"This 36-room riverfront hotel, which opened its doors in 2020, sits in idyllic New Hope, Pennsylvania. The town, easily accessible from both New York City and Philadelphia, is known for its antique shops and a burgeoning LGBTQIA+ scene. The hotel pays homage to French-American actor Odette Myrtil, who ran a cabaret restaurant called Chez Odette on the site of the hotel. The property features a vibrant piano lounge with live music and a 1970s-inspired rooftop bar offering unobstructed views of the Delaware River. (Hotel guests can access the otherwise members-only bar with a special key.) One T+L reader said River House at Odette’s is “beautifully decorated, professionally staffed, and the atmosphere is over the top.” In fact, this particular reader was “so impressed with [the] staff, location, and overall beauty” that they chose the property for their daughter’s wedding reception." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"My fiancé and I arrived at the River House at Odette’s, in New Hope, Pennsylvania, on a Saturday afternoon, just before sunset—and I doubt we could’ve timed it more perfectly. The 36-room hotel, which opened in late September last year, sits right on the Delaware River; and as we made our way onto the balcony of our suite, the shoreline across the river in Lambertville, New Jersey, began to glow wildly with the day’s last light. It was just the sort of change of scenery we’d been craving after long days holed up in our apartment. The next morning, we meandered out of our cozy hotel room for a snowy walk along the riverbank (with a detour to town, with stops at curio shops like the quirky Celt-Iberia Traders and Fred Eisen Leather). We returned with just enough time to cozy up by the fireplace before heading to Roof, the hotel’s guests-only bar and restaurant, for a swanky dinner: a shellfish platter—mussels dressed in a light, mustardy sauce, plump shrimp, and cherry-red lobster tail—followed by an impressive plate of lamb chops on a bed of creamy spinach. We left the hotel (or waddled out, really) the next day, our appetites—and our desperate need for a bright new view, however fleeting—totally sated."

Had a nice one night stay. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean. Great location close to town. If you don’t feel like walking they offer a shuttle ride. Had dinner on the rooftop. Great view and food. Highly recommend this place and splurge for the river side ! Will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic experience at The River House at Odette’s in New Hope, PA. Every employee we interacted with was polite, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The building and common areas are beautifully maintained, with a great design and relaxing vibe that made the whole experience feel special. Our room was just as expected, comfortable, well-designed, and a perfect place to unwind. The only minor issue was that the shower sprayer wasn’t working, but it really didn’t impact our stay at all. For me, the highlight of the visit was definitely the restaurant. Our server was outstanding, and the bartender even crafted a couple of custom drinks we requested for us, which was a nice touch. The food was absolutely amazing, and we capped the night off with one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. The location is perfect, just a short walk to great shops in New Hope and an easy stroll to cross the bridge to New Jersey. As a added bonus they also offer a complimentary shuttle and have bikes available, though we didn’t take advantage of those this time. All in all, The River House at Odette’s is a fantastic place to visit, stay, and dine. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with great food and service.

Google
Birthday trip with wife was amazing here, rooms were very nice only flaw would be the drain for the shower and the design of the shower having no lip to contain water. Therefore the whole bathroom floor would get soaked. Room service was great, restaurant was beautiful but would not recommend the lobster roll everything else we ate was great. Overall would recommend especially if your couple just wanting to get away from the busy life.

My wife and I planned a one-night getaway at The River House, and it was absolutely perfect. We booked the Romance Package, which included beautiful roses on the bed and a box of delicious local chocolates—such a thoughtful touch! Our room was stunning, with modern amenities and an incredible view overlooking the river. One of the highlights was the rooftop restaurant, where we enjoyed a perfectly cooked steak and top-notch cocktails. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, and the staff was incredibly professional and attentive. The valet service was seamless, taking care of parking our Tesla and even charging it overnight. The attention to detail throughout our stay was impeccable. From the modern bathroom to the overall ambiance, everything exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway, The River House is a must-visit. We can't wait to return!

Google
Lovely setting, with some alluring views. Nicely appointed rooms and interior design. But overall, my take away was this hotel is over-rated and over-priced. Food was unremarkable, and wildly overpriced for the inconsistent service and quality of the meals. Eggs overcooked at breakfast, food arrived over an hour late for a private party, and just terrible customer service at the management level. Perhaps most importantly, when you are billing yourself as a luxury hotel, having rooms that don’t vibrate with the wedding music below and don’t smell like fried food from the kitchen below should be a basic thing to get right. When you get that wrong, offering an apologetic tone and a meaningful compromise should be easy. Unfortunately, the River House didn’t get either of these right and seemed surprised at our complaint - as if no one had ever had such an unfortunate experience (read the reviews, wish we had). They offered a slight discount on our room rate but were far from friendly. Had we not been participating in a friend’s 50th party we would have left rather than stayed the night. Would not return, would not recommend.

