful, friendly and personable. The staff at the front desk assisted me with some out of the ordinary requests without hesitation. As for the cost, you get what you pay for, and yet this hotel is still quite a bargain. Great atmosphere, great people, great food and drink and a fantastic view. The room was very spacious, modern and air conditioned. We had separate living and sleeping areas, two balconies, a large luxurious bathroom with separate WC. The hotel has elevators to every floor and is equipped with sauna and exercise rooms. A valet parks your car and brings your luggage to the room. It is worth every penny. True, I've never stayed in a 5-Star hotel before (yet many 4-Star stuffy hotels), so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it is fair to say that I was very impressed.

Absolutely love this hotel. We were staying, for the first time, over Christmas the year Covid broke out. It wasn’t a “thing” in Europe at the time, but a distant piece of news and marks our memory in time. We absolutely loved the place and enjoyed the views across the wintery lake and vowed to return. This summer we used the newly improved hotel, with its extensive expansion and modifications, as a stop off on our way to and from Tuscany for a road trip. Eating at Ophelia was a wonderful start to our holiday and at the more casual but very accomplished Seerestaurant on our evening heading home was excellent. The hotel is impeccable, clean, well laid out, friendly and helpful staff, great underground parking, lovely rooftop pool and the the spacious rooms have a luxurious finish and well considered layout, though not all have a lake view. The breakfast is laid out as a buffet with the option to add cooked dishes to order, the waffle sandwich with bacon and maple syrup etc. is incredibly naughty…. and irresistible! I’d like the opportunity to spend a few nights there again, relax and enjoy all the lake has to offer.

Be aware that some of the deluxe rooms do not have outside space. I was vey disappointed to find that my room did not have a balcony to enjoy the lake view despite paying the same (high price) as other rooms in this category that did have outdoor space. The website shows such a room and so is very deceptive. Management could only offer a ‘downgrade’ if I wanted a balcony and were not interested in following up to help overcome my dissatisfaction - not really good enough for this standard of hotel

RIVA, Konstanz — elegant setting, but not quite worth the hype The restaurant is beautifully located right on the lake — serene, stylish, and perfect for a relaxed evening. But the food? A mixed experience. 🌮 Taco with salmon – two tiny tortillas, lovely taste, but the size barely counts as a starter. 🐟 Ceviche – fresh, visually appealing, but flavor-wise… quite ordinary. 🍝 Linguine with lobster – pasta was perfectly al dente, made from quality durum wheat. The lobster itself was beautifully cooked and actually saved the dish, as the sauce lacked depth. 🍮 Crème brûlée – served with strawberries, biscuit, and sorbet. Nicely presented but nothing memorable. 💶 Final bill: €197 for two. ❗ The biggest issue: a real disconnect between portion size, taste, and the price. Visually refined, yes — but overall, overpriced for what it delivers. ✅ Worth a visit once for the view and vibe — but not a place I’d rush back to.

A Culinary Delight From start to finish, my gourmet dinner was exceptional. Every dish was beautifully crafted, with exquisite flavors and top-quality ingredients. The service was flawless, and the ambiance perfect. An unforgettable dining experience—I’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic service and wonderful staff. |We arrived at the hotel and when we were shown to our room there were a few things that were not to our liking. The manager and his colleague immediately set about working out how they could accommodate us to our liking. Within 30 minutes we had been moved to a lovely room which was more than we expected. |We had a lovely lunch on the terrace and friends joined us for an even better dinner at the hotel. |If you want to stay with people that really care for their guests this is the place. |Thank you everyone at Riva.

Yelp
We stayed in this hotel for a night during our Mercedes European Delivery trip and this was our favorite hotel. It is rated 5 stars but the price is comparable to 4 or 3.5 stars in US so it was a good value. The room was spacious, elegant, relatively new, has ocean view. Hotel offers bike rental. I got a regular bike and my wife got an electric bike. We went around Konstanz. In town, there were lots of sidewalk cafes and shops with old town / European feel. The weather was perfect in the afternoon (end of March). On way to/from town, you ride by the sea. It would've been nice to stay a day more. Buffet breakfast in an elegant setting with picturesque ocean views - cappuccino and made-to-order omelette are included.
