I visited Rize for the first time this past weekend with my aunt and cousin for a girls' luncheon/brunch. The place is really cute with bright, airy decor and a fun, upbeat staff as well. Everyone was all smiles and that made for a great atmosphere!
I started off by ordering a flight of mimosas. I didn't see it on the menu but I'd seen a picture of one either on Instagram or here on Yelp (I wasn't sure which), so I asked the server about it. She said sure, a flight of mimosas, I can get you that! I was expecting a flight of 4 mini mimosas, ready-made. What I got was a bottle of champagne ($35) and a flight of syrups ($16). Definitely not what I was expecting but that was probably a communication error on my part, so I just requested 3 glasses and decided to roll with it.
When I looked at the menu online I thought I'd be ordering the cinnamon roll for sure, but my cousin ordered it, so we shared. Truth be told, that thing is huge! We all ate some and my aunt took the rest home. I went with the Croissant BLT with The Rize salad as the side. I also ordered a cup of tomato basil soup.
The soup had good flavor; the basil really came through, but it was very thin and watery. I could tell it was super fresh and homemade, but I would've preferred that it was thicker and smoother. The croissant was not what I expected either. I couldn't tell if it was toasted or just hard, but I was expecting soft, flaky layers and didn't get that.
My aunt ordered the Brussels Sprout & Cabbage Salad. She liked it. My cousin got the cinnamon roll, but didn't care for the orange glaze; my aunt and I liked it. She also got the Breakfast Sandwich and Crispy Potatoes. She ate that up pretty quickly, so it must've been really good!
It was a beautiful day and the outdoor seating area was full. This place is definitely a vibe, but the food is a bit overpriced, in my opinion, for what it is.