Google
We stayed in the river view suite . The room had a warm, modern decor with a cool view of the river from a tiny balcony . The bed was very, very soft and lumpy . A deal breaker for us ,or anyone with a bead back . Although we had a kithchen, with an oven and lots of drawers , there was nothing to use . No dishes , no glasses , silverware etc . The two wine glasses where a joke . I expect cheap stemware in my room, but these actually felt like plastic . I respectfully suggest you spend a few bucks in a 700 dollar a night suite and provide a more welcoming stocking of the room ,to include a couple of real coffee mugs . My wife is smart and could not figure out the coffee maker . Has anyone ever considered instructions ?? I can see why there are so many average reviews . You can do better

As a vendor ( I do makeup and hair), I have been to many places, and this one is so far my favorite to work in. The rooms are styled beautiful , parking is easy , so much light and beautiful views. Of course, the famous tulip wall paper and all the art in the rooms and outside. I never had a bride who was disappointed with this place. And I think it's a great and beautiful overall.

I recently had a dinner here, I just want to say it was amazing they went above and beyond to make me feel welcome the food was fantastic. To add on I was leaving and to be honest a little tipsy and tripped and fell outside. A young man came running up and helped me up made sure I was okay his name was Jimmy. He offered me a seat and a bandaid he waited with me until I was okay to walk. Thank you Jimmy you were the cherry on top!

Yelp
Don't come to the River House at Odette's if you like the taste of your food, if you expect timely or friendly service or for staff who have the tiniest bit of care in their demeanor or attitude. However, if you are in the Bucks County area and are tired of the ho-hum chain hotels in Yardley, etc, the River House does have one major selling point, the water. If you like water, you'll love the River House. From the River that gives it the name and the accompanying trail, to the amazing, and hot, shower, with three different settings, to Acqua Panna, chilled to the perfect temperature, throughout the facility. This place has potential.

Yelp
Welcomed so wonderfully in the car park, up the elevator to the reception. Reception is for the hotel . And so many yards away is the hostess reception for the restaurant . The paintings are so lovely and they're of this area ! My favorite one is the one with posing with her friends together in the former Odette's building . So very charming. I loved the Nakashima wooden table that Odette painting . I'm smitten. The views along the Delaware river facing New Jersey are so exquisite! We reserved a table! We ended up at a lovely table that became available outside overlooking the beautiful water and nature. It was a perfect day the most perfect weather. My server was Shelby. She really was so magnificent and really marvelously attentive. Wonderful suggestions. I ordered the za'atar haddock with potatoes and peaches and asparagus. It was so beautiful and it was so delicious and so flavorful. I got the butter cake with blueberries for dessert and it was so amazing and so delicious. Beautiful and fresh! I had such a lovely time and I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Such a cute spot for a weekend away! I love all of the history surrounding this hotel and it's just a short walk into town! Gorgeous views of the river from my room, lots of natural light and awesome coffee/espresso in the room! The restaurant is great and they have bikes to borrow which is great to get around town! Highly recommend!

Yelp
2023, my first time brunching at River House at Odette's, a beautiful day for alfresco dining. Attentive service and nice menu selection, the lobster roll

Chrissy K.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance and views. I love the filet mignon French dip. Service is always great too

Yelp
Loved my first experience here. Now you'll pay a bit of a premium, but for the ambiance at a rooftop hotel bar that just comes with the territory. The views of the Delaware River are amazing. The drinks were very good, and those Caesar truffle parm fries are arguably the best fries I've ever had, and that's a huge statement. Holy crap they're amazing! Our bartender Kate was incredibly sweet, down to Earth, and just fun to talk to. Only open to hotel guests and members, but this place is worth a visit.

Yelp
This review is ONLY for a brief stop to view the restaurant & have mimosas. Since it's opening, I have been anxious to dine at The River House restaurant at this landmark location. A friend and I were in the area today (Saturday afternoon), so we decided to pop-in for mimosas and a peak at the restaurant with its river views. We pulled up for Valet parking (if a self/park option was available, we didn't see it). We took the elevator to the first floor and friendly reception staff greeted us, showing us to the bar. Since the bar area was pretty full, we were seated at a table nearby. We had dined elsewhere earlier for lunch, but asked to see menus to review for a future dining excursion. The menus (lunch, brunch & dinner) all looked good with plenty of classic choices. We ordered our mimosas, which were brought to us without a napkin or coaster. The first thing my friend noticed was that her glass was not poured to the top. It was a low pour (maybe 2 inches down from the rim of the glass). Mine glass was a bit more full but still a little low. What I noticed was the sickly pale orange color of the drink. Like a bit of Tang or Orangina had been used instead of orange juice. The taste was very disappointing - akin to a free mimosa you might get with brunch at a cheap restaurant. When asked, the waiter informed us that the mimosa was made with Prosecco not champagne. Wish he had mentioned they didn't use orange juice, either. We had been prepared to have a few drinks, but decided one was enough. The river views are nice. The restaurant is nice, despite the most oddly eclectic interior decoration I have seen since the 70s. (No, it did not appeal to me). My friend asked if we needed to have our Valet Parking ticket validated. At which time we were informed that that was a separate operation (fee). Soooo BEWARE. We were out before 5 pm, so only had to pay $5 for parking. Evening parking is $20! With tip and tax, our bill was $38 (mimosas were $15 each). Parking was $8 ($5 + $3 tip). So our impromptu decision to stop for mimosas cost us $46. If they were good, I wouldn't be complaining. I'm complaining. DINER BEWARE: That $20 parking fee on a pricey dinner out is going to sting if you don't see it coming, MANAGEMENT: You should rethink your parking fee for diners.

