River City Wood Fire catered our wedding and they were all exceptional in every way! The food was outstanding and got great reviews by our guests. Joe was extremely accommodating from the tasting, through our communications, to the day of. He truly went above and beyond on the day of. He tracked us down during photos to make sure we got to eat some delicious apps. During the reception he noticed the kids table hadn't been fed and were getting antsy so he whipped up some cheese pizzas and hand delivered them! He ensured we were sent away with extra pizzas so we had something to eat afterwards. We literally drove away from the wedding raving about the food. A genuine thank you to Joe and his staff for making us feel confident, comfortable, well-fed and truly special in every interaction. Highly recommend.

Delicious and staff was super nice. Got 2 gluten free pizzas, 1 regular pizza, and buffalo wings. They also gave us their new chips for free ¨̮. Wings were my favorite but the pizzas were great too! Can’t go wrong with any of it!

We were so fortunate to have Joe Lajoie and his River City Wood Fire Pizza truck at my daughter's rehearsal dinner two weeks ago. Everything was amazing as usual. The pizza of course is awesome but the service was top notch and so much fun. If you are looking for something unique and superb for a catering event, then I cannot imagine you finding a better option than Joe and his team. thank you so much for starting our blissful weekend. I know the Powhatan location has recently closed, but you get them at your event any way you can.

This might be some of the best pizza I’ve eaten since moving to Richmond. The crust and dough is another level. I would just eat it plain or maybe just with a little olive oil. My partner never eats his crust and I was hoping that would be the case today so I could, the toppings were fresh incredible and yummy. This place is in the middle of nowhere in a gasoline station. My biggest complaint besides location was I asked for a glass of water and they only sold bottled water for two bucks but the pizza was so yummy. Maybe it’s good that it’s so far away so I can’t get it all the time, it is worth the drive. The inside is very small with only a couple tables and a bar. There is no beer. It would taste so good with a good beer. but the pizza was so good.

After having River City Wood Fire at my brother's rehearsal dinner, I knew exactly who I wanted to cater my wedding! The pizza and apps are amazing of course, but it's Joe and his Team that make them one of a kind. Joe went out of his way to bring my husband and I apps and drinks while taking pictures, and even took some time to chat with us. They were also able to accommodate a last minute request to make a dairy free/meat free pizza for a guest who unexpectedly got Alpha-gal syndrome. I can't say enough great things about River City Wood Fire - guest are still raving about their food and service. Can't wait to have their pizza again!

We had River City Wood Fire cater our wedding and it was one of the best decisions from the whole day. We knew we didn't want "traditional" wedding food. Our tasting with Joe was incredible. He was so personable and generous and I think we went home with about 7 free pizza pies. The appetizers were to die for and something our guests still talk about. River City Wood Fire catered our small outdoor wedding and it was a huge hit!! The pizza was phenomenal and we have been enjoying leftovers for day after they sent us on our honeymoon with tons of pizzas. The personalized wood pizza peel was an awesome touch. Highly recommend!

At the recommendation of many friends we tried River City Wood Fired Pizza in Powhatan for the first time tonight (Super Bowl Sunday) and it was great! I ordered the “Scott’s Edition” bbq chicken pizza and it was excellent. (I ate the entire thing, something I never do so that says a lot!) It could have used more toppings & chicken but the taste was great. My husband had the Roy-al which is pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and he really enjoyed it but did say it was a little spicy for him so he would opt for something else next time. (For reference, he doesn’t handle any amount of spice well so I would not let that deter you unless you are “weak” in that sense.) The pizza was easy to order online and easy to pick up at the store. The pizza is a little pricier given the size (we got a 10 inch and 14 inch) but given the taste I imagine the ingredients are better quality and command a premium. We would definitely order again.