Yelp
I enjoyed my dinner at River House at Odettes. We went to celebrate my friends birthday. The food was fresh, and tasty. I tried their dirty chai martini, which was good. The highlight for me was the strawberry tres leches cake. They put a candle on the cake for my friend, and sang happy birthday. It was sweet. I recommend getting that and the crab cakes. We also tried the calamari was delicious too.

Yelp
We are still on cloud nine, after celebrating the marriage of our daughter, this past weekend. If perfection existed, we experienced it. The hospitality shown to our guests, was very welcoming and they are raving about their stay. The wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were more than we hoped for. The wait staff especially Christine, our valet, Andy, banquet manager, Owen and wedding coordinator, Isabel, ensured a flawless celebration. You will be seeing many guests again, and it is now a favorite of the bride and groom. Thank you, to everyone at The Riverhouse, who assisted us in any way. We are very grateful for the memories of celebrating the marriage of these two wonderful people.

Yelp
I expected better service. I had my wife's 50th birthday at a private room in the hotel. I also rented 7 very expensive rooms for my wife's family and my wife and I stayed in their high end guest house suite. The good: The location is amazing ;(on river, easy walk to town) , the hotel is beautiful, the rooms were beautiful (amazing river views with balcony) and clean with nicely decorated. The bad They don't seem to care if you come or care about you when you are there. Trying to get info from them while planning my party was like pulling teeth. They changed event planner on me mid planning as well. They never told me the suite was not in the hotel. Then they didn't even help us bring our luggage The party and food servers to us at the private room was meh I would have paid any amount for the best and it just wasnt available. The hotel was full and it's like they just don't care. Here I spent 5 figures only to be basically ignored. Not good enough.

Laurie S.

Yelp
Great restaurant, picturesque views and wonderful rooms, however the service was underwhelming. The check-in process was slow and you had to wait a long time until your room was ready. It also took hours to retrieve my bag. I stayed three nights and when I got back to my room at the end of a long day, I saw my room had not been cleaned. It would not have been a huge issue, had they provided me enough towels in the first place. All three nights I had only 1 hand towel, 1 bath towel and no washcloths. Additionally, I was told that the staff focuses on new guests and that I would get new towels during the turn down at 6pm. I never had anyone return to the room to provide this service. Thiis a high priced boutique hotel that provided sub par service. Although it is in a great location and it's very swanky, the service would have been better at most other hotels.

Karen P.

Yelp
Could be great! However more servers and bartenders are needed. We waited almost thirty minutes for drinks! Server was very pleasant, we liked her. Wedge salad was large and delicious. Crab cakes definitely don't recommend. Veal Parmesan, very good. Don't go hungry or thirsty! Definitely hope it improves.

Yelp
We were a party of 5 that dined after a matinee at the playhouse. Our reservation was at 4:30 pm. We were told the lunch menu ends at 4 and dinner doesn't begin until 5. It would have been helpful if we were given this info when we called for the reservation. We were given a lite fare menu and told that was all we could order from. We decided to wait so we could order from the dinner menu. The server, although very sweet, hovered. He was at the table every couple of minutes asking for our order and it was uncomfortable. We finally ordered and one dish was completely wrong. (The food was very good by the way; giving credit where due.) So it was taken back but the rest of the party was finished eating by the time it came out. When the bill came both the correct and incorrect meals were charged. When we brought it to his attention we were told it was an oversight because we had ordered the wrong item . There were also multiple flies flying around our table which was off putting. When we mentioned it, we were met with a scowl. No compensation was made for the fact that one diner had to wait so long then eat after others were finished. I should mention there were so many staff around the restaurant and, because it was relatively early, the dining room was mostly empty. I am not one to complain as I have a family member in the industry. I know how hard the profession is. However , these were fairly small issues that could have been easily rectified rather than having us leave with a proverbial bad taste In our mouths.

Sheila L.

Yelp
I took my boss there for brunch, we had a great time and the brunch was great! our waitress, Mickey was the best and was very attentive. The atmosphere and view of the Delaware was beautiful! I will be back soon!

Fay G.

Yelp
My husband and I just came back from a one night away from the kids trip to New Hope and stayed at the River House. The room was lovely and well-appointed with nice touches like high end bath products and nice robes. The art deco vibe throughout the hotel is very cool and really created a unique boutique hotel feel. We were greeted by Deone at the front desk upon check in. She was absolutely lovely and provided us with lots of helpful information and suggestions for our stay. We mentioned that it was our 10th anniversary, and a few minutes after entering our room, a box of truffles from Pierre's and a hand-written card was delivered. That thoughtful touch was very much appreciated. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we did have drinks at both Roof and the bar at Odette's. A little high, but it's a hotel- slightly inflated prices are to be expected. There is a beautiful outdoor space at Roof that has a fireplace and lovely river views, but it was a bit cold last night. It would be perfect to have a drink out there earlier in the fall or in the spring. There are mixed reviews on here in terms of service, but we found everyone to be lovely, accommodating and thoughtful. Special thanks to Deone for making us feel so welcome!

Lee T.

Yelp
Will never go back. Over priced and the employees are rude. worst experience ever. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

Mary C.

Yelp
the service was great. I have had tastier food at a less expensive price.. plenty of places. crab cakes were cold and all filler. truffle Mac and cheese tasted like plastic. salad was over dressed and over sauced. I had high hopes but all in all I would say skip it and save your money!

Addison P.

Yelp
No wait for our reservation, which was the best part of our experience. Waited nearly 40 minutes just to have our drink order taken. Rushed us to get our appetizers and meals in while taking our drink order. Food was OK, nothing to rave about or to get us to come back, not worth the prices. Staff seemed disorganized and couldn't answer simple questions. We've had better experiences at other restaurants in New Hope.

Leslie B.

Yelp
This review is overdue but I wanted to comment how wonderful the hotel and staff were at the River House at Odette's. My son got married May 21 and the staff, facilities and food were outstanding! The staff truly made the weekend special and the facilities were fabulous. Sara, our wedding coordinator, was attentive to every detail and always accessible. She made us feel we were the only guests she needed to attend to. During the weekend, she made sure every event ran smoothly. We had four events at River House at Odette's. The Welcome Party we had for those staying out of town was lovely. We had the second floor suite in the Guest House. It was casual, but, the ambience was perfect with the large patio overlooking the river and spacious living area. The staff that brought our food were professional and gracious. We also had the tea ceremony in our suite. We had unusual requests to help with the tea ceremony and the service staff couldn't have been more accommodating The wedding ceremony and reception were just perfect. The attention to detail, the quality of the food and again, the staff really were terrific. Some of my friends commented on how they felt they were eating at a restaurant rather than a catered affair because individual requests were not only attended to but followed up on. I was also impressed that when I wanted to repurpose the flowers from the wedding reception for the brunch the next day that my request was followed up on. We had a breakfast buffet for our guests the morning after the wedding reception. It was a wonderful way to end the weekend. The food was delicious, the staff was great and the scenery was beautiful. They have heaters on the patio so we were able to enjoy the early morning breakfast. Everyone from the parking attendants, to the front desk, the staff of the catering department and the maintenance staff made our son and now daughter in law's wedding perfect. I would highly recommend The River House at Odette's

Heather L.

Yelp
We ate on the roof top here. My girlfriend has a membership. I have been here a couple of times and it's always fantastic. But tonight the service was absolutely horrible.. our waitress threw our check at us and was so unbelievably rude. You would think for a rooftop membership you would get treated better.

Liz B.

Yelp
I was fairly stubborn in refusing to dine at Odette's, considering myself staunchly on the side of the 'lil guy, the small 'mom & pops' and one-off establishments that make New Hope and Lambertville unique. But my feline nature reared up and the curiosity started gnawing at the back of my mind. The Odette's valet was very courteous and friendly - downright chipper, actually. He even offered to wipe down the front of my interior because I didn't shut my window all the way and some rain got in. I apologized as I exited the vehicle, and he offered. Was a nice touch. And for someone with a '13 Elantra, that felt bourgeoise in a good way. Heheh. The interior design is what was meant as a thoughtful mix of contemporary, mid-century, and farmhouse. Sounds like an odd mix but it works; at least for now. For a restaurant with high traffic, the surfaces seem to lend themselves well to frequent cleaning - and clean they did. At no point during my wait did I not see a human cleaning *something* - from the bannisters to chair rails to surfaces of side tables. That in itself made me feel comfortable in this COVID-era. The lighting is warm and inviting on a gloomy day, but I could easily see how vibrant it would feel at night. That being said, this place really is unique. Airy. Well-lit. Friendly. I had checked out the menus online before leaving the house. The drink prices are outrageous, but you're not paying for the peach schnapps in your Bellini - you're paying for the service, the friendly tone, the feeling you're supposed to gain by the sheer experience of arriving. The food listed on the breakfast and brunch menus weren't as ground-breaking as I had imagined, with all of the build-up and the constant promotion of the luxe-ness of it all. As Peter Griffin would say, it insists upon itself. So we opted to wait for lunch, and we were pleased with that choice. I can't complement our server highly enough. Jesse, who only just started serving two weeks ago, started here as a busser four months ago. This charming lad had a great sense of humor, about the music, the COVID restrictions, the menu, etc. He has one of those effortless-banter types of personalities that make diners feel at ease, and he will do well if he stays in this industry. He even alerted us that he overcharged us by accident for the parking, noting that arrivals before 3PM are $5 instead of the usual $20. I had already tabbed out but he had a manager override it because he didn't want us overcharged. Little things like that matter, particularly when two parties had two cars involved, and for an establishment as unabashedly pricey as this. My friend had the Short Rib au-jus sandwich ($18), and I had the Lobster Roll ($22) with a side salad. Both dishes were pristine (and hers had their famous truffle fries, which were wonderful - not too heavy on "canned" truffle flavor). The salad, which was underdressed, was the perfect backdrop to the lobster salad, as I'm trying to be carb-conscious these days, and I scooped most of the lobster onto said salad. We opted for sugar-friendly maritinis with fresh lime as opposed to the cocktails listed on the menu - all looked amazing, but most heavy on the sugar. The drinks are what kill ya, price wise. We were full and pleased and loving all the things - our great meal, lovely river view, and lively server, as well as the fairly empty dining room. Would we go every weekend? No. Will it stay in my mix? Yes.

Kate M.

Yelp
So, so disappointed. We'd wanted to try the new Odette's for a long time and finally planned a family dinner there when all of our adult kids were home for the holidays. First, there was a very limited menu vs the dinner menu shown in the website. They'd excluded probably my top 3 choices, with no sides listed either. So I ended up with a Caesar salad plus shrimp. For $7, I only got 2 (yes, two) shrimp! And they'd originally brought the wrong salad and when they rushed to fix it (how hard is that) they forgot the Parmesan cheese. On the positive, they saved me calories for more Xmas cookies. The deviled eggs were good. Everything is so expensive there... I'd expected more. In no hurry to go back.

Tim O.

Yelp
Totally enjoyed this place the location is spectacular. The food is great! Ambar was our server and totally pleasant and patient. They have live music every night.

Margery C.

Yelp
This beautiful place on the Delaware River, the food was shameful. Service was very good. We were there with a small group to celebrate a birthday. The birthday boy liked his meal, the rest of us didn't eat. Why build a beautiful place with bad food? Have drinks there for the view, then go some place else for dinner.

M J.

Yelp
We were guests at a wedding in the fall and stayed for two nights. Had much higher expectations for food and service here, but frankly they fell a bit flat. Pros: - Modern rooms with ample space to get ready. Loved that there was a large long mirror and plenty of room in the bathroom. - Beautiful views and enough common spaces inside and outside. Cons: - Rooftop has odd hours and is completely overpriced for the quality of food and drink they are serving. - Meals were mediocre at best. - I hesitate to mention service given the pandemic, but all points of service were fall below expectations. - Valet - tons of valet attendants but very poor organization and oversight. They cause backups and traffic jams for no reason. I might come back here for a very lazy weekend but go offsite for all meals.

Yelp
What is there not to love about this beautiful boutique hotel with its well-appointed restaurant and lounge right on the beautiful Delaware River. Its design sets a new standard in many ways. Unfortunately, Odette's kitchen did not get the memo. Having experienced other Premier properties, we had looked forward to having lunch at the River House in anticipation of future overnight getaways. But the lack of attention to food prep has given us pause. The menu was spot on, but really? The small portions of chicken breast used in two of the dishes ordered was pre-cooked, extremely dried out and surprisingly cold. Accompanied by standard frozen french fries and a sad looking pickle wedge reminded me of a two-star diner. Fortunately, there's always the river view.

We came here for dinner on my bachelorette in new hope and had an excellent experience! Every appetizer and entree was better then the next. I'm still dreaming of that cornbread! The design of the restaurant is great, the service was excellent and the views were gorgeous.

Yelp
Beautiful Hotel with lovely furnishings. Service lovely including the Valet service. The night that I was there, the bartender was dull but wait staff was kind and helpful. Great location.

Yelp
The worst. Terrible customer service. Not worth your money. A cheap motel dressed up, in my opinion.

Yelp
I am just revising my review based upon speaking with the manager they gave me a 50% credit for all the inconvenience. It should have been a full refund but at least they met me half way.

Yelp
On a positive note, the building & location are very well done, except you need to fix the first floor door issue that opens out to a very narrow walkway so one can not get by unless you walk past the door and then open it. Now the restaurant...First, our server spent at least 10 minutes chatting with people at a table and walking away before returning & stating "I did not know you were my table" I am sorry, but if that server had worked for my first chef I apprentice with, they would have been give their walking papers, ....where was the management directing staff? On to the food....cheese board...are you kidding me? Kraft cheddar cheese, supper market brie & a goat cheese....was that really goat? And they bring out enough to feed 4 people....It was only for myself & my wife. I would rather have had less cheese of better quality. What about some of the wonderful local cheese companies....Bobolink, or Jasper Hill for REAL Vermont cheddar. I ordered the Short Rib Lollipop...nice presentation....short rib meat wrapped & tied around a pork rib bone. Tender, but dry. Why wasn't the braising liquid reduced and included in the presentation? I had to wash it down with wine because of the dryness. My wife's shrimp gratin was Welsh Rarebit on toast with shrimp added....and I have had much better Welsh Rarebit. I could go on, but to say, we will not come again, with so many better and wonderful restaurants in the river towns of NJ & PA. Not a way to celebrate our anniversary that should have had a wonderful memory of wonderful food & wine. Oh, I didn't say anything about the wine...as my mother told me, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything....do I ever listen?

Yelp
BEWARE OF BANQUET MANAGER OWEN! 5/25/23 I was attending the weekend wedding of my nephew last weekend. It was Sunday during the reception about 11:00 pm at the ballroom when I needed to go to the bathroom. I left the room and asked the bartenders where I could find a bathroom. They directed my saying around the corner and two doors down. When I got to the mens room it was dark and the door was overlaid with plastic sheeting so I couldnt see the sign marking the mens room when a metal object hit my forehead fairly hard. Since I needed to go pretty badly I proceeded anyway. The room was lighted and a young woman was in the room mopping. I told her that I needed to go and she suggested The stalls rather than the urinals and I agreed assuming that she would vacate the room and returm shortly thereafter, When I opened the stall a man was blocking the exit positioned (at 6'4" so that I had to cross him at close proximity). I went to the basin a began washing my hands when he abruptly began hasseling me. "Didn't you see the sign " he said no I said but that must have been what hit me in the head I responded. "Wht are you using this bathroom he asserted "because your bartenders told me to do so I replied. He went on and said why did I treat his worker so salatiously to which I said that I asked her if it was okay to use the facilities and she recommended the use of the stall with its closed doors to which he said that she told him otherwise. My comments are where is the hospitality management here. Why am I being assaulted by this stupid manager. Where is the discipline with this company. I have called to speak with someone but noone even returns my calls over the past 4 days. I am greatly insulted and needed to let people know how badly rum the hotel really is! I just got back from three weeks at a JW Marriott in Bangkok where hospitality is remarkable and they subscribe to do whatever makes the customer happy. Own should repremanded for abusing a customer. Yelp
I use to work on the roof as a dishwasher and let me say, the chefs here do not care about putting out good food. Also, I have epilepsy and a piece of equipment fell on me causing me to have a seizure. No one called an ambulance even though I could have had bleeding in the brain. They left me there to seize. then HR called me asking me not to sue. A few weeks after that due to the heavy equipment falling on me I had another seizure and I was cleared to come back to work and they wouldn't let me come back. my boss said I was a liability. These chefs don't care about putting out good food, HR is a mess.. take your business elsewhere believe me. Kitchen is a mess as well.

Yelp
Went to a wedding there recently and the banquet staff was amazing! 100% recommended for any event!

Yelp
This was our second visit to Odette's and we were hoping it would have been much improved from our first visit. Sadly they still are having issues and we left somewhat disappointed. The Good: The location. You can't beat the view of the river and the space is beautiful. The staff was also very friendly and professional but they seemed spreed to thin and need more staff. The bad: They still are deeply struggling with the bar and getting wine up from the wine cellar in a timely manner. We ordered an expensive bottle of red wine to go with our entrees once our apps were served. no wine until to half way through our entrees. This is completely not ok. If you're going to spend over $100 on a bottle of wine you want to be able to actually enjoy it WITH you meal! The food was also just ok. My parents had the mussels and the seafood platter which they enjoyed. My onion soup was just ok. The broth was a little bland and the onions not as caramelized as they could have been and the cheese was also somewhat bland. My father and I had the duck. It was fairly fatty and needed some kind of sauce of something to give it some flavor. It was also overly salty. For the price point I expected something more memorable. I'm surprised the menu hasn't changed since we were here in October. With the amazing farms in the this area I'm completely shocked that they are not using all the fresh, local and SEASONAL options in the region! No specials or anything like that. With all of the amazing restaurants in New Hope/Lambertville this place really needs to up their food game. Finally, as others have said it is completely absurd and insulting to have to pay $20 to valet your car when you have no other option and you've just spent over $400 on dinner. It makes guests feel taken advantage of and leaves a horrible taste in ones mouth as they leave as their last impression of the restaurant. Sadly, unless I hear that the food program has been completely revamped I'm not sure its worth our time or money to try this place again.

Yelp
Awesome structure...beautiful views...good service. They need a new chef as the food was very average and this place needs an impressive food experience to complement the place itself. Good for a date and a few cocktails...

Yelp
Four of us went for dinner. The building and location are beautiful. While we don't mind paying $40-50+ for entrees, the food did not match the prices. Cornbread was *very* dry. A $48 filet requested at medium was most definitely medium well. The sauce and pasta on the chicken parm dish lacked flavor. $52 for 4 scallops (cooked well!) with *meager* offerings of the sweet potato mash. Was most disappointed to retrieve the car afterwards and learn that it was $20 to park; absolutely not mentioned upon arrival & a real disappointment after food that did not match prices. Valet pointed to a small, faintly fonted sign in the distance that listed the price. Would go back for a drink outside but likely not to dine.

Yelp
Eric was a fantastic bartender and was extremely helpful! He recommended great apps and great drinks as well, will be returning!

Yelp
We went for a birthday lunch on April 26, 2022 and started with the bourbon bash & a beer to celebrate. 20 minutes later when our drinks didn't arrive, the waitress appeared issuing an apology & explaining that the bartender had taken a phone call causing the delay. Just after our meals arrived, the fire alarm went off. No one seemed to know what to do and there were only 3 other occupied tables. Finally the other waiter came in & said everyone has to go outside. After a few mins when the alarmed ceased, I said lets return to our table. The waitress again returned apologizing & to say the laundry had been steaming table cloths setting off the alarm. There was no offer to replace our cold food. A couple at one table left after their salads. When we finished, we were asked about dessert & encouraged to try the homemade sorbet. We ordered it but waited again over 20 minutes. When she returned, I asked if they were busy churning it! She looked puzzled. It was NOT very good and I suggested she try the sorbet at a restaurant "down the road". She heartily agreed they have good food! Ck time: I did overhear the waiter offer 2 other tables a discount on their parking because of the alarm, but since we did not park in the garage we were not offered any concession for the botched birthday lunch. Still we gave over a 20% tip because that's who we are....VERY expensive lunch where we were SO inconvenienced. We did agree that it was not a place we'd return.

Yelp
We made reservations three weeks in advance. Seems like you need to have reservations way ahead of time. It is a new restaurant that just opened up recently. Our dinner was just average. Service was fantastic. The atmosphere was really nice and everyone was friendly. I'm sure during the day it will be even nicer overlooking the river. We had steaks and scallop dish (only 3 scallops for $40) along with some appetizers. Food was three out of five stars. Drinks were very expensive. $15 for a Moscow Mule. Our meal was $420 with tip for four people. We each had 3 drinks. Very expensive and they charge for valet parking. Disappointing for the price.

Yelp
A true gem in New Hope. High energy & beautiful setting. Staff very friendly and helpful. Some still need training to be truly professional but this is a fairly new place & they at least have good attitudes which is a great start. Our martinis were cold. Had a very nice bottle of Chablis with dinner. Nice extensive list. We enjoyed a filet & a seafood dish. I do agree with former reviewers do not charge for valet when it's the only option. Most guests will happily tip your staff for the convenience of a valet.

Yelp
Most recently I visited River House at Odettes for brunch with 5 others. I was very much excited over this beautiful new hotel and restaurant on property. However, despite spending $400+ and an additional $100 on valet for the 6 of us (and this is just for lunch) left very unsatisfied. I was slightly annoyed with the ridiculous $20 valet charge. It makes sense for the hotel guests for a 24 hour period while staying. I don't think one should pay to valet for a 1.5 hour lunch. Should be validated or something. There is no alternative parking nearby. Absolutely stunning atmosphere of both the hotel lobby as well as the restaurant. Very modern, chic and cozy. The views are to die for. Lot's of outdoor seating, which is so great. The outdoor is equipped with heating lamps, comfy couches and overall the atmosphere is inviting. Initially, I had a very strange run-in with the hostess who informed me that there was no reservation under the name of I was giving her. I asked to look for a reservation that was for 6 people and she proceeded to tell me that didn't exist either. After much back and forth I ended up having one of my friends who was already seated at the table come out to greet me. I was a bit taken back by the hostess's inability to be helpful. We've ordered two appetizers to share and an entrée each. The food was mostly good with nice presentation. I ordered the protein bowl and unfortunately the chicken was a bit dry and under seasoned. The dressing was scrumptious. What I was mostly unimpressed with was the service. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating and probably to no fault of her own was stretched thin between all the tables. I saw her serving other tables and I would like to believe that she was overwhelmed. While it took over an hour for the food to come out, which was surprising as it was not that busy, that could be very well due to kitchen. But it was every other request that took an additional 15/20 minutes. From getting water, to getting teas and coffees, each period of waiting stretched out and often times we founds ourselves a bit frustrated. In the end I needed to search for her just to give her out payment. We ended up leaving around 4pm (1:30pm reservation). I do feel it's a bit unfair to leave a mediocre review, especially as a first one. I'd like to believe that this new establishment would work out the kinks soon. This is a decently expensive place and I don't mind paying top dollar for exceptional food and service to follow. Will give it one more shot to hopefully update my review in the future.

Yelp
Beautiful location- good service and it goes down from there. Food was average at best and the pricing was WAY out of line. 32.00 for a plate of hummus (appetizer) Seriously.......... It was a grand total of over 400.00 (including tip and parking) for four people! OUCH- Would not mind paying that price if the food was good- it was not! So disappointed!

Yelp
Beautiful place. Will go back again. I highly recommend this place. Service was decent, a bit slow move. Good Ambiance. Breathe taking views. A must in New Hope!

Yelp
First, let me say the renovations are beautiful. However, this is essentially a wedding venue and the quality of the food and drinks is reflected in that. Our server was fantastic, but the evening started with having to return a cosmopolitan because it tasted really off (when do you ever have to return a drink??). 2 others of our party ordered 2different beers, but they both received the same - twice. The food was average at best and definitely not worth the price. And the dessert menu has nothing chocolate on it. All in all an expensive, disappointing experience.

Yelp
In this beyond picturesque setting with breathtaking views of the river, River House at Odette's is finally creating food worthy of its surroundings. Having gone through a number of chef's they have found a voice that has its dishes singing. Over the summer they had a very limited (and somewhat uninspired) menu that left me wanting more. The new menu dazzles with staples like calamari, chicken parm and the incredibly delectable meat loaf. Like most places these day the struggle to find staff has put a strain on service but our server Kelly was top notch! While the clam chowder was epic, the tomato soup was being asked to do more than be a great tomato soup. Sometimes it's best to do less with great ingredients than more and I felt they were trying to elevate the dish to a level that it was only destined to fail at, basically it tasted like herbs and spices flavored with tomato, thankfully the accompanying grilled cheese struck that perfect balance of be a classic sandwich yet the flavors and textures were confident enough to say "this isn't your mom's grilled cheese but it is the one you wish she made". Cool and tasty chicken salad wrap coupled with perfect fries is a great balance of eating healthy but scratching that itch. An absolutely enjoyable experience!

Yelp
The place is beautiful and the food is good. Communication is terrible. Hosted a bridal shower here. Turnover with the staff is also another issue. We specifically requested only 2 types of drinks be served at a 1030 am Shower. We addressed this issue multiple times with multiple employees before the shower took place. We were assured this would not be a problem. This information was never passed onto the servers or bartender. A guest was permitted to open a bar tab and serve their table at the shower a full bar of drinks. This was authorized by the banquet manager who did not speak a word the entire time the shower went on. I addressed this with the server & bartender and they stopped service. I called the manager to address. Doesn't return calls. After multiple emails did reply blamed me for serving alcohol at the shower plus accused me of violating someone's hipaa information. I was assured the alcohol consumption would be controlled and that did not happen. If the staff was unable to accommodate my request that should have been communicated and we would have had the shower else where. My son wanted to hold his wedding here and they also had communication issues with the staff.

Yelp
Ok. I've read the other reviews and feel compelled to tell the truth. My wife and I are loyal restauranteurs and are experts on every restaurant in the area. Why do we go here many times a month? First, the people are fantastic. I can't say enough about the staff. Always upbeat, attentive, and caring. Do they get busy sometimes? Yes they do (every establishment is short-handed, you know that). The food is excellent and they keep making it better. We tried everything. We rarely eat red meat and there's ample selections for us. The appetizers are so plentiful that we can only order one. Never had a bad one and if we did they would happily replace it. Who goes to a nice restaurant and eats a meal they don't like? Only people who want to write a poor review. Every excellent restaurant I've been to has always accommodated or taken if off the menu. I can only remember sending something back once and that was because I ordered the wrong item. The price point is higher than most but the ambiance is the best. Now let's talk valet. I understand they had to build an overflow parking lot. Parking is horrible in New Hope, so I understand the dilemma. All lots are a minimum of $10 and don't have valet, so for us, it's worth it. So, if you want a fun time, great bar, quality entertainment, really nice food, and want to meet really cool people, this is the place. We are here often because we love the place. Finally, we are locals yet numerous friends have stayed at the hotel and absolutely love it. Many have reported dancing all night on The Roof, a must if you stay here. Oh, it's the place to be seen in New Hope (or New Hollywood as it's referred to these day). There's nothing even close.

Yelp
Odette's??? O'don't!!!! Aesthetically a nice looking place. Eh...that's the most I have to say about this place. Walk in w a reservation. Hostess asks if we wanna sit outside. It was 40°. They have outdoor heaters....no thanks...I prefer warm meals. They seat us by a window. Problem is they keep the doors open for the servers to have free access in & out. Well...that cold air was circulating. So we asked for another seat....not much better. They offered me blankets. BLANKETS. We paid an obscene amount for dinner to have to wrap myself in a blanket. The "new cocktail" list created by the worlds finest mixologist had a very summery feel. We ordered 2. Nothing exciting. The plates were mediocre at best. My partner hated the muscles. She said they were fishy. I thought they were ok but nothing exciting. We had the cornbread...im not mad at that. It was good. Our entrees were ok. Not major league delish. Plus we had to pay $20 for the parking. This place is a joke. Save ur $$ and go to the more historic restaurants. We found those to be amazing.
